I have mixed feelings about this toy. For the most part, it looks pretty good. The heavy retooling helps distinguish it a lot from PRID Arcee. But I can't get over the face. It just doesn't seem overly... Chromia. I dunno, it just throws me off This and Arcee look good, but I don't see myself buying either, as much as I'd love to support the idea of making more femme-bot toys. I hope we get a Nautica at some point
1) I dont read the comics (and at this point it's likely too far into the ongoing, overaching arcs to jump in). 2) i never got PRID Arcee. 3) I don't know a thing about Chromia as a character. 4) kinda ties in with #1 i guess, but the head does not bother me at all. Those said, this is one nifty toy. I really like her. Got her off ebay and she's damn cool for a remold. She's fun to mess with in both modes and while the kibble is a bit annoying, it doesn't detract from her and i definitely see myself keeping her either on my desk or main display for a long while
She looks great, really happy I have her and Arcee and Wingblade on order. They can't get here fast enough really want Hasbro to make Nautica now, and hopefully a new version of Blackarachnia .
Nice remold of RID Arcee. She has quite a lot of paint on her, and the plastics themselves are really vibrant as well. Robot mode looks a bit thin, maybe because the head looks a bit smaller than RID Arcee and she lacks the 'wings'. Also don't like the hollow look in her eyes, a pet peeve of mine when it comes to lightpiping. She seems a bit too blue, maybe a grey face would have helped here. Altmode...NICE. The totally translucent plastic for the windscreen actually works perfect for me here. Lightcycle looks really nice, even, just like Arcee, with the knees obviously visible. She also hides her arms better than Arcee. Would have been nice if she'd been able to take her backpack off and use it as a shield..the kibble is a bit too much. And you can't really do any cool poses unless you fold her 'skirt' back. I can easily see why anyone would ignore this figure because of the negatives, but all in all, I find her quite charming, and a very smart remold.
Picked up a Chromia tonight on a whim. Haven't opened her up, but I dig her looks. Wasn't planning on getting her, but damn, dat lightcycle, brah!
Really happy with her, she looks great next to Windblade. I'd prefer a more pissed off facial expression but whatever.
found her tonight at walmart and picked her up. sadly didn't see arcee though. :C Anyway I love her. I just wish she came with 2 pistols as advertised, and I also wish she could hold her Riot shield like in the comics instead of being attached to her back via metal pin.
I have heard some speculation that this figure is the first to be offered with the new standalone figure in a case, on account of her availability sans Arcee from BBTS and other vendors. Mine is on the way...I'm not happy about them shipping individually, paying the stupid $9 shipping twice for two deluxes. Probably my fault for how I placed the preorder.
If BBTS had a choice in this, I don't think it was their wisest decision, Arcee looking to be the figure in much higher demand.
Her back wheel has metal pins holding the outer wheel plate on. On mine, the pin on one side isn't pushed in far enough, and it gets in the way when I try to close the wheel together. Annoying but not a showstopper.
GOt mine from amazon. Great toy. Liked PRiD Arcee a lot to begin with, and loved Chromia in the comics. This is a nice blend of G1 and comics. Wish the canopy could detach and become a shield, but only so much you can do to a retool. Also sometimes I have trouble plugging the back wheels together but after everything's in place in alt-mode they kind of work themselves out.
It wasn't a conscious decision. BBTS's page listing for Arcee says that her shipment was held up for addition customs inspection.
Picked up Chromia yesterday and I got to say, I love her. Good figure, awesome alt mode, but sad she's missing her second blaster. My only concern is her elbows; the plastic the ball joint is made of seems unnecessarily rubbery. Add that to how tight the elbow joint is on my figure, and I'm honestly scared to swivel her lower arm for fear of overstressing the joint.
