I've had mine for a few months now and one of his arms always seemed a bit wonkey when pegged for jet mode. Now I know why. The peg thing in his shoulder pad is smushed and so doesn't sit correctly. Dunno if it happened during production assembly or I've somehow done it myself, but it is a little disappointing as otherwise it's a neat figure.
I might risk trying to fix it by glueing a small bit of plastic in to build it up but I'm concerned the soft plastic of the peg might not hold up and I could ruin it completely. Right now it's just about functional, so I'm undecided about messing with it.

Does anyone know if the Takara version cleared up the fitment errors?

I just happen to see this guy at Wal Mart today so I picked him up. Last one they had there too.

This is one of the few Decepticon designs for this series that I actually like. I was thinking about getting Skywarp because I like his color scheme more usually but with this mold it just looks better as Starscream. I mean the thing is designed as a homage to the coronation scene in the movie, I had to get the Starscream version.

I know from watching the show that his wings are suppose to be flared outward a bit but I have him slightly mistransformed so the wings look more like he's wearing a cape. I wish there was a crown that came with this guy or was molded into the head sculpt which is really my only issue with this figure. I guess I could imagine that this is before he's crowned and hopefully they'll release another one later down the line with that head sculpt.

Anyway, this is the first Starscream I've seen since G1 that's managed to pull off that color changing trick which is another reason I really like the Starscream version of this mold. If you don't know what I mean by that, I'm talking about the fact that G1 and this Starscream's vehicle modes are mostly grey jets. There's a thin red stripe on the wings but that's really the only red you can see from the top. I don't really like looking at the bottom because kibble... which is typical of most Transformers. It's not as bad as some other Transformers, the worst thing is the arms which are clearly just arms stuck to the underside of the vehicle mode so can't really complain about that. I've seen larger toys do much worse. Anyway typically Starscreams are mostly red in both modes except for G1 and this one which manage to hide most of their red parts in alt mode resulting in this nice color changing trick.

The transformation on this one is a little bit more complicated than my other RID2 figures as there's parts that clash with each other if you don't do it exactly right. I actually really like the transformation because it's just hard enough to provide a challenge without being frustrating.

Articulation. Head swivels, can't turn all the way around but there's enough range for the joint to be useful. Shoulders swivel up and down and have a second pin joint to move outward. I thought the should pads would clash with the wings but actually there's just enough space between them that they don't get in the way no matter how you choose to position the wings. Ball jointed elbow. Ball jointed hips. Thigh swivel just below that ball joint. Knee bend. Though every time I try to use that knee joint the lower legs come unpegged and I end up being a transformation joint instead of the knee. If yours is like mine you're going to want to want to hold that together from the back of the leg as you bend the knee. Joint tolerances may very so maybe yours won't have that issue. And finally the ankles are on a pin joint though that's mostly for transformation. Seems pretty standard for this size class in this toy line.

I also saw a RID2 Drift in his IDW color scheme but I didn't pick it up. Now if I ever see Drift in SG colors I'll pick him up cause SG Drift is basically Deadpool.

Anyway, if you don't have RID Starscream already go get one. In a sea of horrible looking Decepticon toys this is one of three actually good toys. (The other two being Fracture and Megatronus. Though I wish they would make a Deluxe/Warrior class Overload and Shadelock.)

I have the combiner force version, and the ball joints are not super tight but certainly not loose at all. Only thing I wish were a little tighter is how the wings tab in alt mode - but they're not loose at all either - it's just the rest of the jet tabs together very solid, and I wish the wings did too. But I have to say - my copy is really really nice, and I love this figure. I have no complaints.

I love animated, and this is deluxe animated starscream for me for sure - can't wait for the repaints!!!!!

Ended up ordering Skywarp from HasbroToyShop to get Free Shipping.

Hasbro seems to have fixed the leg problems as Skywarp's aren't floppy at all (they are still looser than I would like, but not as bad as the TRU Starscream which flopped everywhere). Otherwise he's the typical Skywarp repaint of Starscream-- although I have to say he is really, really dark; so much so he evokes the Hollywood Ninja look. Since he hasn't appeared on the show yet it's anyone's guess how he's going to 'own' this body like Starscream did, so I can't say I'm raving him over Starscream. At this point he's Ninja Starscream.

Although one thing I'd point out over Starscream is Skywarp actually has normal Decepticon emblems on his wings. Definite plus.

So weird, each version of the Deluxe Aligned starscream mold has their own personality in the sculpt,
I do like the RID starscream, he is fun and has a nice animated styling to him,
First edition Screamer is a nice "realistic" Prime starscream, where it looked like he leaped from the screen,
Beast hunters...well let's be honest he is just cluttered and a mess,

I know i didn't include WFC/FOC starscream, I do have him, I just don't considered the games to be part of the same universe
