Oh man that's depressing. I don't think I'll be getting Bruticus then. I'm already bummed about having to essentially re-buy Dead End and Offroad (though not bummed enough to not get them), but re-buying 4/5 guys? Not gonna happen. Maybe Blast Off will be awesome though.

 

as an allnew character theres no reason for rook to have the form he does unless he shares a mold with someone else.
an allnew char wouldnt get his own unique mold that wasnt shared.
so far everythings been designed in advanced to be reused.
theres only brawl and nosecone from the preexisting combiner characters that have the same basic tanklike shape.
and if brawls a new mold whos he get retooled into?
and still leaves whos rook retooled into?

we knew alpha b is vortex
the good money is on hot spot as onslaught with new tooling (ladder and maybe the cab)
the other stuff isnt confirmed just guesses but seems natural.
why give an allnew char like offroad or rook their own unique vehicle mode?
blast off i have no idea.
he might become a jet (arielbot retool) to be more in scale or maybe replaced with a replacement character.

 

While I'm sure Hotspot will eventually be Onslaught, he is going to need some heavy retooling! The ladder is just so important to the transformation of the torso mode, he's going to need a massive overhaul.

Brawl from Rook still seems weird, but I also can't think of any other reason for Rook's alt mode then that it's sort of tank like.

 

I think a large enough retool could make an excellent Brawl out of Rook. There's already a post where the combiner foot attaches that looks like a tank turret, and they could put a turret on a hinging arm and swivel on the piece that forms his back. If the wheels were replaced with treads, then the back wheels would call back to Brawl's traditional chest.

 

The actual body of Hot Spot is so Onslaught though, the proportions especially. The cannons from the ladder should not be too much effort, and I wonder if they will use the guns, to stay clipped in with whatever they do.

Can't wait to see it.

Defensor is frickin ace though!

I have a feeling Brawl will be a new mold to make Nosecone later on. I'm going off the fact both have treads on there shoulders that are used in vehicual mode and I don't see Rook having that similarity.

 

This. I could however see Rook being retooled into Swindle. Make Swindle an armored transport.

 

Well.. Im gunna jump In and say that I have not ruled out the possibility of swindle being the small guy that gets put on the chest, and a new guy getting a limb.

 

That would work really well, IMO. Swindle never seemed like a leg-guy to me. Especially since he's the one that makes a combiner in the comics. Who the fuck would make themselves into a leg??

Swindle will be forever the right leg of any incarnation of Bruticus, that'll probably never change. Call me a purist, that's how G1 fans would feel as well.

 

Any pics of Defensor all scrambled up? Maybe with Blades+First aid as legs and Rook+streetwise as arms?

 

well...groove is not a leg anymore...and I like it a hell of a lot better. Im just not ruling out the possibility of swindle (the smallest guy on combaticon team) to be a commander. actually I would dig it. These deluxe size military vehicles..and then a jeep or HUMV or something that would put him close to scale..

I just sayin im open to it..and I think it would be fresh. just like groove not being a leg makes the team as a whole look better.

it does not have to go by strict G1 rules for me.

 

Pretty sure we just got a computer listing for Swindle with the other combaticons as a deluxe, and we have the legends Shockwave that is assumed to be the partner legend for Bruticus! I'm hopeful Swindle will be an Off Road/ First Aid reshell, with more of a Humvee vehicle mode.

 

He wasn't in the main configuration for G2.

Bruticus is Scramble City. Limiting yourself to what the cartoon depicted is just narrowing your enjoyment of the line; Bruticus was supposed to be swapped around from Day One. I'm a G1 fan and I don't agree with you at all.

 

I don't know, I feel like Swindle belongs there. While I hate the obsession with G1, I do have to confess that I prefer their original limb layout for combiners (excluding Superion for CW).

 

Looks fucking awesome like that. I'm still not sure whether I want First aid as an arm or a leg but this is making me think I might have him as an arm. I think he'd look good as an arm (my Offroad is an arm right now) but I know because of Offroad that there are some random panels and stuff that get in the way when that mold is an arm.

 

Awesome indeed! Though I gotta admit, I still wanna use First Aid as a leg on mine. Specifically the right. I like to headcanon it as a little tribute on his part to Ambulon, haha...
