I feel like his waist should click into place. Even with both hip joints swiveled farthest apart, there's still a gap in the joint nearest the torso that makes me think they could go farther...

EDIT: Took him apart. Nope, no tabbing like I thought. A very, VERY light (read: nonexistent) nub to sort of lock the hips in posistion. Also, magic maybe? The screw holding the hips on turns infinitely, as if it's stripped, but holds the hips on securely. Without the screw they just fall right off. Breakdown's ass holds a black hole or something.

I now never want to take his hips apart again, lest I disturb some delicate unseen balance holding it all in place.

I will, however, endeavour to find a way to get his back end to peg closer together. I feel like the pegs buried within the legs hold the key to everything. The whole system is hit or miss. Hasbro's been pretty creative and successful in making super sturdy alternatives to telescoping legs (except Dragstrip) but this is not one.

Finally got my hands on him today. Love his robot mode, although I hate his hips. Love his vehicle mode, although I wish it would look a little more flush... absolutely HATE transforming him. It's a fricken nightmare, for a deluxe class figure. Like Leader Class ROTF Jetfire kind of nightmare...

Had to bring this guy back because when I was rotating his arms I noticed that the ball joints were being shaved by the arms when the arms were being moved.

Has anyone else had that problem?

Finally found this guy today,I like him except for the hip mechanism, what were they thinking with that, its so odd. Move one leg and other goes the other way. No real way of locking them down so they stay in the middle. Im wondering if some one else will come up with some better for his hips to lock in. Going to have to put some polish on his hips since they feel loose.

Mines pretty stiff in alt mode and stays together in and doesnt split apart so far.I like the way he stores his weapons in altmode and reminds me very much of G1. Love his altmode too, just sleek.

Got him today. Finicky transformation, but a pretty dynamic robot mode and a really nice car mode makes up for it. Great head sculpt. Combiner wars continues to impress.

Yea, I like the figure overall, but the legs are a bit stumpy. It's not as bad with Breakdown as with the other Stuntacon car.

I got Breakdown a day ago. The toy's joints are very tight, and the toy is a real pain to transform. I worry that something will snap. Otherwise, it looks pretty good. Offroad is overall better in robot mode, but I really like the alternate mode. It reminds me a lot of a Lamborghini from the 1980's.

I am trying to work out the kinks of his arm mode, but I got him into a leg. This allowed me to compare heights with Optimus. Initially, Menasor seemed a little small, but about twice the height of Optimus is very good. I would imagine that deluxes would look much smaller, considering the overall bulk of Prime.

Speaking of bulk, while Breakdown works best as a leg, it is a bit wide compared to Offroad, making it look a bit odd.

One of the positives with this toy is the weapon to me, it is clearly a rifle but it also functions as a sword. It looks really good. Displayed next to the others in robot mode, Breakdown looks good, though strange next to Motormaster in their vehicle modes.

So it seems like I'm the only one who has a problem with their Breakdown falling apart at the hips. That's good, hopefully future versions of the mold won't have that problem. I'll get some Loctite and try that in a day or two. If that doesn't work, I'll have to decide if it's worth it to get another Breakdown, or just leave him in car and leg mode.

Transforming his legs in car mode was a nightmare, legs didn't connect/enter with car door joints I had to use some moderate force, but at the end they entered correctly.Nothing is broken, just be cautious and use some force in my case, everything was connected, perhaps also some luck?
I like this figure a lot,but I fear that transforming him often could break some joints at legs/inferior parts, perhpas I'll buy another one so I can display in both modes.

Dead End and Breakdown are my favorite mold cars. I love Breakdown bot for face, legs and white and blue colouring.

Has anyone put Breakdown in arm mode and replaced his fist with arms micron Zamu?

I must have lucked out because the one I just got is not too tight (and not loose either) and just seems really nice all around. Personally, I didn't find the hollow legs to be all that noticeable.

I just got this figure and was curious if this was mentioned. Yes, there is a hole under the hood (which ends up on his back) with no other apparent purpose than to plug in the hand/foot weapon--although, I think the point is for Sunstreaker--when the intakes point up in robot mode it is like his classic G1 look.

Is there a fix for Breakdown when he is in the car/leg mode where the back of the care is trying to come apart where the rear spoiler is and where the foot goes? Other than that BD looks great and mine seems to be ok with the joint issues.

With mine, it all has to do with where the arm pegs into the leg. It sometimes feels like you have to force it in. There isn't a gap in mine after multiple transformations. I think he has to be "worn in." If that doesn't work you might try carefully shaving the peg hole that is in the leg.
