Nice little figure. Only downside is that the painted red vs molded plastic red is more obvious than on previous transformers. But I've come to accept that molded plastic and painted plastic colors will never match completely. A worthy buy.
Hmm.... your photos have convinced me that I need to buy this little guy after all. The thing that drove me crazy in the last shots we say of him (possibly the actual Hasbro shots... can't remember) was the fact that it looked like he had no feet, just little pointy stilts. But lo and behold, he not only has feet, but pretty cool feet at that! Big stompy ones with high heels! That makes all the difference. I still love his alt mode, and don't mind his head so much.... so seeing those feet moves this guy into the "definite buy" category for me. Hmmm.... this bodes ill. For every extraneous offscreen figure like this I purchase, it is going to increase my desire for completeness. Then before I know it I will have dropped money on Dreadwing and Arcee. EDIT: If they do a purple version as suggested (ideally with a transparent purple cannon), they should name it Laserwave or Shockblast... for a crazy roundabout full-circle BT/Alt. homage! (And then it would still leave room for an actual Shockwave character later.)
I OWN it, I'm looking at it right now under normal lighting conditions. It doesn't match, unless the flash in my eyes is going off.
Yeah, I really want this guy. At first I only wanted a few select figures... but the more I see, the more I want.
Picked him up yesterday. At first I didn't like him, and he still feels a bit cheap, but he has good articulation and I like his backstory. He's grown on me, but he could do with a darker repaint.
does anyone know what Swindle's alt mode is? What model of car I mean? I assume that it is a real life licensed alt mode since everything else in the movie line is so far.
I love him! He's a fairly solid tf, could've been in any of the previous lines. The head bugs me too, but this thing is screaming for a purple and grey paint job! This may be my first attempt at a custom! Shockwave Jr. he shall be called...
Chevy Cobalt or something I think. He certainly does a good job of looking like a real car even if he's not 100% based on anything.
If Hasbro was smart, they'll do a repaint in just those colors, give him a neck (like the picture on the card has! ARGH!), and call him Shockwave. ....I think I need to go back to Target and pick up another Swindle. And purple spray paint.
send some pics if you go through with it! I'm gonna try to find an extra today, that is, if walmart will sell it to me without the hassle! someone posted a good digibash in the customs forum the other day.
Well swipe me! I've gone from indifferent to "me likey" thanks to those pictures. Nice that we can 'army build' him if we choose too.
Just a guess, but I'd be surprised if toyline-only characters will be seen in different scales. Maybe not though.
? Why would he get a voyager size release when his current figure is awesome and in scale? Not to mention that he's not a movie character, which was just said. He's just a drone from the video game. No more, no less. I found most of the movie Deluxes last night(except for Wreckage and Scorponok), but only picked up Jazz and Swindle. I'm waiting for the Barricade/Bumblebee pack, along with Leader Brawl, hopefully Voyager Bonecrusher, and the Blackout/Scorponok exclusive pack. Swindle himself is pretty neat. The plastic's lighter, and there's not much to the body(the undercarriage of the car is pretty hollow), but he's still a lot of fun. I'll be grabbing a couple more when they're on sale at Target this coming Sunday. I would bet they'll repaint him as well, more than likely in a shade of blue. The only negative about him is no neck. Articulation's pretty good with a wide range of movement thanks to ball joints. All in all, not bad for a deluxe, esp. one that's not even in the movie.
I thought Swindle would be pretty bad...but now that I have it I really like it. FAR superior to Jazz in pretty much every way. Decent working articulation (exceot for the head ) and a cool gimmick that works in both modes. The legs aren't as wonky as I imagined they would be from pics as well. It definitely has the aestetics of an Alternator in the deluxe size class. Very cool!
I just got mine. I was excited for this figure. I am not disappointed at all. He's supposed to be a Cobalt, yes. He's not quite a cobalt though. There are a lot of differences. I concur. It's hard to tell sometimes, but its clearly two different colors. Mostly has to do with half the car being painted on top of clear and the other half being molded. I don't know about anyone else's, but does theirs have a molded gas cap on the front bumper?? Not really on the front bumper, it's on the fender actually, passenger side.
