See I LIKE Ironhide. I loved the character in G1, I love Movie Ironhide..so far, for me, every incarnation of Ironhaide has been pretty tight- to down right kick ass.

    This isnt it.

In my mind..I just always think of a more "tough guy"..a BRUTE. This mold just isnt it for me. Does it look decent? Sure as hell does. Is it a good "Ironhide"? I dunno. Im gunna have to cook on that a bit. Im probably a lil biased about this mold because I hate the arm articulation that has those panels getting in the way all the time. and the front of a truck on his back. This mold fit Offroad ok for a new guy, but for Ironhide? Its awkward in bot mode. its not horrible, but its not great either. The juicy red plastic has a gloss that makes you want to see if it tastes like cherry. Trust me, It does NOT. The colors are really nice..sparse paint apps in bot mode just make him a bit boring to me. Ill hit this with the brushes and im sure I will like it more.

Truck mode gets it done. G1 orange-y stripe down the sides tells you exactly who he is. Painted wheels..NICE! Put the massive hand/weapon engine in the back and he is passable as a decent ironhide.

In bot mode it just looks weak. I love the red plastic, its very nice, and a G1 "Centurian" looking head that is ALMOST there..but part of me still looks at this and sees Ironhide's kid brother.

Sorry to say, Ironhide is the Stinker of the wave. Its just not Ironhide for me. A decent toy and CW transformer he is by all means, but if your looking for an ironhide and dont care about CW..I would stick with the classics.

The best part of these guys is that my 7 year old is BLOWN AWAY by the G1 autobots, combining with a G1 looking Prime. My son LOVES this shit right here, and says the autobots combining with prime is the best thing from CW so far....What can I say? he likes what he likes, and this one he is going crazy for, just as much, as the mighty Devestator.

    Comes with combiner wars #15

Eh, more than enough of an Ironhide for me, especially since I've got no way of finding an old Universe one and hate the mould anyway. Though I admit I'm rather biased in that I actually like the Offroad mould. Colour me satisfied, I just need it to actually show up near me.

I can probably give his axe to Chromia and attach the handfootgun to his wrist port for a pseudo-movie-style cannon look.

I actually thought I took a pic of that, but didnt, sorry. The Axe is a throw away for this guy. I was going to use TFP Rumble's arm cannons and I think it will save it a bit.

In order of best to worst IMO (going by pics alone), I would say

    Mirage
    Prowl
    Ironhide
    Sunstreaker

While I do quite like the Offroad mold, I don't think its works particularly well for a representation of G1 Ironhide. Although there is no better choice available. It does help that this is Ironhide's G2 vehicle mode and almost the same robot mode configuration. I think I would like a repaint of this as G2 Ironhide.

Bleh, this is a pass for me. I want a Generations Ironhide but this guy ain't him. The head sculpt is only so-so, the backpack doesn't work, why didn't they just use the First Aid Mold design to give us a van, so on.

Plus... no new weapon? That is just LAZY.

Not really a good look for Ironhide to me, but then again, there's no other CW mold that would've really worked for him either.

Don't like this one. Alt mode is fitting, but the robot mode just feels way too skinny and un-Ironhide like. Wish they'd gone with the Rook mold instead.

Works for me. Mind has been skewed to accept a Pickup Ironhide for some while now..

What does he look like side on with his weapon sitting on his flatbed?

G2 Gobots Ironhide would have been my preferred redeco...hopefully it still happens before the mold is retired...

I'm planing on using TF: Prime Kup's cannons.

Also you switched Prowl's and Marriage's hand/ foot/ guns in you OpMax photos.

It looks nothing like Ironhide. But I think I love it.

I was going to skip this guy, but now he's really giving me Animated Ironhide vibes so I'm going to repurpose him.

looks great with some light. The guys that are really good at taking pics with light boxes and all that will have fun with these.

My son thinks Ironhide is a tow truck. the thumb on his weapon being able to pull around certain CW cars. Mirage actually has a notch on his wing like its almost meant to do that.

It looks like it's mostly the flash screwing with it-- I have the same problem when trying to photograph my own figures that have silvery painted faces. Like, my CW Rodimus comes out looking like he has no mouth when I use the flash.

Guys... I'll be the 1st to tell you I'm not great at photography. The colors on these are VERY well thought out. Even ironhide has that "RTS windcharger" metal flake red plastic.

My disappointment last night was really due to bad lighting and I was pretty tired.

I just try to be as honest as I can. I haven't had to do reviews since MI got the 1st DOTM stuff. 1st impressions... Then I'll tell ya what I think a bit after the honeymoon is over..

Then don't use the flash, I almost never do.

I was trying to in spots just to show they have eyes and such.. But yea.. I discarded alot of the flash pics. I would take a pic with and without flash, then pic the best looking most were without, but you can't see the painted eyes and some detail.
