I think First Aid is my favorite CW Protectobot.

Kinda like G1, I apparently like the Protectobots better as individuals than as a Defensor.

I just got him in the mail today, and had a real heck of a time transforming him to his alt mode, and getting those legs to connect to the cab. From what I could tell, it wasn't so much a flash issue as much as the legs, when connected, didn't connect evenly... meaning if you look at the tab before pegging into the slot, you could clearly see the halves were off just enough to making it impossible without breaking something. My solution was peg the legs in one at a time, and with a little massaging, it all snapped together nicely.

As for the figure itself, I really like him, a lot. I skipped Offroad... I picked up Brake-neck for my Menasor... so this is my first experience with the mold. Fairly straightforward, but can be a bit finicky. My only real gripe is the front of the truck ALWAYS getting in the way of the door panels that hang off First Aid's shoulders, in robot mode. In Alt mode, it seems to take a lot more force than I'm comfortable with to snap the front end into place, then pull it apart when transforming him back to robot/limb modes. Not sure if that's an issue with all of them, or just my copy of the figure.

Just got First Aid yesterday, he's mostly great, but this is the major issue I have with him. The tabs on his arm hitting his hood really interfere with his ability to pose with his arms out at his sides. I don't remember having this issue with Offroad. I also feel that Offroad pegged together a lot easier in vehicle mode than First Aid does.

Other than that, I do like him a lot, especially his head sculpt. That head is right out of the G1 cartoon and the pages of MTMTE.

First off I got to say that offroad is my least favorite cw deluxe toy. First aid fixes a lot of issues that I had with him. He feels more solid and you can make a sturdy arm mode where offroad had parts just flop around. The overall sculpt is better. Offroad never felt like a solid unique character wit his own identity. He is a strange mash up of rukus, wildrider and ironhide. First aid feels like first aid and that's cool.

I really dont like where this guys arms go when in arm mode. Seems really unfinished compared to the others. You just end up with these sticks pointing out regardless of how you arrange them.

While he is great I don't like the axe he comes with, he's a pacifist! Luckily the Rook looks he can carry the axe on his back and still look impressive.

The axe is for him to use on major surgical operations on the field for injured Autobots.

I know I just think he looks better disarmed so Rook now carries his axe on his back.

I gave him Rook's clamp/Jaws-of-life/thing. Since it looks more like a tool, I think it fits better.

Why hasn't this retooling of the mold been reused yet! I mean Trailbreaker would have been the obvious but now why not Ratchet, Tote, or Highjump?

Mine seems to have one leg just a bit longer than the other and I can't see any reason for it. He's leaning a bit to the left....

I believe it'll be what I first noticed it with my First Aid-to-Red Alert custom, it's caused by the slight extra width that the combiner foot/fist port on the bottom of his right foot juts out by, it slightly raises the right foot in wider stances so the foot itself does not sit as flat as the left foot and becomes more pronounced the wider a stance you have him in.

The hood on mine is really difficult to peg into place for its vehicle mode; it requires a scary amount of force, and I can't see any reason why. Likewise, it is difficult to unpeg for robot, leg and arm mode.

Otherwise, this is probably one of the best Combiner Wars toys I have got. I was looking for it and I am not disappointed. The vehicle mode looks really good yet reminds me of no real life vehicles, but it is like an all terrain ambulance truck. The robot mode is pretty good looking, too.

It wasn't until now that I realized how different First Aid is from Offroad. I ended up looking back and forth at the two trying to comprehend this was a resculpt. The chest is different, the forearms are different, the lower legs and head are different and most of all, the vehicle mode is completely different aside from the wheels.

Odd. Is it the right hfg piece just molded incorrectly so as to not have the slot, or someone else's hfg entirely?

I never even noticed the slot on Offroad's hfg (though it's there), if not for First Aid, I'd have never known that tab actually had a reason to exist. It perplexed me for way too long. Great instructions, really complete, HasBRO.

I finally have First Aid. My only complaint is that his legs won't completely stay together in limb mode, other than that, his robot and vehicle modes are awesome.
