The packaging is nice - compact and attractive. They should use more compact boxes for the Hasbro MPs then the oversized ones they use now

I dig the tapes. There is nothing about the Soundwave that I like, though.

This might have gotten me as well.

However, this deco....it's like they didn't even know themselves what they where going for. It's like close your eyes, hit "Randomize", and done.

Gold and transparent plastic? Anyone want to place bets on how many years this guy is going to last?
All jokes aside, I am pretty interested in this. I never picked up a Masterpiece Soundwave, and this might be a good way to get to know this mold.

I think it'll last fine. The fact that it has gold is a good thing

First impressions of MP YOTG Soundwave: wow, what a great transformation from boombox to robot modes. His cassette minions are also awesome. Ravage was the only one I wasn't too keen with, but Rumble, Frenzy, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw are great. The condors have great engineering from tape to bird modes, while Rumble and Frenzy are impressive and very poseable. I didn't want to miss out on SW with his tapes again, made that mistake once when TRU had it in stock, that won't happen again after my purchase.

Just got mine today. I don't have the regular MP Soundwave, but I grabbed this guy because I love the color scheme. I'm not diehard enough to be bothered by whacky color scheme, I guess. My brother and girlfriend both really liked the look of him, too. The clear plastic doesn't have that same brittle feeling that most figures (TF or otherwise) that use clear plastic that I've played with have. I've only been collecting for a year, but I think he's just surpassed MP Bumblebee as my favorite Transformers figure. He was expensive (I paid $160 for mine), but he comes with so much and is such an intuitive design. He's well worth it if you like the deco. Makes me really want Goat Prime to go with him, but I have that mold already and would rather not pay $150 for a deco I'm not quite as crazy about.

He doesn't look worth owning to a non Soundwave fan. I saw him at TRU the other day and was wondering what the figure was because it was locked up. He's pretty hideous.

After a bunch of transformations, one of the locking clips has a stress mark and looks like it will fail soon. It's the one that holds the right shoulder in robot mode and right leg in alt mode. It's located on the chest. Something to keep an eye on people.
