Never had G1 Sky Lynx, glad I can enjoy this one. Quite impressed with transformation. This dude is wild.

So after I went and fixed the rackets on Sky Reign's hips, I've decided not to use the combined form and just keep him like this:

Got Skylynx the other day. Mine has some QC issues, stress marks, bad ratchets,I had lil peice of red platic break off on the inside of his back legs and caused some rattling. His back legs wont hold him up. Blue wings are super loose. I know there are some fixes for him, which maybe I will try or I may just track another one down,if he ever shows up in my area.

While Im happy with him and its nice to finally have him, I think he could of been way better. He should of been Leader class and been able to do both the Lynx and Bird mode. I do like seeing the fanmodes of him and maybe Ill give those a try as well and see how it works out so I at least have options. I do dig the paint and autobot logos and he looks really good despite some of his issues. I also didnt like how the back legs stick out like they do in shuttle mode,so I fold them up under the wings. Storing the the blades under the wings looks off with the wings tilted up a bit but it looks better then legs sticking out behind the shuttle. Im bummed they couldnt of found a way to hide his back legs better so they werent sticking out like that.

I really dont care for the Combiner idea,I tried it once and while he did stand up and not lean like Bruticus and Defensor,he quickly fell over cuz the ratchets are bad,and I will never use that mode anyway. I was curious to see how Takara would handle him but since theyre going the SkyReign route,I dont wanna shell out the cash for a combiner I dont want or need. He will go up with the rest of my Season 3 shelf tho.

Any tips on whats the best way to tighten the blue parts of the wings?

I'm actually planning on waiting for the UW Sky Reign set because not only would it be a way to get the mold for a good price along with four other fun molds because the prices for the CW version is too high for my taste but it'll also fix whatever QC issues the CW version is infamous for.

    Sky Reign rules the skies!

I decided to combine him with my spare Aerialbots after seeing him in IDW TF #53. Hands from Blast Offs, Victorion feet; may see Perfect Effect PC-12 whenever received.

Any idea on how to fix up the floppy blue wings? Tips, suggestions?

So after doing the mod deliciouspeter provided,I also noticed on mine the wow leggedness that other have mentioned. Is this a problem with the mold or just varies from figure to figure of Skylynx?

Finally just caved and paid the hefty markup on Amazon.

I like this figure a lot more than I thought I would. Originally just got him to fill a gap in my collection.

I did the reverse rear feet mod as well. Turned it into combiner mode 2x and that will be it for that mode.

I just did the same and paid the Amazon price too. Since the chances of finding him in the wild are dwindling.

Outside of everyone else's universal problems, back feet, tail, leg ratchets, does anyone have problems with the neck joint closest to the body? The joints held by a pin, and my is super floppy, he has a hard time keeping his head up. Anyone have a ideal fix for it?

This looks fantastic. Very nice approximation of Skylynx's bird mode. This and the fan made Lynx modes that I've seen make an already great figure even more fantastic.

I switched the tail fins, tightened the screws on the back feet, did the fix for the leg ratchets, and applied reprolabels and this figure is simply fantastic. I'll share pics here when I have the chance.

For those looking for CW Skylynx, be on the lookout at your local Ross stores.

He was spotted in North Carolina yesterday:

Just found this guy at TJ Max. I have waited 30 years to own a version of this character and I couldn't be happier !! Yeah it has its issues, but I don't care !!

I have lots of nitpicks, but overall I'm loving this guy. Like, I'd have much preferred the original's combination gimmick since I have zero intention of ever getting any limbs, but then again now he's got CATDOG MODE:
This is the robot mode now, no doubts about it.

The transformation's awfully involved for basically just getting the legs unconvincingly folded away. Particularly strange is how the rear legs stick out of the back instead of going into the gap in front of the Lynx head. I wonder if that was a late-ish change?
The belly has molded details resembling landing gear, which is all sorts of bizarre considering how the entire underbelly makes no attempt to look like anything.

Debating on whether to flip those small wings backwards or not. Surprised they're painted on both sides.

Still, as I said, great toy. He pairs nicely with Cosmos!

I need more space bots now.

Recently got this guy and I'd like to do the ratchet fix for mine. Is the plastic from, say, a gift/credit card too thick for the bit you need to raise the ratchet tooth?

Not sure about a credit card but, I used an old grocery store keyring card (the kind you scan for deals/sales at checkout) and it worked perfectly. The thickness of the keyring cards is a little thinner than your average gift/credit card.

I just folded up a piece of regular paper and it did the job.

Okay, I *do* love be my space cat dragon, but a few irritants, some of them already stated, some not.

Cockpit resting above fuselage- seems a bit more pronounced on mine than other photos I've seen:

The blue flip out chest panel keeps on slipping out slightly when transforming. It's only ever completely fallen off once but I know it's there and that's annoying:

Likewise the blue feet can have a tendency to snap out of the leg:

And is it me or do the 'paws' angle inwards in a pronounced kind of way?

So I do like him but these things kind of niggle at me.

I don't have one available yet so if someone could help me out. I know you can do the quadruped combiner mode like in the united comic strips it is there any way to incorporate the dino-bird into the combined form?
