How many ports for 5mm pegs does Fort Max have in base mode? Are all of the holes in the runways 55m compatible?

The holes on the ramps are screw holes. They're way too shallow to put anything in them.

Love it except for the right bicept swivel. It's loose and doesn't ratchet well. Advice on how to fix it?

Yeah I'm digging max a lot more than metro. Of the two metro's I've had, the hip ratchets were all weird and he'd always be slumping even if he's standing up straight. Max stands up straight no problem, all my joints are pretty sturdy and ratchet well. He's a nice big bot.

Only transformed cerebros so far and he's pretty enjoyable to flip quickly between modes, dig him. Spend a bit of time getting all the stickers on except for the silver chevrons and the circles. I really dig these metallic sticker much more then the crap they printed with metroplex too. That stuff felt like paper and didn't adhere very well. I've made a couple off-centering mistakes with these stickers and they seem quite difficult to pick back up again if you mis-apply something. So that tells me they adhere quite well and won't be falling off anytime soon.

Gonna pick up some batteries today to play around with the electronics. So far though, really liking him!

Previous mold? I don't recognize this part from Metroplex. Where was it used? Did it use those apparent connection at the end as well?

The red part is metroplexs upper shoulder gun. The one that opens up to reveal a gunners seat inside.

Oh wow, I can't believe they reused that part in this way. Talk about creativity. I was sitting here trying to figure out where it attached to Fort Max by the rear part. But if it's a reused part, that explains those being leftover parts.

Got my 2nd Max because the first was so bad and honestly this toy is garbage.

Issues with the 1st (from BBTS):
Cerebros loose shoulder to the point where there's no friction on it
Top piece of the back ramp stressed, wouldn't stay on
The blue pieces on the back of the legs floppy, don't clip on at all
Feet too floppy to stay up in "transformed" mode

Issues with the 2nd (from TRU):
Cerebros loose shoulder to the point where there's no friction on it
Cerebros doesn't stay on the main body at all. Connection too loose, gimmick to activate sound decapitates Max.
The blue pieces on the back of the legs floppy, don't clip on at all
Feet too floppy to stay up in "transformed" mode

Hoping the SDCC one I ordered today isn't a total hunk of shit, too.

    For shits and giggles....

What scale do you pretend Max is at? I kinda like the idea that regular bots are Titanmaster sized. I would love a bunch of little guys that represent the big guys to add to the city mode.

Is anyone else having issue fitting cerebros into base mode? Like he refuses to fit at all.

Overall I like him the only problem I keep having is that he doesn't have as many weapons as metroplex. And his shin guns don't fit his hands. If you can pick him up he makes a great centerpiece for this new era of headmaster classics.

Try checking the pin post on the tower segment is aligned correctly when inserting cereros. I find that there's a bit of wiggle in the segment it's attached to so supporting it from underneath to keep it straight helps, and if you flip Max's horns back (silver side exposed in Cerebros' tower mode) there's a handy notch detail indicating where the pin post activated button hole is that will help you judge it.

Got Fort Max 2 weeks ago and I think it's about time I say something. I never owned a city not before so this is a really cool experience.

Cerebros is a great deluxe sized figure and I chosen standard retail over sdcc and Takara because I like his head over the Fortress head.

As of the big bit body itself. It's cool and gets a pass for its lame transformations due to its mass. This guy works as a play set so you need smaller figures to have the complete experience.

Fort Max robot mode is a massive beast of a toy. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a master sword or the blue gun that is in the box art.

    Question:

Can anyone post pics of him in a detolf? Thinking back to the times I had Metroplex displayed it seems like it might not be possible with Fort Max. Metroplex' shoulders only fit if you took the guns off but you needed them to do a dual wield pose because the struts from the removed shelf left no room for the arms to hang down. With the addition of ramps under the arms it seems like it would be a lot harder to do.

I dont have a photo but I put mine inside a detolf. You need to fold the ramps up a bit as they sit ontop of the shelf bar.

For the shin guns - The way Max's hands are molded makes it look like your're supposed to fit the tabs into that conspicuous central slot, but don't. They go into the space immediately after the fingers and before the central slot. He should hold the guns fine when you do that.

Metroplex had the regular bots be (then) Legends scale, so I use that, with the Titanmasters the size of regular people, so that Emissary = Spike. Makes sense since the Titanmasters reach up to Legends Prime and Megatron's knees like in the cartoon and movies (loosely)

But that means Cerebros is huge, since he towers over Legends Prime and Megatron.

I keep the deluxes and higher on a separate scale, since say, voyager Astrotrain or Galvatron would look ridiculous on Fort Max's and Metroplex's runways and ramps.

This is my dilemma. I have the money for fort max, but I have metroplex. I never had the city bots as a kid, so there's no sentimental value for me.
I'm actually deciding between this and the hot toys armored batman, and leaning towards batman.

    Ok thanks

I had a similar choice this week I ended up noticing a third option I didn't know was released. Kinda scary how much stuff there is these days.

This is how I would look at it. And the legends and deluxes are vehicles they park on the base/battleship, and the Voyagers are big troop deployment vessels. I suppose that also works with if they're humans.

This is embarrassing, but I cannot for the life of me figure out where the No. 20 sticker goes. The sticker guide for Fort Max is pretty bad.

    Edit: Nevermind, figured it out.
