Transformers never cease to impress me as toys. People complain about gimmicks, but when they work so well I can't hate them.

 

That would've been cool.

 

Some things I've noticed with my time with him...

Yeah, his Animal legs could/should have folded back into his legs. In fact his rear Animal legs are one fixed piece. Extra articulation for his legs (aside from the one ball joint) would have been welcome.

He has Minifig posts on his front Alligator arms, that's where Grax is perched on in one of my pics.

His hips are quite loose and pop off quite easily. Upon closer inspection I noticed a couple of small burn marks in both the right and left socket! I suspect this first batch all had really loose hips and rather then bin the run, the factory purposefully burned the inside of the socket to try and give it a little more friction.





His big right tooth was crushed in the box, ie when it was assembled for the first time his tooth was flattened and stayed that way. I put it in the steam jet of my kettle and it put it back how it should be though.

Righty, off to tighten those legs...

 

The rubber flap is a little disappointing. I wonder how long it will last without getting all sweaty and floppy.

 

I'm liking most of the deluxes so far, but this one seems like the the most appealing in terms of fun factor. If he looks good in person, I think I'll pick him up.

 

Can someone post a picture of Skullcruncher in robot mode with Galvatron's headmaster? I'm thinking this would be a good base for a Beast Wars Megatron repaint.

Nobody has connection to his character. He barely appeared in fiction and when he did, he didn't do anything of any worth.

Ah, but he was one amazing and fun toy. So that's all the reason I need to buy this guy.

 

I think they've lost something of the original toy by not having the Headmaster cockpit in his mouth anymore. Loved that, just mad.

But yes the original was easily my favourite Decepticon Headmaster

 

He was a standup comedian in that one issue of MTMTE so I'm especially drawn to him because of that.

Can the tail thing be stored somehow in robot mode? The shoulders have holes in them, are they the proper size for 5mm pegs?

 

Well... you can pop the grey post out on the tail and store it on the back of his backpack... so he has two packs on top of each other. It looks as stupid as it sounds. Ideally the tail should have been able to clip over the Croc head, ie, like a big ol' muzzle, but alas. It can't happen.

I really don't agree, if simply by virtue of this actually having a crocodilian head, rather than just a doorstop with teeth.
