    Argument?

Why would I think you're starting an argument? You're stating your opinion. Sensible people have differing opinions and are allowed to express those opinions and criticisms.

My Tracks' hood sits flush, but I believe it was designed to be a hair short so that we can get a fingernail in there and flip the hood up for that specific gimmick. I don't mind it. It's not any worse to me than the gappy sides on the Lambo cars.

Nah, that was just my disclaimer in case you were one of those people that get all hot headed when someone disagrees. Glad you're not. :)

I'm finding myself surprised overall by how much I'm still enjoying Tracks!

By comparison, I got Mastermind's Sphinx (which many are really loving!) a few days ago, and I'm finding him underwhelming: There are loose joints here and there, and things that don't quite want to stay where they're supposed to be in both bot and car modes on Sphinx.

For Tracks, I don't find the backpack issues as bothersome as most. There was a bit of a learning curve with how to pose him. But, once I got used to how he works, I didn't have difficulties with him coming "de-transformed" in bot mode. With Sphinx, there's not really any fixing those parts that don't hold together right. (And posing Sphinx's head with the rocket launcher attached is a nightmare!)

I am one who finds Tracks' transformation very engaging! I find it less frustrating than the Datsun or Lancia mold, and just as engaging & satisfying as the Lambo mold. I love that once he's in car mode he is pretty dang solid.

I do have a slight hood issue, which is a bother. But, for me, not nearly as much of a bother as (in my case) Sphinx's shoulders not staying pushed in in car mode, or his front wheels not staying in position.

I'd say Tracks is still a step down from the Hasui MPs, but still pretty good. I just wish he had 90 degree articulation on his elbows and knees!

I got Tracks a couple of days ago and I love him. Easily my second favourite car MP after Bumblebee. Yeah, the hollowness of the backpack is lame, but I can live with it. He just has so much personality and presence. That face sculpt is what really shines to me. Really, really glad I got him.

Got mine yesterday. Very nice, for the most part! I don't mind the backpack, though it looks bad from the side. I like the transformation, it's easier for me than the datsuns and Wheeljack. The thing that concerns me are the hood joints. Not an issue in car mode, but during transformation I was afraid I would rip the hood halves right off.

Watch this video starting at 22:35.
His chest untabbing issue is what happens to me- but mine seems a little more loose.

If it helps, trying pulling the car doors back out, away from his back, after tabbing in the backpack (as best as you can) and finishing the rest of the transformation. If you pull out each door far enough, it should actually 'click' and you'll find that the backpack is now rock solid.

    Hope it works. :)

EDIT: Just read that again and wanted to clarify that I'm not dismissing the original issue at all - I do see what you're saying, and especially from emgo's video. I think the above might be a solution. :)

I'll play with it... But before doing so I have to say that my issue is more on the chest untabbing and not the backpack / doors.

But I will look at the doors again

No, I get that - I probably wasn't clear, but the method I mention is to lock the backpack in place. Don't ask me why it works, but it does!

    It's a good thing he's pretty.

    Accessories
Those have never been selling points for me. If he only had his gun and flying mode gun, I'd be fine.

    Car Mode
    Beautiful

    Flying Car Mode
    Beautiful

    Transformation
Meh, a tiny piece broke off by one of the rockets. It won't hinder the look of the car, but it's still annoying.

    Robot Mode
    1. He looks good.
    2. Has decent articulation, though the wings are in the way of the shoulders. That bugs me.
    3. His head not locking into place bugs me.
    4. The backpack doesn't bug me.

It's hard to explain, but he feels like the team got about 90% there and decided, "Good enough. Who's next?" He's not terrible, but he is my least favorite carbot. Had the first carbot been this Tracks, I'd probably love him. At this point in the line, however, I expect better.

Still, he is damn purty :D

    Have fun, all!

Alright, I can pose him without the chest untabbing due to the Earth's rotation.

The key, for me, is to hold him with my thumb on his chest and my middle finger kinda snaking up under his backpack to where the doors come together in the back. It's kind of uncomfortable. But it's what I have to do.

I wish I can hold him by the doors. It's be much easier.

Sorry for the slight de-railment, but has anybody read the tfwiki bio for G1 Tracks? If not I strongly suggest you drop everything else and read it. Hysterical!

WOW, talk about innuendos! Great write up indeed! I like him even more now!

(love that he was voiced after Thurston Howells III)

So uh. I know I'm late to the party. I've been out of work for a few months, so I haven't bought many TFs. Got a job again, and I'm ready to pick up all the cool stuff I missed.

What's the cheapest place to get an MP Tracks? I found an eBay listing for what seems like a price too good to be true. Is this a KO?

Mp-25 is being sold quite cheaply in HK, you can get it for 250 HKD (32 USD) in some hobby shops. That's almost as cheap as the KOs, so it's hard to tell by price alone. I don't think the KO is out yet.

I just bought this from a vendor at a convention. As far as I can tell it looks legit. But I have some lingering doubt due to the collector card included.

The corners of the card aren't rounded like every other Masterpiece collector card I have. They are hard corners with zero radius. Is this correct? The art on the card and info looks right, it's just those corners.

I got Tracks right out of the gate and the corners of my Bio-card are not rounded either,
