Got this last week in a sundry shop few miles from my home. I was actually browsing the place for some comics when I saw this nifty little card with a F1 themed car packed into it. Curious, I took down the card and realized that it was actually a KO version of Robot Masters Mirage. Never actually owned the real deal (but played with one before), I decided to jump the gun and take it home with me. Package (sorry no pics here...I utterly threw the package away when I opened the card) A very simple package ie bubble on a card. With some very glaring "Engerish" deviations like 'Supa Transmutaformers' and so on. The instruction on the transformation is actually located at the back of the card so, in all, pretty simple looking presentation. Car Mode: The toy came packed in F1 mode. Upon opening the package, there I noticed the shoddy paint job (what can you expect from this price point? RM3 (roughly a few pennies in US currency). But the plastic colours were spot on. With the white paint splattered over the right places. It came with 2 guns just like the Robot Masters version. However unlike the Robot Masters version, the 2nd hand-held weapon is uncolored and was casted in gaudy orange plastic. Transformation: Pretty neat, just pull the spoiler and the rest clicks in place, Just extend the arms and legs and that's it. Robot Mode: This is where I was taken by surprised by the mold. Not only it looked like the real thing but also has the same articulation! Score another for faithful reproduction for this mold. The face is painted in gold and some parts of the leg. IMHO it is better than the original scheme. There are 7 points of articulation for this figure, 2 on the knees, 2 on the shoulder, 2 on the elbows and 1 on the head. Pretty decent for a KO as usually KOs sacrifice the articulation while looking like the real thing, it does not play like the real thing. For this figure, I am impressed. The only thing that needs to be done here is to repaint the whole figure, get some Autobot reprolabels on him and he could look like the real thing. Overall, pretty good. Although the plastic quality might not be up to snuff, I dig this mold.
YIKES! I have a ko that look almost exzactly the same as that! Just it's red, otherwise it has every thing the same as mine, heck I'm even doing a kitbash with that thing as I write this!
