Does Defensor look better with Blades or Alpha Bravo?

I had both on mine while I waited for Rook to ship from Amazaon and I say Blades is better. The colors just match better.

Man i love this combiner despite i really don't know much about them. Groove as a chest works better than i thought. I just need a larger weapon for this guy,

Finally able to order this guy. Not too happy about paying deluxe class price for groove, but it was better then what the guy was going for a few weeks ago.

A great set. Solid combiner, even if he is a bit front-heavy. I'm all for the retools. They did a good job with them. Probably helps that I didn't get the arielbots so blades is new to me. I like how different he looks next to Menasor on the shelf. He's noticeably shorter, which works for me since Defensor is all about protecting humanity while Menasor is more about smashing it. And even though they share two limbs, you really can't tell. I diggit!

Ok so I've had these guys about a week now, and I've just been loving them so much separately. Yesterday I took the plunge and assembled them ( I held off as Defensor was my favourite G1 combiner and was worried it was not going to turn out well). I am very impressed with their setup. Everything clips together nicely and HS makes for a great torso.. I love how the ladder flips all the way around to make the head and I like how everything goes together.

Over all I'm really pleased with Defensor and so far is by far my favourite gestalt. I liked Superion before but wooooooow Defensor is much better. My only wish is that He came with a better weapon. I have used both of hot spots guns, and put 1 in each hand as I feel joining them together just looks cheap and silly. Maybe someone will answer our prayers and release a kit for him. Other then his guns I have no real complaints. Colouring is really close to G1, and I love the sculpts. Granted I cant wait for Deluxe Groove so I can have g1 accuracy.

That being said I really like Rook as an arm, more so then him as a leg. I sat there moving them around in different spots to see which one I liked better.. I settled on Rook and Blades as arms and Streetwise and First Aid as legs.. and wow I am loving the Streetwise!!

That's how I have mine! Best setup IMO. Even the part where you said you have him holding one gun in each hand.

So with all due credit give to Sealime, I decided to play around with his "Groove as a leg" configuration, and I came up with this ever so slight modification.

(I didn't see his connecting this way when I looked for reference)

    Here he is:

(again, credit to Sealime, this looks AMAZING)

just got Groove...and he is amazing on Defensor! My number one gripe has always been the lack of blue in the torso like g1...but Groove fixed that easily. Also tilted hot spots arms a little bit upwards to show more of the blue to offset the black chest and it looks great IMO. I am honestly thinking of dropping the entire protectobot team and buy the g1 colored combiners instead...he looks so good with the stunticon team on him (more color variety!)

Finally finished this guy yesterday. Solid combiner. Out of the 3 combiners he is in 2nd place. He is way better than menasor and a tad below superion. Like superion the bonus legends figure isn't needed to make the combiner feel complete. Now it is time to play the waiting game for bruticus for me. I'm combinered out for 2015.

Just trying a different config with groove as the knee pad. Taking the legs off makes it less ridiculous than other configs I've seen, but took me a while to figure out what to do with the leftover parts. Problem solved, he's now half of a Magnus-style hammer. The front half of the bike pegs into rook quite nicely with the tabs - better than blackjack at least!

Just completed the whole protectobot team and heres my thoughts:

    1. I HATE BLADES!!! he just does not work well proportion wise with the whole team. Hes too skinny to be an arm or a leg. I dont think hes a horrible figure, but he can only work well with superion given how skinny he is compared to the rest.

    2. Rook: Rook is one beefy guy, and hes just sticking out too much. Reversed his leg transformation and i love it. Did the same for first aid. First Aid also makes a great arm.

    3. Streetwise: The mold is flawed due to excessive width. The mold is too thick to be legs imo (tried both for menasor and it was too much). He looks great as an arm though as his hood area nicely balances the bulky forearm.

    4. First Aid: I really love this retool! He makes a great arm and leg.

Overall, Blades spot will be taken by a stunticon for now until wheeljack or prowl can take his place.

So first combiner I completed and I really like him it does help he was always my fav Autobot combiner.

Now my current configuration is Blades and Rook as Arms and Streetwise and First Aid as legs I was initially gonna use Rook as a Leg but First Aid's arm mode is too weird for me and Streetwise has clearance issues with the chest speaking of I would like this combiner a whole lot more if his chest wasn't made of such flimsy plastic it takes very little to unpeg.

Still he's great and i cannot wait to get Deluxe Groove.
