Picked up a Classics Grimlock today..

    Dino mode:
He looks like a great updated version of good old G1 gimmy.. only a little more bad ass. Gun can be attached to his back. Has light piping for the dino eyes. Tail can be bent from side to side. Dino arms move like BW Megs (all dino versions)

    Transformation:
    1) Remove tail
    2) Pull apart dino head and and extend section to form legs and feet.
    3) Rotate head section so it faces front.
    4) Push the mount for the gun in dino mode back and then rotate the chest 180 degrees.
    5) put arms/shoulders flush with sides of chest
    6) Adjust dino feet to reveal hands
    7) Add weapons
    8) Kick decepticon ass

    Robot Mode:
Looks great, but has a few minor problems. When you play with the arms, the should swings out a bit because it doesn't peg to the body.

    Overall:
He kicks lots of ass and is a great update of our favorite dinobot.. Grimlock is a lot of fun to play with. I give him a 9/10.

How tall is he in robot mode (and please use cm, inches are just too broad a form of measure).

I have no idea.. he is taller than any wave 1 deluxe and has a bigger build than the others. He is the biggest Deluxe.

you got it at Target, do you know if the dpci# is different on it than the 1st wave? I think the one # is 087 06 1166 if you have a receipt handy! :)

You know, I'm thinking the two black fold down flaps on the sides of his head were supposed to lock the shoulders to the torso.

If you look underneath the flaps, there are two ridges on each of them that I believe are supposed to lock onto the grooves on the shoulders.

But something went awry with the molding I think and they don't line up correctly.

Other than that, I'm not entirely sure if the chest area of the dino was purposefully smudged with black paint to give it a "worn" look but it doesn't look that bad either way. However, I DID notice on a few of the Grimocks that the big black stripe on each side of his chest area have huge paint app problems. Smudges that clearly weren't supposed to be happening.

So after perusing a few, I found one that looked good and bought that one.

Oh, and the four screw holes in the shoulders in robot mode is something I wished they could've avoided.

If you don't mind them facing forward in dino mode, you can always swap them.

Yeah, I thought about that, but then they four ugly screw holes would be visible in dino mode too. It's a no win situation unfortunately with those four holes.
Yeah, I really do love the Fremont Fry's now.:D
    Don't I? :p

Talk to Triformis, he might be able to help you out with Grimlock and Mirage. PM him.

heheh yep ya do! ;)  seriously tho, congrats bro. If it were me, I'd dab some paint on those 4 screws and then they'd not be nearly so noticible :)

It's not the screws that are really bothering me. It's the deep holes.

I thought about that too. But then I realized that if his shoulder were to ever come loose, I wouldn't be able to tighten it.

I suppose you could fit some polycaps or something that go into the holes but can be popped out if you really needed to get to them again? Depends on how hard it would be to get some caps that are the right size, though.

Yeah, that would be ideal. However finding ones in the right side will be challenging.
