Is it at all possible to get some pictures of Quillfire with Strongarm? He *looks* like some kind of retooling but I wouldn't ind comparison/side-by-sides to see if that's actually the case.

You are incorrect. I double checked the Hasbro promo renders of his toy and there don't appear to be any parts in common with Strongarm. That and his transformation is completely different. It looks like on Quillfire:

•The doors and side windows form his forearms
•The headlights and side bumpers form his shoulders
•The hood and front grill form his hunched neck and upper body

Whereas on Strongarm:

•The doors and side windows end up as back kibble
•The headlights, bumpers, hood, and grill form her arms
•Her upper body is entirely faux-parts that don't integrate into the alt mode.

The only thing Quillfire and Strongarm have in common is a bulky build and a sort of boxy SUV truck alt mode. And by that metric, Quillfire is a remold of every version of Bulkhead, too.

 

Too bad there are so few RID toys, I really like them. It's almost Animated all over again.

 

He definitely scanned the same model of 4x4 for his alt mode that Bulkhead did tho  

So, is his animal influence meant to be Porcupine? That's the only thing I can think of fires quills.. Any way up, he looks great, and if I see him at retail, I'll get him and Mr Antlers. And if I don't see them at retail.. Well, then I'll get the TAV releases with hopefully nicer paint.

Quilfire looks awesome! I have all the TakaraTomy decepticon versions pre ordered.in case I don't find them in retail or they look worse then what I'd pay the same amount for by Takara. Thunderhoof in those pics looks horrendous but its strait out of the box I'm sure once Takara poses him & paints him he could look better. I'm leaning on the oh so accurate three step "BIG THUNDERHOOF" from the easy dynamic line in japan since husai designed those they
look fantastic. Articulation be damned

But this quilfire is gold

The outside colored clip on wheels Just extruding from the body with a color not black like the tires continues. Hasbro for the cheap again. I'm honestly seeing the designers talking about any other possible ways they can cheapen attaching wheels to vehicles. Hell maybe vehicle modes will now come glued on like they are doing now with robot heads instead of one tiny metal screw to hold them together. Wait Damn I just gave the designers another way to cheapen the product reduce costs and pay Vietnam factory workers even less.

I don't think Hasbro.has release dates. Unlike japan which tends to mostly have them (bar delays)

Got Quillfire yesterday and I absolutely love him. My only gripe is the lack of marking on his head. Hopefully reprolabels will fix that.

 

The galleries at Seibertron have him, too. Where is everyone picking him up already?

Very cool man two awesome scores you.made! And I cant wait til TakaraTomy releases all these in their deco. I.already have them pre ordered at 16 a piece (Decepticons up to date. Not these 2 yet but fracture Springload Megatronus ect. I can't find a pre order for takara's Thunderhoof yet other then USA prices)

 

He looks awesome but if only the warriors weren't so hollow. Buying the takara version.

Why should it be black? Tons of vehicles don't have black rims/hubs/whatever.
