Fixit is in the second wave of 1 step changers along with Grimlock and Steeljaw. His transformation involves pushing his handlebars down til it locks down and goes back to vehicle mode if you push down the gray release in the middle. His vehicle mode is some sort of cross between a pallet jack/forklift, Twintwist's alt mode, a race car. Robot mode reminds me of Beast Machines Rattrap, but not as hideous. Nice they even painted his eyebrows. Articulation wise he can move his arms at least. Vehicle mode rolls nicely even though the wheels are just clipped in. Overall the Onestep version of Fixit is alright, he can stay in robot mode just fine. Unlike most 1 Step Changers, he actually looks very close to his character model. It's still unknown if he's getting a warrior/DX since he's a small character so only options available for the time being is one step changer or the Legends.
I like him! He looks cute, and if nothing else he's got articulation where it counts (eg, the arms). While I might end up preferring the Legion when it comes out, on account of it having ball-jointed elbows, this one definitely seems to have the better head sculpt of the two.
He looks like one of the few characters who look good as a one-step (Underbite is the other one that comes to mind.) He's one character I wouldn't be upset if we only got this and the legends.
I might get the Legends, but the one step is kinda growing on me. I like the fact I can have him as a silly ridaeble vehicle for figures to stand on.
I had an opportunity to get one but I passed because I had already bought a grip of toys a moment before. I really want this guy and I hope to see him again soon!
It looks like E.T. with drill arms to me. I dont see the appeal, but im glad for the ones that do. I really hope the best for this new endeavor...but I think it will have a very short life.
I heard the durability and quality with Underbite was pretty bad. I trasnformed Fixit back and forth and so far no breakage or declining transformation. Hasbro usually has one gimmicky transformers line directed towards young kids like activators, fast action battlers, the stupid huge fist punchers from AoE, and One Step which was originally an AoE gimmick line. RID will soon have deployers which I guess will work in similar vain to FOC Blaster, Soundwave, and Soundblaster. I think Fixit is one of the few from the one step line that actually keeps the character's aesthetics without sacrificing it completely for a gimmick.
I bought two Underbites. One in the beginning because I love the character and design. It never worked. So, I bought another one believing he could transform right. Boy was I wrong... IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM! As the fixit figure looks nice, I think I'll stay with the legends figure since that will scale better with the deluxes.
He looks pretty neat. As stated many times before, this will be perfect for the younger TF fans. As is, I'm gonna hold out until the Legion Fixit is released.
What is Luigi doing to him in the first picture... This little guy looks cool. How does he scale with the RID Deluxes?
I just got this guy yesterday and barely had any time to play around with him. Does anything clip into place when you transform him from vehicle to robot? Mine keeps popping back into vehicle mode. This happens very easily when handling him and even happens when he's just displayed in robot mode. Again, I haven't had much time to look at him closely, but this seems a bit annoying given how easy this is supposed to be.
It's possible that the release tab didn't revert to the forward position far enough. In that case, just push the tab forward, pull the handlebar assembly all the way back and down and it should lock into place. The other possibility is that the hook on the release tab is broken. If you tried transforming him into alt-mode by pushing down on the tab or otherwise just forcing him into alt-mode, that's a very high possibility. Note that you're supposed to pull back on the tab, not push it down. This is something I wish they had put in the instructions on the back of the box. I have to say that Fixit is by far the best of the 1-steps that I've tried so far. Notably, his transformation back to alt-mode is quick and simple without the fiddling that's required for all the other 1-steps.
