I couldn't find a thread, so... Some of the joints are terrifyingly tight. I look apart the crotch and shaved down some of the gear pieces. That squeaking/cracking noise is not what I want to hear from this toy. I also swapped out the spark crystal. Transforming it into all of its modes was nerve-racking and frustrating. Looks great in robot mode. Dragon mode is a bit skinnier than I remember. I don't think I'll be taking him out if robot mode any time soon.
Same here. Thanks for posting the pics - I wasn't even aware of a couple of those alt modes. What bot did you take the spark crystal from? Was it easy to do?
That last photo (ostrich mode) isn't in the instruction for any version of this mold. It's just something one of the Takara designers dreamed up. I used Scarem's crystal. It's super easy, just a couple of screws. I think Gas Skunk would be even easier.
Yeah... $400-$875 is so not happening. Come on FunPub you knew this guy would be popular, why didn't you make a lot of him?
Cool figure. Not even remotely close to worth the asking price. If I really wanted it I'd just buy a RID Galvatron/Megatron and customize it. Especially since the face isn't that amazing. (also, wrong colour if you're going for a TM2 Megs homage. Should be gunmetal. But hey, the concept art was like that )
Excellent pictoral review. I too have thought about swapping his spark. I have a few spare Beast Machines spark crystals, I wonder if they fit. ADDENDUM: My TM3 Megatron is now rocking an orange Vehicon spark crystal thanks to Vehicon: Mirage.
Nice pictures...does he still have the flip-up bat muzzle in his chest for bat mode? Like here: Transformers Universe - RID Galvatron - 8 / 34
Awesome figure and love the head sculpt, but I agree, scary tight joints, especially with the hinged wing joints, which resulted in a stress mark...so he'll stay mostly in bot mode. And I'll have to figure out a substitute for the unpainted eyes, but overall, very lucky to own one.
