I ordered mine on the 18th, received it in the 1st, and I only paid extra for a tracking number Take that as you will, as I've never used the site before, and can't speak to any "average" time
I paid extra for tracking, it just shipped today...from the Netherlands? I thought the listing said something about shipping from a Chinese warehouse. They also emailed a photo of my package with my address on it. I think that's the first time anyone has done that in my 20 years of buying online. Anyway, whee, incoming Soundwave!
That's exactly how it went for the last thing I bought from them, a pic of it...and over 30 days to get here. The tracking # never worked. I just checked my email, it was mailed today, got the pic, and the tracking does not register anywhere. I will honestly be surprised if I see it by Saturday. I know it will show up at some point.
Based on what I have seen in photos and videos (my SDCC Soundwave isn't here yet), there has been a decent amount of remolding done between the original and SDCC versions. In addition to the color change, removal of the molded MI logo and change of the front tampos, the speakers have been changed, the side buttons have been changed/moved and the molded detail on the front for the camera/upper speaker has been changed. Basically, they re-shelled the tablet mode to be a generic android tablet instead of a Mi Pad 2.
I spent the extra $1.50 or so for the 7-15 business day shipping. It literally took 15 business days for it to arrive. Ordered July 19, received it August 9th, so 21 days total ish. What's weird is that they didn't ship it until July 28.
Got mine from Hasbro Toy Shop yesterday. I love it. This is the sort of thing that's right up my alley because it's Soundwave, it's a gadgetformer and it's a fresh design. I'm really impressed with the engineering of this, it reminds me of how main line Transformers were made during Revenge of the Fallen. Complex yet very clever and intuitive. Solid. Everything tabs together tightly. And even though it's a robot coming out of a thin slab it manages to have a good amount of articulation and even some ratchet joints. Throw in integrated weapons and a minion (abstract though he may be) and you've got a winner. Really the only thing that I wish could have been different is I wish somehow the head could have at least had rotational movement, but I fully understand why it doesn't.
Gearbest SUCKS. They JUST got my order to the shipping place, 10 days after I ordered it. I guess the extra money I paid for shipping only applies to the actual ship time, not how long it takes their lazy asses to get it to the shipper.

I didn't realise there was a screen outline moulded into Soundwave! I see it now but totally missed it. I had the good fortune to compare my SDCC Soundwave to someone elses Mi pad last night and there are quite a few differences. The colour (not so obviously in person) is silver and grey not gold. The change is quite subtle, and until they were side by side it was hard to spot the differences. Although that could have just been my tired old eyes and the lighting. Front facing camera, front buttons, power, volume, speaker holes are all in different places. The colour of the sleeve is silver. The instructions are in english. The box is silver (not white) and the picture of Soundwave reflects all his physical changes. He also has a bio faintly printed on the back of the box, basically telling you how much of a bastard he is, thus inspiring my gif! Now I know it's wrong I'll have to redo it lol.

Okay, so I got this when it went back into stock at HTS and I was shocked by how much I LOVED this guy. Seriously, he's definitely flawed (bicep swivels and/or a neck would be nice), but damn if he isn't fine. And he's oddly intuitive considering how convoluted the transformation is. And I just love his look. Very Gundam-esque, though with his colors and how heroic he seems I wouldn't be surprised if he gets repurposed as an upgrade for Shattered Glass Soundwave.
