The right arm is hollow in the back because that's where the gun stores in tablet mode. So the front is the solid piece instead.

Is there any word of Hasbro/Takara making Eject to go along with Rewind?

Otherwise, he's a pretty okay toy. Not a fan of the stickers that don't seem to stay stuck on like Buzzsaw, but his three modes are good for what they apparently could come up with.

No but, like Frenzy, it's a complete no brainer.

Anyone planning to repaint Rewind into Rosanna?

I liked this figure but I am definitely off put by the lack of functioning heals. I can deal with the large arms- aren't aesthetically perfect, but they are functional. The feet are not functional in many standard poses.

Rewind is a decent little triple changer with a good range of articulation (neck tilt/rotation, shoulder swivel/tilt, bicep swivel, elbow bend, hip and knee balljoints). He stands perfectly fine on flat surfaces once you find his center of balance. My only criticism is that I wish he was smaller and less bulky (especially in the arms), but I understand that it's a compromise for the alt modes.

If you are a fan of the comics, then he is a must for your IDW shelf!

    I picked up Rewind today.

If you can get past the asymmetric, cinder-block forearms, he's a serviceable version of his MTMTE incarnation in robot mode.

Neither of his alt modes look all that great, but that's par for the course for Rewind. The sticker was a dumb idea though. Would have much rather had some molded/painted detail, even at the cost of a more spartan design.

As a triple changing, legends class figure he does have some decent playablility, even before you introduce TM Blaster.

Overall, OK, if not a must-have.

Anyone else have a tendency to forget about the gun in data slug mode and go to transform him without removing it first?

I just got him from HTS and he's great. I hadn't read any reviews, however, so I didn't realize the stickers come pre-applied and crooked. What a shame when I saw the instructions imply you would receive a sheet to apply yourself!

Am I the only one that would of preferred a more G1 accurate head sculpt over IDW?

I just prefer Rewind being a cassette working for Blaster instead of being a romantic interest for Chromedome. So I can at least like this figure cause it interacts with a Blaster, if only I could afford said Blaster.

Uh...the head is pretty much G1 with the exception of a blue visor instead of a blob of red for a face and the tiny little camera detail on the left side.

    And blue eyes/red face is the case with the much less detailed G1 cartoon head;

Not to mention his old G1 tech spec bio actually ends a justification for having a camera in robot mode:

Edit: What I think it boils down to for me is this... I can only afford Hasbro and as time has gone by has grown to prefer Hasbro over Takara. So I guess I was hoping for something that didn't remind me of IDW but something that looked more G1. Which would have to be toon accurate since I guess the toy would still look very IDW.

I think this also applies to Chromedome too. But at least they retain a gimmick that was there in G1 (Chromedome being a Headmaster & Rewind being Blaster's cassette) that make me overlook the IDW aspect to enjoy them.

No, and no tapes in Wave 3 either :-(

3 heads at the bottom: BB, Gnaw & Kickback
    [IMG]

Frenzy and Eject are pure No Brainers though ... If the Tape Decks go for their Headmaster upgrade colours (perhaps in a 2 character leader wave) I imagine we'll see the tapes back then.

Meshing? Dude, IDW Rewind's head is literally the G1 head with a dot on one side. There is absolutely no other physical differences involving that head between them so I don't see where this is somehow combining two designs when beyond one tiny detail, they were the same design.

The pessimist in me smells Walmart Black Friday 2-packs may be involved...they love to do exclusive scout repaints for those things...

I got Rewind a couple days ago and discovered today one of his feet is unpainted. (It's opened so I won't be returning it or anything like that)
    This happen to anyone else?

Yeah, the stickers are my only real complaint. Other than the fact I have to wait another 3 months for his Conjunx Endura T_T (My Lost Light crew must have!!)

And yes, I too fell into the trap of "Why isn't his arm folding out of tablet mode?....CRAP GUN!!"
