Barebones release for sure. The only accessory is a translucent orange holo pilot, but that's ok as most of us MP collectors already have a few Megatron guns. Box, card, and instructions are standard. The instructions look to be identical to Skywarp's, with no references to the cartoon like Starscream's. QC on my example is excellent. The figure's about as tight as MP-11 Skywarp, far tighter than my floppy first run TT MP-11 Starscream. Paint apps are perfect - no blemishes. The only issues are some sprue marks on the legs and one of the thin rods between his thrusters was slightly bent out of the box, complete with a stress mark. One of the wings popped off the first time I transformed it but it popped right back on. Never had that happen before with an MP-11, but it hasn't happened on subsequent transformations. The head slides into the ring during transform with more ease than my Starscream and Skywarp. I wasn't expecting the deco to look this good in hand. The combination of this shade of blue, the shiny silver paint, and the orange canopy is stunning. Far more eye catching than the earlier Hasbro Thundercracker with its more toy accurate dark blue, yellow canopy, obnoxious tattoos, and dull grey plastic. It should also be noted that TT Thundercracker's insignia are a lighter, more cartoony purple compared to Hasbro's. They're also smaller and splayed out. On to some turnarounds! [/IMG]
man, i wish i could like that blue but i just can't. if i could get the blue of the hasbro one with the canopy and paint of this guy, that'd be perfect.
Blame my photos - they're not 100% accurate to the colors. He's really a good bit darker and more vibrant than he appears in my shots. Sixo's pics are more accurate.
Here's a quick dirty phone pic I took in natural light. Really wish I could capture his blue. Warm, bright, and vivid in hand. Photos don't do it justice.
I just received Thundercracker from a local seller and he's pretty nice. I'm a bit irritated by the lack of a flight stand. Plus my copy has a loose chest assembly. The first set of pics, as you said, don't do it justice. The colors look really desaturated. It definitely looks more like a Thundercracker blue as shown in your last pic. All I need now is Skywarp, but I'm not trying to pay $230 for him on TFsource. I'll hold out hope that Hasbro will make him eventually (he is the last seeker to do after all)
I have uploaded a review over on my blog which I have written whilst recovering for a heavy night out... If you fancy a quick read, please check it out at: Toybox Soapbox: Transformers Masterpiece MP-11T Thundercracker review Let me know what you think, all feedback greatly appreciated Takara have put out a decent toy and in most respects it is pretty great. But with such a lofty price tag it doesn't quite feel as luxorious as Takara releases often do and with virtually no accessories it all feels a bit bare bones. Still a great figure in it's own right though.
