On the first day of Philmas the postman brought to me six small robots from Hong Kong RTS Legend Optimus was released in late 2010/early 2011. How has it taken FOUR YEARS to get it repainted in white in Ultra Magnus? The artwork asks a different question: why has there never been an all white G1 Ultra Magnus super robot? Hasbro/Takara, I have money for you! Robot mode shows that like the Target exclusive Classics Magnus Hasbro have been unwilling to completely go down the all white route. The colour used on the legs is grey. Love the blue faceplate, crest and windows. He has GDO Motormouth's c-clip hands but alas not his sword. Vehicle mode: oh to swap the white of the wheels and the grey of the flatbed round! The middle tire is evidentally painted too which look too great. Almost tempted to get a spare Optimus and do a wheel swap. Very grateful to finally get one of these but you can't help feeling he could have been better! The black on the legs stands out rather starkly. It won't stop me from picking this up, but wish they would've gone with all-white legs. Now to figure out if I want to peruse eBay for this or try my hand and the local discount stores that might have these but likely won't (I had to go the eBay route for the recent Grimlock/Strafe).
It's not black, it's more a charcoal grey. Interestingly on the card art the legs and wheels are both blue!
They HAVE..my dollar general down the street has them. didnt see skywarp or magnus..but its that wave
i've been looking. hit every big lots, dollar store, dollar general i've passed and come up empty. i just want 2 um's.
Me too man, I've been trying...just come up empty so far. It's too bad his legs aren't all white. He's going to stand out more when placing him next to my other white Magnus collection once I get him.
Theyre going to get painted. Who ever made that choice and let it through inspection needs to be fired. Even Primes legs would have been better.
They're also available at Gordman's, for those who are still looking for this wave. My copy I ended up with has some pretty sloppy paint on him. Oh well...only $5.
I had seen him online and I have the Motormaster version my son already had the prime but I was wondering what part of prime was black? Prime and Motormaster both had black wheels so what other part of prime is black it's odd.
The truck bed / legs are molded black as well, I think. On one side they're painted so he still ends up with blue legs in robot mode, but the back part isn't.
Ah ok I guess I haven't looked too close at Optimistic it came from his cousins house it was the version that had the sword I think since it had the hands.

Anyone else's pretty loose? Specifically his elbows... I've had an Optimus since it came out, and his are fine. A month and a half of Magnus and his elbows are looser than your mom. I actually really like the gray painted legs, but I'm worried about it getting scratched. Good to know if it does, I've got an alternative.
