No, Triggerhappy is not a retool of this mold. Just look at him. If anything, he probably ends up parts-sharing his thighs, toes and fists with someone, (because i think parts-sharing is going to be the new normal) but just look at him, you can suss out he he transforms COMPLETELY differently. (i.e. his head attaches on the opposite side of the cockpit then Blurr/Brainstorm)

I'm waiting for Nautica myself. I'd like to get the T30 Brainstorm if I can find a good price for it.

I think Triggerhappy actually shares molding with Scourge.

I bit when TCP dangled the lure.  (Not-buyers' remorse stinks, and I can't afford, or convince myself to fall for, the Titan Force 3-pack.)

I did have the Voyager, but unlike that era's Roadbuster, Brainstorm always felt a little ... awkward at that size. If there's one across-the-board positive for the TR Deluxes, they scale very nicely with the CW Deluxes, and I can mix and match them in display with no regrets. :)

I have no problem with Blurr and Brainstorm being so close. Never hurts to have an excuse to buy the same awesome toy twice.

I also like the Walgreens version being more G1, since the Voyager T30 Brainstorm already owns the IDW version of the character.

Instead of 'Teslor' I really wanted HAsbro to call the Titan Master in this set 'Smart Robin' instead. Y'know to troll UL3P.

As to G1 modes, you can bash out a decent G1 mode!

It's missing rudders and nothing is pegged in but the figure is stiff enough that this mode holds itself without issue.

Also @ Seeaich, yeah it's possible to pop the seat forward to close off the cockpit, but there are still gaps and (IMO) looks a bit crap.

I may sell my T30 Brainstorm (loose) once I get TR Brainstorm.

    Stay tuned.

Got mine from Chosen Prime yesterday and I gotta say, this is the first TR figure I actually am really pleased with. Note, I did not yet buy Sourge or Blurr but I have all the rest. Since I don't have Blurr yet this is my first experience with the mold but yeah, I'm pleased. Compared to the voyagers or even Skullcruncher and Hardhead I think Brainy here feels and looks very solid and not fiddly. I agree with the general assessment that this version is nicer looking than the SDCC version thanks to the extra paint/tampo adornments. My only gripe is that I wish the cockpit sealed up more tightly so it was more of a star fighter and less of a convertible but as others have pointed out you can flip the back of his seat forward a bit to kinda close it up so there's that at least.

No. TR heads are too small in every way.

The SDCC paint apps make a hell of a difference, so I'm hoping to find that version somewhere. Just a shame they packaged it with 2 toys I have no interest in.

I may get the WG version and add my own paint apps if I have to. Worked a treat on the previous Brainstorm :)

It's also worth noting you can close up the cockpit like that on Blurr too. It helps that toy a lot.

    this ?

Bear in mind mine was obtained through IDToys in the UK who in turn sourced it from somewhere in the far east so it *could* be different from the US one

Great comparison shot! Smart Robin edges out Wallgreens for #1. Wallgreens is a close #2. Everything else isn't even close.

Voyager Brainstorm is better. But I'll keep this one on the shelf just because the scale matches up more with the other TR headmasters. I find the way the cockpit transforms a bit finicky if the headmaster isn't already sitting inside because sometimes I push it down into robot mode position by mistake. But it's just a minor annoyance.

Snapping the front of the vehicle back into place should lift the cockpit back up.
