    Another day, another MP.
I will not go into detail as to the toy itself as it is similar with MP21 albeit some very minor cosmetic differences.

Off the bat, I would like to say the gold is more of a muted gold and does not really shine like the product pics seem to depict. But I would also like to add that the whole body of the car is painted unlike MP21. There are no inconsistent paint job and MP21G excels in that department.

The detailing can be seen and it is very crisp.
One thing to note is also the joints seem to be tighter compared to MP21.

    The obligatory box shot

The coin packaging, and one thing to note is the coin itself is gold.

The innards contain the usual MP fare with a little difference. The flip / rotate insignia is absent and it is replaced with stickers. You have the chance to sticker up MP21G either in the standard Autobot symbol or the G2 one.

There are also other stickers like "I <3 New York" and some random other bits that homages the original G2 outlook.

Different face swaps. It comes with the standard MP21 face and a smiley one.

Jetpack attachment. One thing to note is if you look from the rear, the jetpack is very hollow and the rocket boosters were cut off to accomodate the clearance needed for the jetpack attachment.

Question is - do I really need him? If you are MP collector and purist like me, yes I would say so. However if you just need one BB MP, go for this. The paintjob is consistent and the quality of the joints have been improved somewhat.

As for me, I rate him 7/10. Some points were knocked off because simple the fact that this is a remold and repaint.
But dont let that detract you from a very fine, nice and small package.

Great photos as usual! I think I may like this better than the original. The gold looks a little better to me than the school bus yellorange.

Awesome! You got this guy nice and early eh? :)

A couple of the stickers actually homage the comics as Bumblebee appears in the movie-comic:

    which is particularly cool.

Oh wow, those stickers make him go perfectly with G2 Lambor!

Now, do I buy or not? I didn't get G2 Lambor, but I'd have to pick him up if I got this release because I'm crazy like that. I think they're both fantastic releases.

And that bumper sticker comes from the G1 episode "City of Steel"... Love that too!

Thank you for the beautiful photos and review!

Go for it. I think the G2 Lambor is perhaps the best looking of all the MP carbots. The colors just pop on him. Especially the red windows. And you can 'to beat the screaming 90's face, guns, sword and shoulder pads.

I'm mostly liking the G2 Bumblebee. Everything looks sharp. My only complaints are the jet pack is disappointing. And the Gold color is a little too close to his original yellow. They might have been better off releasing a white or red variant between the two to make them more distinct.

Thanks for the review TC :thumb

I have one on pre-order without really knowing if I actually want it. The current MP Bumblebee is a fun little figure, but I absolutely don't care for Bumblebee. Goldbug is far more important to thanks to the Marvel Comics.

I don't think this is an acceptable Goldbug stand in, but it does look to be a nicer colorwise and more quality looking Bumblebee than MP-21.

Yes, it looks like a good painted G1 Bumblebee, without the exosuite and with more stickers.
    And that is... interesting.

Excellent review, but I am still debating on whether to keep my preorder.

    easy pass for me.

The jetpack is no incentive to me, as the exquisite quality of that Exosuit is a surely underrated feature of BB as a package.

I LOVE the paint and color on Bee. I just dont need this one.

Great pics and review as always!

Looks like Hasbro Asia released MP-21G a week earlier than Japan.

Pass for me too. The only MP gold beetle I need will be Goldbug. Until then, I can do without this.

I do wish TakaraTomy would spread new mold MP releases out more evenly throughout the year. New molds always seem to get released nearer the end of the year/start of the year, making mid-year feel so barren.

He looks much better than I anticipated. Maybe I shouldn't have skipped his pre-order.

Looks good, thanks for the review TC.

Just wish they had gone the extra mile and done a proper Goldbug. This is close but not there. But I'm keeping my order.

Just like the others that are already satisfied with their bee im also tempted to cancel my pre order but i know i won't do it. I just hate regretting it later and it became a habit for me to buy it at release for the coin. But no question this is a great toy but not really a big fan of g1 bee, this will look great with silver streak.

I just bit the bullet on this, love the mold and I like all the extras that come with it. My dilemma is which faction symbol to use? I'm leaning towards putting a G1 on one side and a G2 on the other. That way he can serve as either a G1 Bumblebee, a G1 Goldbug, or a G2 Bee. Any thoughts?

Finally pulled the trigger to get this Bumblebee from HLJ and after that went sold out! This was my day of good luck! :)
I skipped the original MP-21. Price and shipping to Chile for this one was very reasonable.
This one will be my G1 Bee. Don't really care for the G2 logos and the faceplate. Putting an G1 logo and a normal face will be fine ;)

I love this version of the mold. It's like having G1 toon bee, g1 comic Bee, G1 Goldbug, and G2 Bee all rolled into one.

The mold was fantastic the first time around but I think I like this one even better.

I can't recall, but was this version ever in the cartoon series or comics? Or is it just a bumblebee repaint like they always do with other characters.

He was just barely in the G2 comic. He wasn't colored any differently and still had his G1 cartoon head.
