Pretty much all grey plastic, but it sure looks good. Antenna cannot be positionned vertically, only at an angle, but I don't really mind. The finish of the speakers looks real. There's even a fake battery compartment with a screw! Station says "Frenzy 97.7". There are a few buttons molded in, none are working though. There's a button on the back of the radio to launch the cd/disc. Pretty cool.
TRANSFORMATION
Hard to explain, but a lot of cool stuff happening. That thing has the engineering of a deluxe. Torso is the disc launcher, now placed vertically. Head is hidden in the left speaker. You push the front of the speaker so it telescopes toward the back and a panel folds down and the head is pushed out. Pretty cool. Top of the right speaker (and bottom) folds on the back and goes on top and around the disc-launching button to become the new disc-launching button in robot mode! Does that make sense? Bottom of the radio become the left side of the robot's torso. You just unfold the arms and legs and you're pretty much done. Like I said, a bit tough to explain, you'll have to do it yourself to understand. Still, clearly the best FAB in that area!
ROBOT MODE
Weird looking robot, that's for sure. Creepy head (see Barricade's little Frenzy) that cannot turn, infortunately... but, oh wait, it does turn with the whole speaker assembly! Nice solid clicks as it rotates. Ball joints on the shoulders, joints at the elbows for the first pair of arms and another pair of joints for the 2nd set of arms. Ball joints at the hips. Swivels at the knees. Poses are limited but it's pretty stable. Antenna can be pointed forward as a secondary weapon I guess. Like I've mentionned before, you can push the button on Frenzy's back to fire the disc. Some more colors are added in the mix in that mode : red (eyes), metallic blue (torso) and metallic mustard (torso). Lots of cool mechanical details molded in too. Little Decepticon symbol on the upper chest (above the disc launcher).
Seriously, this FAB is awesome and tops all the ones I've gotten so far. Great alternate mode, nice gimmick, very fun transformation (not THAT fast for a FAB though!) and creepy robot mode. Some hates Frenzy's look, I for one love it. PROS
-realistic alternate mode with no visible robot parts
-gimmick (disc launcher)
-transformation CONS
-leg poseability
-backpack |

All they need to do now is introduce his brother in TF2 with red eyes and make his toys with blue... |
