He looks so good! Thanks for the review. I'm really disappointed that Robot Kingdom is taking there time with him, because I expected him by now! Definitely my most hyped release on Hasbro and Takara's release schedule for a looooooong time!

He really does look like he jumped right out of the comics. Its amazing that they managed to keep the Headmaster gimmick, including the Tech-Specs, while also staying absolutely true to his IDW look and personality. It really is a huge feat to Hasbro and Takara. He looks far, far, far better then the 3rd Party offerings beforehand and gives me every I want in a Brainstorm. They covered absolutely every base; the most important gimmicks of the original toys while not detracting from giving us a perfect representation of the IDW character that everyone loves.

I've already made a little yellow briefcase for him...

Can I please request a pic with any (or all) of Generations Swerve, Trailbreaker, Tailgate, Whirl and Skids if you have them? With guns on back for the IDW accuracy! I wanna see how all the MTMTE-based figures look together. Also if you have TFSS Rewind and Chromedome... Thanks!

I'm perfectly fine with doing minor repairs on a figure, and this guy looks amazing. Can't wait for it to show up hereabouts! Thanks for posting the pictures and reviews!

Thanks for pictorial feedback free from youtube BS, sponsorships and all that nonsense. #RobotGate

Robot mode still looks killer and almost completely compensates for lackluster transformation and mediocre alt-mode. Digging the headmaster and people who don't care for it can just leave it in headmode and pretend it doesn't exist.

Is it true that the tech spec on the seat is a sticker and not a tempo?

I was able to get the seat on mine to lock by doing open heart surgery on Brainstorm and shortening the spring connected to the switch. Basically it wasn't coiling up tight enough.

I really hope the ones out there right now are like that first bunch of Windblades (before the "slipper" paint apps that signified a revision with improved assembly), the toy is really cool except for the parts where its assembly kicks its centrepiece gimmick in the nuts.

Nah, I get it, but as I said it's so simple it's boring. I guess the Headmaster gimmick was supposed to offset the transformation.

Well, I did that too. Not just the switch on mine, the moment the head was attached the release switch was completely forced forward, so there was no movement for release. Basically Arcana's head appeared a fraction too wide and long on mine.

Well it matches G1 Brainstorms Tech Specs, so no clue there I'm afraid.

    Don't have Windblade, sorry.

Apart from outward hip ratchets, he has ratchets on his outward shoulder joints and lower elbow joints. The lower elbow thing I believe is there to 'lock' them so movement on his elbows occurs at the higher elbow joint.

Definitely a tampo, not a sticker.

How did you manage to do that?

    Edit

    Picture request!

    'What? Is Tailgate stuck again?'

'So... why are you working upside down?'
'Just to show Perceptor that I can.'

Thanks for the review and pictures, tikgnat!

Sorry to hear the Headmaster head's a lot of issues...kind of worried, but I don't think I'll transform this guy too many times. I'll be careful!

He's already out, he was in a mixed case assortment in October. Solid cases of Brainstorm are out in November/December apparently.

I think it's cool he is so simple, but also looks so good! I like how WFC Prime transforms, but simpler transformations are just cooler, because they don't take so much time.

Oil prices are actually falling hard now.
Crude Oil Price, Oil, Energy, Petroleum, Oil Price, WTI & Brent Oil, Oil Price Charts and Oil Price Forecast
In the 5 years comparison, it is almost reaching a low point. If that persist, I wonder if we will see some good price/quality consequence on toys (especially if transportation becomes less expensive). But somehow I doubt...

Despite the clown shoes and disppointing little dude, that may have saved the toy for me (and make those shoes acceptable) :D

I don't get the whole "clown shoes" complaint. His feet look in excellent proportion to me, large enough to give him a good amount of stability. Simple transformation can be forgiven if he's as cool as he looks. Just have to wait, and wait, and wait some more for a store in my area to get him in stock.

The shoes thing is a matter of personal taste. The front (not the heel) is too big, too plain, kind rounded(?) for me. I don't matter the simple transformation, I actually like it, except for the back of the jet mode, which is... kind... weird for me. Anyway, the ability of having a decent gerwalk gives him many points in my book. The most disappointing for me is the little dude... Yeah, the head can move, but the arms and legs... Something like the little guys offered by FP would be great.

Aren't the clown shoes accurate to his design in MTMTE? Isn't the homage to the IDW designs supposed to be the major selling point for most of the recent Generations stuff?

I suppose. I don't follow the comics unfortunately, but I still have generations as my preferred line (more than MP). If that is the spirit of the line, that's ok. I personally don't worry about perfectly obeying a certain design. Things that I like, I keep, things I don't like, I change or accept it (I am a little radicon here, changing many details in my figures when possible and I am capable), just expressed my opinion (it is a forum). My main point when I posted was that I was actually happy for finding out that brainstorm apparently has a decent gerwalk (although I highly doubt that he uses that in the comics =P). And, in fact, those big clown shoes now have a purpose in my mind because of gerwalk.

Count me in as someone who has a bum head master port.
My head gets stuck regardless of how I put it in every time I do so. It takes a toothpick or something small to push the latch back inside the neck area to get the head master out.

I don't get why they designed the port in a way that allows you to put the headmaster so far down in to the socket. Even if your latch is working properly you will undoubtably have it go past the tab every so often just from the excess space in the port itself.

As far as my personal feelings go on this guy?
I find it to be boring and generic "feeling"

Def not a toy for me as it is out of box. Good for me to paint up since its so bland and blank however
