Now that I look at it, the wings on CW Powerglide look like backwards P-51 wings from the top.

 

Yea, this is what bugs me about it. Even the G1figure got it closer in A10 mode.

 

As much as I love this little guy, whenever i put him in plane mode, all i can think is "Why wasn't he made into a predator drone?" *sigh*

 

It may be because A-10's are among the dopest of combat aircraft, and they scream "80's", plus it's his OG alt mode.

 

I love this little figure. its the first legend i've bought. But alas i set him on the coffee table last night and went to bed, woke up this morning and chocolate lab was chewing on him. He was ripped apart. Needless to say the bitch is getting fixed tomorrow.

I got this lil guy over the weekend along with Bombshell and he's an awesome Legends figure.

He's got a great design with nice proportions and his articulation lends itself to dynamic poses.





With a little touch of paint and some panel lining the mold really shines and makes the alt mode more cohesive

 

Despite his lack of a gun I actually like the missile racks in his forearms, and being a Macross fan you can never have too many missiles!



Powerglide can even pull off a semi convincing GERWALK mode

 

He looks right at home next to Generations Cosmos

They are. And we've gotten Powerglide in that alt mode over and over and over again. Would've been nice to see him updated, and to keep him small and a plane, a predator drone would for the bill

The A10 did not see combat until 1991 during the Gulf War. I think most are familiar with it from then so it's more 90's, it was designed in the 70's.

 

you make a good point, but I think for PG the A-10 is his iconic mode, like Prime and a truck cab, or Hound and a jeep-type vehicle. I'm all for variety, but for the CHUDRtST30CWBBQWKRP line, I'm pretty ok with iconic.

But I'd love to see him as a drone or something in the new RIDs show or whatever comes next.

Thanks. Yup, just took some fine tipped Gundam markers to fill in all his panel lines. Black on the red parts and grey on the rest. I also used a red paint marker on the back of his thighs.

Found him at retail. Wouldn't pay more than $10-$12 for him. I had the g1 Powerglide as a kid and this figure in robot mode is like a masterpiece version of the older bot mode. Plane mode is not bad or good, just OK. Wish the center of the plane didn't have gaps and mismatched colors. I'm slowly seeing potential in the weapon mode.

Overall value: 5/5 for G1 nostalgia. Easy pass otherwise.
