That is so wrong in so many ways.

What's even worse is I keep seeing the headline "Two unarmed black illegal aliens gunned down by Local police for selling loose cigarettes" and a picture of Prowl holding a press conference.

I'm a bad man. I probably need help.

Got Exhaust this last weekend from a fellow TFWer in person.

I liked this mold as Wheeljack, and like him here as this original character. Though I think he'd be even cooler colored black with purple highlights and made into a Vehicon. His head just screams "drone" to me.

Heh. an MP troop builder. That'd be expensive.

Why did Exhaust have such a short run/controversy?

I see...thanks for the assist. I just picked up the KO of Exhaust (plus 2 sticker sets). I'm looking forward to receiving him. I'm not overly fond of the head sculpt, but I'm hoping it will be better in hand.

So are all the ones on ebay KO versions even if they don't say KO? I'm almost interested in having this guy but don't want to buy something from an ebay seller and find out it actually is a KO.

Exhaust is only $43 on Hobby Link Japan. I'd recommend getting him from there.

So I'm confused. I looked into this and when I google the currency exchange, this comes out to way more then $43.00?

Google says that ¥5,200 equals $798.54. There's no way I'm spending that much. Haha! Am I missing something?

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't have it on Japanese Yen, It was one Chinese Yuan or something...
Might have to think about this one! Thanks for the info tho.

Exhaust just joined my collection thanks to an early birthday gift from my dear old friend @LoserBroadside. Thanks, man!

I was only able to spend a short amount of time with this figure last night but I have a hot minute while waiting for a meeting to start at work this morning so I thought I'd hastily share a few initial impressions and random thoughts while I daydream about the shiny new toy that sits on the shelf waiting for me to get home.

First, this mold remains an absolute gem. IMO, it's in the very top-tier of Masterpiece molds along with Megatron, Sunstreaker and the Datsuns. It's fun, clean, interesting, satisfyingly complex and still intuitive. Three years after Wheeljack's original release, it holds up like the day it first rolled off of the assembly line.

The "controversy" over this figure back in 2015 feels like a lifetime ago. Some day that will again become an interesting footnote in the history of our hobby but as of right now, it seems so silly and insignificant. :)

The Lancia Stratos, in street car form or race car guise, is just jaw-dropping. There's something about the exotic and special cars that were around when a person was a kid that makes them profoundly special. For example, many of us 80s kids have a special place in our brains for the Lamborghini Countach...well the Stratos is right there for me too. I could look at this thing in car mode for hours. :D

The Marlboro racing scheme is just stunning. It's bold and smooth, just like the product it represents. ;)  Seriously though, the contrasting red/white are pleasing and eye-catching...the modification to the red design on the hood is easy to ignore...the lack of the brand name lettering is acceptable, IMO. Honestly, G1 guys always seemed to walk right to the line of realism and took a step back. This is in line with my expectations.

I personally had no idea about the "Marlboor" Diaclone version until I was in my 20s or so...but there's still a twinge of nostalgia with the combination of the blue tints and that familiar scheme. Very neat.

My only complaint about the transformation on this mold is regarding the maneuvers to get the transparent wings around the hatch and into position. Something about flipping them up to 45* and swiveling around feels third-party-ish in a not so great way. It's a minor blemish on an extremely well polished design, IMO.

Ro-Bit mode is perfection! I wasn't expecting it to look and feel so different from Wheeljack. The head mold looks surprisingly great in person...evil and unique (while still looking like an actual Transformer). This is a repaint in the best possible form, IMO. Like Wheeljack of course, this mold provides a super clean, well articulated, pleasantly boxy robot with exactly the right percentage of car mode parts in exactly the right places.

This feels like a bit of a trick but as with the Roadrage repaint of Tracks who came with Tracks' missing "black light cannon") the accessories are pretty blatantly designed for Wheeljack. While the boxy shoulder launchers came with either original toy, those of us who identify more with the original figures than the cartoon just need those for Wheeljack. The figure felt a little bit incomplete without them. Additionally, the invention-dealy is straight out of the cartoon...so Wheeljack got a birthday present too, I guess. In any case, they're all neat items and the launchers look fantastic on either mold.

So yeah. I was enthralled with Wheeljack when he came out and Exhaust matches him in nearly every category, IMO. What it lacks in familiarity from an official vintage Hasbro toy it makes up for with the visual interest new application of a historical reference to a real world race car and a real world piece of TF ancient history.

    Awesome figure, 10/10

You don't need to bend the transparent wings more than 2-3 degrees to transform him, as long as you slide them past the wheels when they are only half-transformed. Mine feels like they will break if I push them more than a few degrees from flat, but luckily I've never needed to bend them more than that to switch between modes.

Is this figure still obtainable at a reasonable price? Looking for an official, not a KO.
