So, I'm sorry mods if this has already been posted by another user. Please merge if that is the case. So Warpath is a part of W3 of the legends class from Combiner Wars. He is a repaint of the previously released Thrilling 30 Legends Megatron, but he fits the mold so much better. His Autobot symbol is one of the best applied symbols I have ever seen on a figure. It's bold and well done. The head sculpt on mine is real nice, and the eyes are well painted. Unlike Megatron's headsculpt, Warpath's head scales well with the body and doesn't look too small. Now on to his scale, he is a tad bit smaller than (about a hair smaller). His vehicle mode doesn't scale well with a car, since he's a legends class figure. There are no mold differences besides the head sculpt. This is the Warpath that fits me. If you don't like the cannon on the arm, that's ok. Overall he is one of my favorite Autobot legends figures from Thrilling 30 onward.
I like the head sculpt, the shade of red and the nice size. But Warpath ' s defining character trait is his chest cannon. (Even when he's a robot he's still a tank!) Without that he just ain't Warpath.
I feel the same way. It also feels like a wasted opportunity to do someone else since Hasbro released two other pretty good classics/generations Warpath toys in the last 7 years (the 2008 legends and the 2011 deluxe.) Still, thanks for the pics and review, OP!
The Legends is one of my fave TFs ever, especially once you slice off the bit of plastic containing the yellow rectangle on the chest which then lets the turret turn in vehicle mode.
Yeah, I'd have been way more "ok" with this as Guzzle or pick any Micromaster tank, Warpath has had 2 fantastic toys that look like Warpath in the last few years (that said, props to this mold AND Leader Meg's for not being "H" tanks which is one of the laziest alt modes IMHO)
Just got him in today he looks great, some gray paint on the arms was a little messy but it's one of the few paint issue I have had with Combiner Wars. Looked great beside G1 and deluxe.
A second new Legends tank mold that has the chest cannon as Warpath would have been a huge waste. A new mold should go to a character who doesn't have an alternate mold that has already been done in Legends.
sure, but alternatively, this mold should have been used for any myriad* other Tank characters that haven't already received 2 modern updated versions. *ok, 'Myriad' might be a tad much, but there certainly are several that have never gotten an update ~ Guzzle, Slammer, Quake, Bight, Sidetrack, Bombshock...
Own the deluxe version and love this little one. Fits right in when convoying up with the rest, but when he gets isolated and forced to go solo, then he goes into 'deluxe' mode. sorry forgot i'm a grown man
I really like the legends Warpath. I think if Warpath hadn't existed in G1 and Hasbro released a tank with cannon for a chest, he'd get a lot of flak for being too silly.
CW Warpath has great colors and an excellent head sclupt. Considering how limited of a budget they were presumably working with, they did a nice job with this one. Mine is staying sealed until I figure out what I want to do with him. The G1 and the Deluxe from a few years back are all the Warpath I need in my life...It got it along with Groove and Viper from BBTS and may just donate it or swap it for another Viper.
