Does anyone know of a decent weapon for this guy? His hands seem just a bit shy of 5mm, so weapons stolen from other figures don't work. Just dug him out of storage for a photo with Legends Swerve, and although I dig him as much now as I did when I bought him last year I really wish he had some kind of weaponry.
He works great with G1 Sludge weapons, I arm him with the sword and the rifle. Nice to get a "regular" car mode for a change instead of all the sports cars
Is this figure really worth the price tag, and how rare is it? Also, what line is he from, is he an exclusive from an event?
He's the only Transformers figure in history where Hasbro has never used the mold for retail release, the exact reason for his creation remains unknown to this day, and he has a Chevy logo on his chest but his instructions are for the old Universe line. I picked mine up years ago MISB for about $40 w/ free shipping. He's become more common since then so I'd say that price is about the average. He's also worth getting if just for the novelty.
I had him at one point and then sold him because i needed cash. i do occasionally regret it and hearing that he's no reasonable on the aftermarket for a very niche release, well that's good
Its an OK figure... Dont pay more tthan $40. IMO. Has some limits to poses. Arms are kinda stubby and legs have awkward kibble... The red plastic is kinds orange-ish... But Im a sucker for Transformer cars... Cool visor head sculpt, too...
Does anyone know if any of the arms micron weapons can fit in his hand, I'm planning on picking him up and i feel a targetmaster of some kind would fit him best.
OK, I received my Aveo Swerve today...OMG!!! The hype about this figure is highly UNDERstated. He is an amazing figure!! Solid, stocky, well proportioned, and straight up FUN!!! And he looks awesome with the Classics/Universe/Generations, troops. I still find it unfathomable that he's so well done considering how and why he was conceived.
Yea, the figure is a mixed bag. Nicly sculpted and painted... Car mode is OK. I do love a good TF car... Bot mode is short / stocky. Nice head and just the basic amount of detail we like... But the arm kibble / posability makes this figure an 8 out of 10...
How is Aveo Swerve, short?!? RTS Jazz and Generations Kup are 2 of the tallest deluxe figures and Serve stands just as tall as both of them...where do you get 'short' from?!?!?
It may just be that his proportions make him look short. If he's got one limitation it's that his transformation makes a bicep swivel impossible.
Not true, originally it was a gift from Hasbro to Chevy (produced at Hasbro's expense) as a thank you to Chevy for a successful partnership. It was later used as a promotion for Canadian Chevy dealers where if you test drove an Aveo you would get one for free. That's how I got mine (a guy from another TF board was giving them away for free). You can find out more here.
So, I got my Sweve outa storage... He is stocky. The thighs need to be longer... No doubt about it... Everything else is good... With the exception of the serious lack of paint... Ill look into some ball joints to see if i can make him taller...
