finally ordered this set with the PE addon elbows and G1 guns from BBTS. I wanted to get the proper cab, crane, and scooper thing set as well(but couldnt care less about the Prowl head), but do the items in that set come painted? Or are they plain plastic?

 

A mix. The purple parts are molded plastic, the green parts are molded plastic. Anything silver is painted. They're quite nice, visually. The Prowlestator head has some of the best paint apps I've ever seen.

 

sweet thanks, I mainly meant the mixmaster cab windows but if the prowl head is great than I have no worries about this set. Thanks for the hasty answer

 

got him from fedex today and spent a nice hour fiddling around and combining them and damn that size is impressive. Picks just didnt do it justice. and he locks together so well. I am very happy with how he turned out. Could he have been better? Yeah, but for the price, we got a steal.
Which guns(canonically) go to which contructicon? That little instruction sheet blows. Better pics of how to store the guns on Devy's rear?

 

And the freakin tab that holds scrappers shovel in foot config broke upon taking Devy apart the first time. I think Ill be okay and he should stand okay when i recombine him, otherwise Ill finesse something when I combine him for final display

 

Anyone have a Scrapper they're looking to sell? Broken tab or not is okay. Mine broke and I sent it to Hasbro to get replaced and now I'm short one.

-You sent your broken Scrapper to Hasbro.
-You're waiting for your replacement.
-While you're awaiting said replacement, you're seeking another Scrapper.
-One in which you don't mind if it is broken.

 

Well, to elaborate, Hasbro sent me an entire new Devastator, which is why I'm short 1 Scrapper. I want to give the old set to my son. =)

Since it's a very common "problem" with the figure (that tab that locks the shovel into place when he's a foot), I'm almost assured he would be a sought after figure when in not-broken condition. If I can get a broken one, I'll try my darnedest to hack together a fix. I just didn't bother trying with mine, as Hasbro said they'd do me a solid and replace it (little did I know, they'd send a whole other set).

 

Yes the cab is fully painted.

I tried that unsuccessfully so I figured I'd just ask Hasbro if I could buy one or something before trying other repair options. I was pleasantly surprised when they said I could RMA it for a replacement. Maybe it was the Christmas spirit, as I broke it shortly after getting it back then.

Now, I'm not wholly shocked they sent me another full set (I had an inkling they'd mess that up) - though I was pretty shocked that they sent me the SDCC set even though I just had the regular one I got from TRU. Wouldn't have even imagined they'd have those kicking around still.

 

Been fiddling around with my set again the last couple days and I really cant understand Mixmaster. Everyone else essentially looks like their toon or toy equivilant, Long Haul is a general sacrifice for being the hips so I forgive him, but Mixy? From the reverse alt mode to the oddball overly Decepticony logo head, he just puzzles me. He almost feels like a replacement member to me. Has there ever been an official reasoning from hasbro why he is so different from the source material? Even trying to work it in my head, I cant see the engineering being too bad to flip him around

 

Newer cement mixers have the cabs reversed. Plus, less plastic to use, one would assume. The PE kit's cab is a big chunk of plastic, most of the 3rd party kits are as well. Probably designed it that way to cut corners and costs and blamed it on the new mixer design. Aside from being reversed in vehicle mode, Mixmaster's an alright figure. I have no problem with him, especially now that the cab nose has been fixed via 3rd party kit.

That said, as is, out of the box he's a bit wonky but grows on you.

 

I worry about the Tab on Scrapper on my UW set,heck Ive kept them in Altmode and Robot mode most of the time Ive had them and only did the Devastator Mode a couple times.

 

Not sure how, but ive heard of less issues with UW, although im not sure how they could have made that tab stronger. Your fear is warranted as I snapped mine off the first time I took Scrapper out of foot mode. Now I am extra careful, despite all my gorilla glue usage.

And yeah I know newer cement mixers are reversed, but its still super odd since every other member looks like they stepped out of the cartoon. Mixy has grown on me, but i still have trouble reconsiling it since he was my only constructicon as a kid, and lets me frank, that drum is a huge waste of plastic that does nothing.

 

Tab on my Scrapper broke off the other day, due to me forgetting it was tabbed in there. Now it needs a rubber band to hold him together in combined mode.

I did online chat with Hasbro and they don't have any more to do a replacement, so they offered me to ship it back for something of equal value or a $10 coupon. I chose the coupon and gave a side-jab that the Japanese release seemed better.  

Has a repair been discovered to fix it if it becomes damaged?

 

oh wow, 9 months since this guy came out. seems like it was back in october...

 

So is there any way to fix the broken peg that connects Hooks cab or am I screwed?

 

lotsa plastic cement or gorilla glue to get that tab back in place
