She looks amazing despite some of the faults she has. She's on my MP to get list for sure along with Optimus Primal.

Is it possible she has a thin coat of red paint over red plastic like MP-10?

I'll wait for her to go down in price on like, Mandarake or something, but I will pick her up. Our dollar is just so, so bad right now.

Is it bad that "Roadie" is going to "pop" my Masterpiece virginity?

Because there's only ONE valid opinion, right? :rolleyes2

If only people could learn to be a little more tolerant of other people's differing opinions... It certainly would make the world a lot nicer, I'm sure.

    Crybabies? Puh-leeze.

Maybe we just aren't in love with him and are equally sick of people telling us we're wrong and whining about the whiners.

No. Isn't my favorite mold but there are definitely worse to start with IMHO.

Favorite? I probably would have to go with MP-10. It just tickles all the right notes for me. Playable, articulate, childhood toy nostalgia. Is it perfect? Nope, but I adore it.

After that would be a toss between the Datsun bros, Wheeljack and Bee. least would be Hasbro Roddy pre-10 and Magnus post-10. Tracks mold is at the lower end of the post-10 releases for me.

Road Rage is interesting in that the mold is just ok but was brought up for Tracks by character and paint for me. Rage doesn't have that but I do think the transformation into fembot worked pretty well so that's a plus in my book.

    Hmmmm...what did I miss?

After nearly a week with her, I am happy to report that the problems I have were the only problems. It is still there, but otherwise there is nothing else to fault this figure.

I guess after playing with her for a while, the issues I had with her became tolerable. She is not the best MP, but a worthy entry nevertheless.

With the yellow and black repaints imminently coming, I hope they will fix some of the issues with her and return this mold to its sturdy self ala Tracks.

In the end, it is your decision.

Indeed she does. Got mine this morning, and Like Tracks, she is 100% painted! It's definitely a thin layer of glossy (for the most part) red paint (like MP-10, but glossy this time). Mine even has a few little, almost imperceptible, inconsistencies. Like Tracks, the tell-tall sign is under her feet, you can clearly see what the unpainted plastic looks like.

Huh? I am pretty sure she is not painted red except for the chest area where red is painted over the clear plastic.

Yellow? I know black's been assumed for a while, but I don't see why Binaltech Yellow would make an appearance in the MP line, unless you're privy to some rumblings stating otherwise.

Take a look at the undersides of her feet. Or inside the doors when you open them to fill out her back. There's the unpainted plastic. Its a slightly different shade, and noticeably less gloss.

Also, at least on mine, the sideview mirrors had a lot of paint pooling where they attach to the sprue. Finally, also at least on mine, its very noticeable around the panel lines on the car, such as the doors, where the paint pulls away from the edges of the line a bit, revealing a slightly darker edge. This is a typical sign of a thin layer of paint, especially in reds and yellows.

I just received her from HLJ and in general I think the mold changes are a step forward from Tracks. The chest pins that connect at the shoulders were remolded from pins to slots and they seem to hold together better. The only negative is that I can't get the neck to lock into anything.

As to the gun, it does lock in as well. The gun has two handles, a short and long one. When you have it in short mode there is a tab behind the grip that fits into the slot on her hand and secures the weapon in place. I can hold her by the gun and shake a bit before it falls off. I put a picture below for clarity.
