Can someone strap Silverbolt's rifle to his shoulder? That's about as close to his G1-animation cannon as we're going to get, I'd say. ... oooooh, other than Animated Swindle's cannon. Anyone have that?
I always thought he was supposed to be based on the Chenowth Light Strike or Advanced Light Strike Vehicle, kinda like the NEST jeeps from the Bayverse films.
I see this Swindle as pretty much an updated/greebed up version of the XR311 vehicle that the G1 toy was based on. I don't have an issue with the vehicle mode, and think it's pretty nice myself, at least by CW standards (though any CW flying thing drags down the grading curve to some degree)
Did you paint the hands? I got him the other day. I like him but Im not use to Swindle being so beefy. I can plug in his gun behind his head as my gun as it had the nubs on it,which I think looks nice. I dont like that you can see his hands in altmode,would of like to been able to hide them better. Mine is also a lil gappy on the right side in altmode. I also think his gun should of been bigger too especially since hes so ripped,it looks so small on him. I would love for a 3rd party to come up with extra weapons for him and the rest of the Combaticons. Im curious to see how he would of looked like using the First Aid or Offroad mold. I think that would been an interesting take on him.
I don't mind the beefy swindle. I really enjoyed the rook mold and swindle changes the mold up nicely to feel like a new toy. My only issue is I wish his head sculp had a smirk and not a frown face.
Took a few photos with my preferred weapons for him. Deciding between Animated Swindle's cannon and CW G2 Superion's.
THIS. well stated. I really like the majority of the CW guys but this mold is overly ornate and the alt mode is kind of a mess. It's a fun toy though. The robot mode makes up for much of what I dislike about the Cybertronian dune buggy thing.
This actually helps...Thank you and thanks to PlankEpoch for finding that vehicle. If this is a coincidence, it's a pretty amazing one. It doesn't make me like the alt mode any more but it makes it feel less of a stretch for sure.
Swindle looks awesome fully armed and by using a knockoff Defensor gun I gave him his arm cannon. WOO!!!
I picked this guy up on a whim, and I have to say how much I love this figure. Onslaught and Brawl were underwhelming, but if you were to pick up just one Combiner Wars figure, this would be the one. He's got great articulation, great paint apps, great QC, and an awesome head sculpt befitting our beloved arms dealer. Pick him up!
Agreed - he's the only Combaticon I've picked up, and the only one I intend to. He looks great in both modes, oozes personality and feels like a great update to a classic character.
I like this fig as well BUT he does need a couple more apps IMHO. (I added the silver on the lights and black on the arm rails). He pretty great with just those few extra apps though I do agree he's a tad "over detailed".
Yeah, a few paint apps could definitely improve him, some jeep doors to cover the fists in alt mode would have been nice, and an arm cannon accessory would have been aces. Still, I have Superion (with Blades and Alpha Bravo instead of Air Raid and Slingshot because distribution), Menasor, and 3/5ths of Bruticus (so the only base molds I don't have are Air Raid, groove, and Takara Blast Off/Strafe) and overall this is my favorite of the CW deluxe molds so far and a close second to Silverbolt in terms of overall engineering for these combiner figures. This figure really makes me want to pick up Rook, and possibly Hound.
Only things I'm not a fan of are the baby blue booby-window chest details (They should've been red or something), and the visable fist syndrome in Jeep mode (both of which I mention in my own video review of the figure).
I just discovered a weird piece of functionality on Swindle that I hadn't heard about. Any thoughts on what it's for? Basically, Swindle's shoulders have little ridges on them that, in vehicle mode, line up perfectly with the width of the HFG. It seems like the HFG was made to be plugged onto Swindle's roof... backwards. Why? I mean... I guess it looks cool. You could say the cannons on the HFG look like thrusters... for a jeep. In any case, it seems to perfect to be an accident. Thoughts?
Maybe left over tooling from Rook? No idea otherwise, though I love the colour matched gun. It almost looks like Swindle has rocket boosters now.
