Thanks. Yup, my traditional painting skills are a bit lacking, so I took the easy route with mechanical pencil, Gundam markers, and silver metallic Sharpie.

amazing work. i was going to panel line him but then i feel like if i panel line one, i have to do that for all of them. so most of the time i only panel line if i plan on selling the figure.

so you used a mechanical pencil for the gray panel lining then? what size point?

Yeah, I know what you mean. For me it all started with Generations Deluxe Skids. After seeing how well he turned out, most of my subsequent IDW figures on display are panel lined to match him. Now I can't look at a bare TF the same.

To answer your question, I used a pencil with .3mm HB lead. I don't think I've ever seen that size before in stores. I found mine on Amazon.

Omega One, thank you for those pics of your detailed UM with the 86movie cast and City Commander.

That does it. I need to replace City Commander with CW Magnus. Problem now is do I go Hasbro or Takara? I love the Takara deco, but those red thighs don't look right. I also prefer the blue on the Hasbro. I think I'm going to wait for some more comparison pics. If I do go Hasbro, I know I'll have to paint the rims. The alt mode looks completely awful with them unpainted.

I feel like getting City Commander and Citizen Stack again to go with MP Magnus and CW Magnus.

You're welcome! It just so happened that I had those figures on my display shelf. :)

Yeah, City Commander was my UM stand-in in my CHUG collection until I got this guy. When you have them side by side there is no comparison. CC is pretty static and blocky versus Leader Magnus' superior articulation and streamlined design (plus the all-in-one transformation and car carrier altmode). Don't get me wrong, I still appreciate City Commander for being my first 3rd party purchase and being a creative armor add-on, but it definitely is showing it's age.

I have the Takara Magnus on pre-order as well, so once I have him in hand I'll be sure to do some comparison pics. I couldn't decide which deco I preferred, so figured I'd get both. Regardless of which one you get, if you like Ultra Magnus you need a version of this mold.

That is one fantastic looking figure. Thanks for showing me what it could look like if I had some skills and a lot of time.

YES. That's what I was thinking of for the cockpit. Gunmetal all the way. Can't wait to see more. (I also like the blue vents in your previous pictures.)

PS: I like how this has basically turned into a custom thread instead of a feedback thread, haha.

i just kind of want a little white prime honestly to sit in there, maybe a third party or shapeways? my kreo prime doenst fit there sadly, maybe wst but i only have 1 and dont want to paint it or buy another for the price they are going for.

i got gold, copper, bronze, silver and titanium for the insides of that cockpit. along with some red, yellow and blue.

however i forgot to mix up some greens for minimus... so i'll have to work on that some other day.

I'm planning on seeing if WST Magnus will fit in there. Waiting on the Takara release, though, since I want Alpha Trion rather than Minimus Watsisface.

My favorite part about Magnus is the arm transformation, it can double as an extending punch gimmick.
