He's a nice enough figure and an original take on the usual robot mode we see, but he's not amazing. As a one-off I quite like him, but I don't want to be inundated with similarly styled figures - I even think the Autobot repaint is a bit much. I much prefer the more 'traditional' Real Gear robots.
dude, i dont have a problem if you think his the best but i have issue with youre supposition: you mention laserbeak at least twice in your closing statement yet you began your argument saying, i paraphrase, that you dont have to be a g1 nut to like booster. (before i continue, take note the diff. between 'best' and 'fave'.) anyways, again, i have no hate for boosterx10 and i already have all the real gear (im bragging here), but clearly, longview is technically the best: - arguably best color scheme, very striking - a great original design which doesnt even have to bother with homages, not that theres anything wrong with that - completely, flawlessly articulated for a scout class bot. - is not missing decals (yes you can fix this, but as far as out of the box is concern, booster loses out). still, 2nd place is not bad. until you get highscore of course. then booster gets bumped down to the 3 spot.
I hate the cheesy yellow on Longview, I would have prefered the same colors found on Spyshot, Speed Dial, etc.
I would have to agree. Even when posed with the other Real Gear figures he looks out of place. I just dont recall seeing many bright yellow binocs(maby waterproof). He is still cool but i will pick him up very last.
Finally got him, and absolutely love him. One of the best of the line. I'd also like to reiterate the fact that we NEED a Ravage real gear.
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=138090 SMOG provides a nice solution to that problem (it was one of the first things I noticed as well). Lisa (my wife) has those hair ties all over the place, so she didn't miss the one I used ^_^ [BTW KA, I noted that you saw this already, but I was figuring that others who want to do the same may not have ]
got him with zoomout. mp3/block mode- well, it is acceptible as an mp3 player, but i think it looks like a futuristic video phone to me. but it is neat enough, and the earpiece is good on its own. b- birdy- i have him posed with his wings folded up, earpice seperate ( for some reason, like g1 laserbeak, i do not attach his gun, and keep it aside at al times) with his head slightly tipped to the side. he also looks good flying. i don't like his hollow butt though, but it is a nessesity. the fact that his tail is painted clear plastic and that when it is held to the sun, shows details, while unintendeed, is awesome. the fact that the ball joints which the legs are mounte on can swivel with, and independant from the wing pivot is usefull in getting the legs out, 0lus he can do a 'i needz to poopz' pose. b+ overall, i ike this birdy. get him if you see him
