First, I must say, love the box/card art! Hopefully we'll see one in a high resolution. He actually comes with a booklet manual, instead of the normal folded paper, haven't seen in a while from Hasbro.

CW UM himself, looks great. Just wish the Hasbro UM crotch was colored blue and he'll be perfect in my eyes with the white thigh once I get him. The shoulder launcher and the 2 guns forming the hammer is totally a genius. This should be a standard weapon for all future UM figure, lol.

 

Love it. Unhappy with the lack of wrist swivels, but at least his elbows bend the right way. Was not expecting to fall in love with Minimus but OMFG I NEED MINIMUS IN MY LIFE. I just want one to carry in my pocket at all times.

 

Oh man... That is the best leader class figure ever. How does he scale with CW Prime, Superion, and Menasor?
Minimus looks to be a badass as well. Can't wait to get both of them!

 

Liking what I see so far, but I can see Minimus being needed to fill out the neck area, but unable to store or secure in/on the carrier - that's probably gonna bug me (along with all those who planned to dump or trade off Mini)

(and I like Minimus)

 

I can't wait to get this guy. I'm a big fan of G1 Magnus.

Great reviews! I'd like to see Minimus next to the Brain of Courage for Star Saber. See how they stack up to each other in size.

 

Them clip ons tho, I think that's gotta be my biggest gripe, not because I didn't see it coming, but because clip on wheels are not at all simple to "fix", they don't roll very well, and this is a leader class figure

I honestly would prefer static wheels that were painted, over clip ons

It still looks like a fun, and overall good figure, but there are some fairly pronounced areas that can (and probably will) be seen as skimping by many

I don't know that I'd really call it "skimping" myself, but all the little things definitely add up quick, and if I intended to leave it stock and not mod the ever loving hell out of it, I think I would be a bit disappointed

But I look at it, and see so much potential, that I can't stay away, and am actually really anticipating its release

 

Thanks for the detailed look at his trailer mechanics and his car-carrying capacity. I love that aspect of him.

 

I don't prefer clip on wheels either, but if the rims are painted I don't notice them as much. Like the Combiner Wars cars. I miss the days when pinned wheels were just a given though.

 

Awesome figure. I wish his alt mode was bigger, scaling to deluxe cars. Upscaled KO anyone?

 

Are all the joints pinned? or can any of them be fiddled with to strengthen or replace ratchets?

All of the joints are on pins. The hip joints are pinned so you have to knock those out to change the ratchets unlike in CW Prime, you can use a screwdriver.

 

Well, so much for trying to swap in that Legion Ultra Magnus!  
... but maybe still that "Class of '84" Kreon?

 

Just picked up Magnus from a local comic shop. Very nice, very hallow. The crotch does not drag the ground and it rolls pretty good when everything is pegged in correctly. The cab could have been up sized a little, but I understand the size due to the transformation. I'm a little upset the rockets don't "fire" or that they are also hallow. Not to dwell, but I think his head is the only thing not hallow.

 

Well, thats unfortunate. I plan to get the Takara release, so hopefully its all a bit tighter by that point.

 

My oh my, that pic of CW UM under side of the truck is utterly hollow, lol. I remembered people were all over KFC Stack hollow cab portion sometime ago, yet very silence when it comes to CW UM.
