Thank you, and I just got it today :D

Anyone have an idea of what weapon might suit him? I'm thinking of some kind of minicon so they can "sit" on his back in his dino mode...

I know that this is random but can anyone take a pic of him holding Optimus's axe?

The red Arms Micron sword works nicely with him in robot mode. Sadly the peg on B2 is too far forward for him to hold it as a substitute for his double barreled gun.

Which one is that? Is that the one that can combine into 1 sword? Bird, Trylobite, and Crocodile?

I just got my gold Grimlock today & I must say I like it better than the black & green version I have. The dino knees aren't overly stiff & the robo knees have a better ratchet-action (less soft) in my Goldie. while I like the more g1-ish homage in the colors I do wish the "gold" was less Movie figure Grimlock bronze.

How are the elbows on yours? I like the new head sculpt, if I get this, I might use it with my CYBERverse figures.

mine don't feel like he needs to be subject to great stress just to use those joints. I don't see stress marks or worse being an issue unless abused unlike my show color version(which relegates that one to the shelf) while goldie looks like he could become a desk figure to be played with.

I have both the green and gold version of grimlock and can confirm that the problematic elbow has been fixed, the forearm has been retooled so that the plastic is much thicker at the point where the stress break occurred, in the original it was very thin

Might get this, then. I like the way it looks, and there hasn't been a decent Deluxe Grimlock since... ever?

You can actually see the retool quite clearly in package, as soon as I noticed that I decided to buy the repaint!

THis is my first RID figure. Not overly impressed with the plastic quality. There are stress marks at the tail/leg joint where the tail opens up from the legs, and it feels very flimsy. Got to take care of that joint when playing him. I hope for a Takara release which uses gold, as shown on the packaging art.

I'm not seeing a difference at all with my two, in hand. I haven't had the problem at all with my first Grimlock. Is it possible that the first one was retooled during its release?

This Grimlock design works quite well in G1-esque colors, though the gray is a bit much (and a bit light) in dino mode. The elbow joints on mine are holding so far. One is great, while the other is clicky enough to be a potential concern.

Interesting, the green area that would break originally had a rounded edge and was very thin just as it met the ratchet piece in the elbow, the retool it is a flat edge and obviously thicker, next time I see a green version on shelf I'll look to see if its changed.

I'd agree, I have felt grimlock and drift, they do feel quite light and flimsy, though sufficient for the most part, annoyingly my drifts head came off (the neck is a screw) and because of the way it is constructed it is impossible to actually screw the head back on because the thorax is glued together and you have to access the neck screw from the inside...

One of mine is also very clicky, on green this clicky one punched through the elbow, with the gold version the new tool should be able to hold that strain, it appears considerably stronger.
