    Ok, good and bad.

The mold design itself is pretty good. It's a little back-top heavy and the ab crunch definitely doesn't help but he's simple, fun and gets the job done. Plus I love the light gimmicks.

But...he just doesn't belong beside my other Con MPs. Weirdly I find leader CW Megatron with his glorious silver paint to look more natural beside Soundwave than this guy does. And it isn't a height thing, it's entirely a finish thing.

Now about that ab crunch. It's effing stupid. It's constantly messing with the panel that hides the trigger, keeps the waist from rotating and as I mention above, likes to indulge that heavy backpack. The extension works but the pivot is dumb.

Lastly I've got some really loose thigh swivels that are seriously messing with his ability to strike any kind of dynamic pose. When I get off my butt a little Future should fix that right up though.

Has anyone else found the wrist balls to be a bit fragile? The ball itself is a seperate piece pinned onto the stump, and I've already had the pin on one hand pull out when I was trying to remove it from the arm.

I received mine a day ago and I'm surprised how much I like the shade of purple on him.

It really looks much better than in photos.

I've had MP-29 sitting unopened for months and finally opened him yesterday only to end up with a sad situation.

The first time transforming his right foot, the screw head broke off (you can see the screw head sitting on the detached foot in the photo). Now I have a footless Shockwave and am not sure what to do since I actually purchased it so long ago.

Did this happen to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to fix it?

    Thanks for any input.

drill out that old screw, or use a pick or something, then needlenose to get it out. Take the head and screw to the hardware store and get another.

I thought about that, though I wasn't sure if a screw that small could be drilled out successfully. Have you done that before? If so, any tips?

if your not interested in drilling it out, then get an exacto and trim out just enough to get some detail needle nose in there, unscrew it. it wont be that hard.

If you can use an X-acto to cut away just enough of the plastic to grab the tip of the screw with some pliers, you should be OK.

Thanks, both of you, for that suggestion. I may decide to go that route... I hate the thought of cutting into it though, mostly because I dread a downward spiral into worse condition. :D

Should be fine though, I used to take apart my Transformers and other toys all the time when I was a kid.

Depends on what you want out of it.
As a lifelong Shockwave fan, the only one of the three that works for me is MP-29. It is cartoon Shockwave through and through.
I would even count it as Marvel Shockwave in all but color and height (he was Megatron height in the comics).
The other two just don't do it for me. Of the two, Quakeblast looks more like the Marvel iteration, but on steroids. The other one looks bad in comparison.

No pictures sorry but they do fit on his arm ok. There's no where for them to stick to though so they can fall off quite easily, no grip and very little friction on his smooth arms.

Reposting this here (and in the MP thread) just to remind people about Shockwave's other arm articulation:

Shockwave's right arm has an extra joint inside the elbow which allows to change the position of the forearm in relation to the elbow. There are three 'clicks' which give three different positions, allowing for a deeper elbow bend.

    Middle position:

Clicked back (this allows for better saluting):

    Clicked forward:

    In the middle:

Clicked forward (notice how visible the elbow joint is now):

Allows his hand to basically touch his head:

    Much better:

Are you talking about the hose? If so, the official release is purple metal, not painted, the KO's are painted metal and it chips really easy. Best solution just let it all fall off so it can at least be one color. It will be hard to try and paint it or coat it with anything that will stay.
