Hey SG, are you locking in Scrapper's shovel in leg mode? It should click into place pretty snug and securely against the top of his robot back. I didn't do this at first and thought it meant that Devastator could topple forward on that side thanks to the shovel's movement, but now I can't see it happening at all.

Bonecrusher's crotch piece still likes to come apart fairly easy on mine.

 

*Facepalm and Sigh* Cool is a term I use to say "M'kay, great for you". If you like the figure, great for you, but I don't care for Takara's Devastator one bit.

 

While I do recognize that the Takara version will be infinitely superior... I still plan on getting this. I want my Devastator badly and since I know for a fact that fewer people are going to go for the US release, this is a surefire way to get my hands on it. That's not to say I don't see its faults for what they are, and if I really can't stand them I can always double-dip when the Takara one comes out and use their versions of Scrapper, Long Haul and Hook instead (the other three still have alright US releases in my book.)

After seeing what I have seen so far, the Takara isn't worth it to me. This hasbro version will work just fine.

And before the flame demons dive upon me, for even saying anything negative about the Takara.. I'll say I really don't like that purple chrome.

Plus I can see myself doing good a paint job on this guy.. So if I do a paint job I must get 2. As when I paint one, it goes on my shelf, and I will still need one to play with, with my boy. So for me, I will be 100% satisfied with hasbro on this run. Being a toy to play with and a non MP release.. Im fine with the small cuts

With everything that's going on.. All the cuts.. All the companies closing doors.. For hasbro to still release stuff like this is amazing... No hate from this side.

 

Snake eyes bro..the TT one doesn't have any purple chrome. It's the the SDCC one with purple chrome.

I'll definitely be skipping this version of the Takara one, which looks to be better in almost every way, but either way this looks like a fun figure for both collectors and kids!

 

First off, I'll say that this set looks better than I thought it would. Devy looks nice and imposing, and fully combined this set is great.

I however pose my bots individually, so I'm waiting for TakTom's version.

 

You're right, I am obsessed with it.

He doesn't look terrible at all. Devastator himself is the one thing that's consistently good among the various versions.

 

These look far better than expected. Wish Hasbro would step up their photo game.

For whatever reason GaGa (thanks for the review btw  ) missed his, and had one of his legs facing the wrong direction in the pics where he was standing straight up, idk why, my guess is it's an accident, or a stability issue

 

The review is GREAT and much appreciated. Seriously though, it's hard to put lipstick on a pig because at the end of the day, it's still a pig.

 

^Whaaatt???!!! If Devy is a pig, then that is the most gorgeous pig that can transform into 6 bots and construction vehicles.

 

Great review Starscream gaga. The in hand pics make him look better than what hasbro had. But seeing this compared to takaras the hasbro one looks like a knock off. I'm still not a fan of the scale. He is to big compared to the other combiners.

 

I agree. The Takara version convinced me to buy it from the fixed issues but MT Giant is still my favorite Devastator toy because I'll actually be able to display him and CW Bruticus fighting without one of them looking like a shrimp.
