just got this guy to complete my movie lineup (i passed up the regular version since i disliked the dull grey that was trying to pass itself of as silver) and find him very much satisfactory, verily. i wont discuss the mold itself, since thatd be redundant, focusing only on the paint app. - the white plastic is great, its shiny not dull/matte like classics astro. - the paint apps are generally okay over a couple of figures i chose from (he doesnt look shortpacked), you just gotta watch out for scuff markes on the white, not apparent on other colored molds, glaring on white. - i kinda think the decals, typography wise look off for the one on the doors, but the general finish of the figure overall makes up for this. i just heate those swirls on grey plastic. so, um, yeah. its jazz! yay! *reads card bio* bwa?!! lame.
I don't know but the whole look of G.1 redeco Jazz in 'bot mode keeps making me think of him as a Siberian Husky.
Got mine too and I have to say he's...all right. The deco is quite nicely done for the car, and it's worlds better than the original movie Jazz's. It doesn't work so well for the robot mode though. Like Rescue Ratchet, it's the head that bugs me the most - it just looks weird. Other than that, my gripes with it are pretty much the same gripes I had with the original version. Arms suck, legs are too fat.
It should be noted that the G1 Jazz redeco features the slightly improved forearms that Final Battle Jazz has. Well, at least mine does.
I'd rather have a proper Classics Jazz, but I doubt I'll be able to pass this guy up. The only thing I'd change on his deco is making the 4 on his doors black. I wonder if Delta will make some sponsor/Martinii decals for him?
I like this redeco so much I actually got two, one for bot and the other for car mode display. Really nicely done by Hasbro.
Nvm this, read the FBjazz thread and found the answer. As awesome as he is, I will say one thing. The completely unpainted legs bother me a lot. A bit of black, some copper on the pipes and just a dab of red would do wonders imo.
I definitely like G1-ish Jazz, not just because it look geewunny, but the white/black/blue deco adds some much-needed visual interest to the mold.
i get what you mean. he looks like frank from donnie darko...that gives me an idea for a strip. which ill likely procrastinate. yeah, i was like, howd he do that i cant fix the thing properly and then i realized, its not really clipping anywhere, doh.
I got all 3 versions (finalbattle, movie, and G1 redeco) and this one stands out the most. Color is brighter, windows are clearer and the wheels stand out more too. For some reason he also looks thinner in car mode compared to the first movie version.
I need to get this Jazz. It'll be the only Jazz I get. I can't possibly pass a car with a Martini livery on.
I stumbled across the last one at Target this week. Looked good enough in person and I actually overall like the mold. Glad I scooped him up. I think he looks great in these colors and is a great tribute to old school Jazz. My daughter thought he was awesome so good enough. "Daddy that's really is a cool new Jazz, can I hold him" And shoulder mount cannon FTWMF!!!
I saw three today at Target, and as expected all those colors meant some really fuggered paintjobs. Wasn't able to pick one up
Oh, man I know what you mean. Out of 10 Jazzes that were at my Target, only 2 were acceptable to my eyes. Pretty sad, but that's what happens to a mass-produced product.
Picked up G1 Jazz a couple days ago. Felt like a kid again buying Autobot Jazz at a department store again I'm thinking of getting another one so I can shoulder mount 2 guns so he looks even more g1 ish (why couldn't Jazz have the old school wing doors that they gave to movie bumblebee instead
