I did'nt see a post for this guy.
Well I got this figure today. I will give him a 6 out of 10.
For the most part he is a cool toy, but as always there are flaws. The wobbly legs are the most annoying. One of the legs actually came off when I was transforming him. I also feel Laserbeak should have had some metal:thumbdown

Got mine today, too. Overall I like him and the supergroin doesn't bother me that much, but his problems are irritating because they could have been very easily avoided.

    Good:

Looks like Soundwave, do doubt about that. The head sculpt is cool and his head is hard plastic and not rubber, which for some reason I see as a plus. The artiulation on the arms is great. Shoulders and elbows move in all sorts of ways. Wrists are ball joints as well. Leg articulation is nice in that Soundwaves knees can finally bend the right direction, but they are limited. The knee joints are ratcheted, and the hips appear to be as well.

He's hefty, and the diecast seems to be in the right areas. Torso, lower legs, forearms. The finish is beautiful. Soundwave has one of the best paintjobs I've seen on a TF in a long time. It does his G1 character much justice. I would have preferred a clear tape deck window so Lazerbeak was visible, but the purple looks cool in a different way.

Transformation is fairly smooth and intuitive, and the parts all have pegs to lock them into place. Fortunately his splitting crotch holds together very tightly and doesn't suffer the fate of Megatrons loose loins. I think he looks pretty cool in tape deck mode, regardless of it not looking true-to-life. It's detailed enough to pass as a tape deck. He's even got a little volume dial sculpted on. Oh, the weapons are very cool, too, and since they are batteries they have positive and negative symbols on them. It's kind of weird to have them exposed in the back, but it doesn't look bad.

    Bad:

His legs. They telescope at two different places, and neither of them really click or lock into place on mine. Friction will hold them, just barely, but they are constantly on the verge of collapsing. If mine is just shoddy, fine, but if was actually sculpted to not have the legs lock into place, that's just unforgivably poor design.

On top of that, the sliding hip pegs are crap. The legs come off very easily because of their design, which I suppose is better than breaking, but still.

The pegs on his legs that lock them into the torso when in tape deck mode are just barely nubs on mine. They're so short, rounded and almost worn looking that they do not plug into the holes at all. Fortunately the legs hold close enough to the torso due to the transformation that they don't really NEED to lock into place, but it would be nice if the tape deck were as tight as can be. I mean, what if I want to take it jogging or something? :p

Overall I like the guy. I'm such a G1 Soundwave nut that I almost have to like him no matter what. Soundwave is the only character that I like more than Optimus Prime, so I'm thrilled to have a new version of him that's actually a tape deck and not some fugly pseudo-stealth bomber. And most of all I just love having another gadget former in my collection, i'm getting burnt out on vehicles.

As an aside, the WST Soundwave is still my favorite SW toy. I suspect he will hold that title until a Masterpiece Soundwave is made.

They're disappointing, but they aren't a total loss like Megs. I'm trying to figure out a way to bash this guy with a better leg system.

I'm curious to hear of other people have the same problems with their Soundwaves.

Mine'll likely arrive at my doorstep either the 26th or the 27th, I'll let you know how my Soundwave's legs are...

Great, for your sake I hope they are nice and tight. Last night I tried opening up Soundwave and discovered that he's held together with screws everywhere....everywhere except his legs, which are held together entirely with pins. Grr...

My main point of annoyance at the moment is where his legs join the hips. They could have easily used a regular hip joint or a ball joint, but instead they opted for these sliding square pegs. The main problem with them is that if you want to move Soundwave's legs at the hip, you are basically forcing a square peg to turn in a square hole. It works, and his legs will turn, but there's not that much freedom and I'm afraid the corners will wear down really fast.

This guy is so frustrating because with just very slightly different construction below the waist he would have been perfect.

The pegs that hold up Soundwave's upper legs into their "robot mode position" is the same as mine as on yours, they really can't hold themselves up under the weight of the diecast lower legs. His torso looks like a diaper no matter which position they're in, though, so I don't really care about that. However, the legs don't come off on mine easily at all, and although they aren't the sturdiest, my Soundwave can stand up on his own two legs in robot mode without having them collapse into each other.

Overall, better than I thought he'd be. 6.5/10.

Mine is terrible. The slider inside his right hip is misplaced, so the leg can't lock into the down position for robot mode. To get him to stand, I need to have both pushed up, making an already stocky toy look even stockier. Hopefully I just got a bad one and all of you don't run into the same problem.

Here's my shoot of Titanium Soundwave. He was a little hard to shoot because his legs are very loose. I got him to stand legs extended on the base, but after that his upper legs kept falling down. There is no way to help the crotch look any better, you can pose him like I have with his legs pushed in at the hips, but that's it. It's sad, because he could have been much better, but his "diaper" waist and looseness in the legs spoiled it for me. And after having him out, I wish I'd kept him MISB :(

Anyways, here's some pics so you can judge for yourself.
