Hello guys, I recieved Takara Sky-Byte version and I must admit that colors are really cool. I like more paint on details in shark mode and better coloring on shark head.

 

Damn, that paint job looks great!


I have the Hasbro one and love him, so this will be an easy buy for me.

From what I can tell, this one is toy accurate, while the Hasbro one is show accurate.

 

Any chance you have the Hasbro version as well for comparison shots?

WHOA...that looks DAMN good. all escept the whitish plastic...but all around, that is really good looking.

 

No. Neither is either. The Takara one is, despite the extensively gorgeous deco, missing a lot of the small details from the original's. Hasbro's version is based mostly on the comics, but still not quite. And certainly not the show, which was simply a less-detailed (obviously) version of the toy's deco.

Neither toy will ever succeed in perfect accuracy to any non-comics incarnation, though, because of the shark head as the robot chest. Previously Sky-Bye had a different chest and shark head, and thus different decoes. (the light blue half of the shark head is based off the light blue half of his chest, when he never had light blue period on his shark mode, for example)


This is deffinitely the most attractive deco this toy has, but the mould itself still looks bad to me. Mostly the utter mess that is the torso.

Soon as in December? That's when his Legends wave is scheduled for release.

 

I take it this was a leak sold on ebay? Are they affordable?

 

Shark Jumper - Yes, lena81822 was selling him. I won him for regular Voyager figure price.

Damn! Takara's verison is much better! more solid colors and not as much break up between the colors and just better detailing. I will have to pick this one up and return hasbros.

 

This guy gets released next month correct?

Wow. That's gorgeous.

But as much improved as the Takara paintjob is, I'm not enough of a fan of the mold to pay that premium price.

Shall have to keep an eye out, see if any pop up cheap.

 

eh, beautiful pain job, but not really into the design itself, bot mode is to 'stretched out and spindly'.. I'd still prefer stick to the original TM2 Cybershark/ RID repaint.
