Would it be easier to color his head red with a fine tip sharpie?

Does anyone have any suggestion for a paint or paint mix to color match this little guy?

    Thanks!

I f****** love this figure! His head, is right, it's just not engulfed into the body work to make him look like a no-neck. :p

I absolutely love the Swerve figure, so I will be picking this up. Like others have pointed out though, I'm not crazy about the head design for this character. I'll still buy this, and just hope a 3rd-party modification comes along.

Just picked him up, no complaints here. The colors look great in person. I don't feel like its missing paint apps, looks great. I like it better than Swerve, and I'm a big fan of the Swerve IDW character.

    Parking lot custom quickie:

    - Removed the silver paint using a mr clean magic eraser.
    - highlighted some parts using a silver sharpie.

    Total time: 10 minutes
Result: Much happier with the bot.

My son had been saving his allowance to buy the Leg-Gens Cliffjumper to go with his bee. When He had the $10.60 saved up, I took him out and they had gears and AS. My son went NUTS for gears. Cliffjumper was quickly forgotten. He loves it and has been taking it everywhere.

Me? I think this works SO much better than swerve. Gears was my 1st TF I ever bought. I actually had saved MY allowance back in the day for a new GOBOT, and when I went to Children's Palace, I seen these new things called "transformers"...thats where it all started for me.
As for the figure..Its hard for me to not think Gears was the original design, and swerve was the repaint/recoup and they just produced it 1st. Gears colors are SO damn good. I bust out my G1 gears to compare with my son..he had fun with that. I remember the minibots being bigger as a kid, so these Leg-gens must feel like a deluxe to a 6 year old.
Minicon is still as kick ass as when it came with swerve.

Great set, great price, lots of fun..kid LOVES IT..what else is there to say?

Awesome! Thomas & Friends is my son's favorite show/toy/entity/etc! That shot depicts his passion and mine coming together in one!

After fiddling some more and revealing more of that beautiful Gears red, for the most part, l I found he is not missing paint apps. He just has inverted colour schemes in some areas. Silver instead of red.

The only thing missing perhaps is that yellow grill bit on chest . Which can also be remedied easily.

    and done:

    Legends Gear feedback

Note: I will have pics in later. I searched if there was a thread already made and I didn't see one.
So I bought this guy on eBay via HasbroToyShop, and I really like him. He is a repaint of swerve, but is a great figure. He carries over all of Swerves strengths and, if any, weaknesses. The knee swivel isn't loose like my Swerves is. With the darker paint job you can see some more of the details clearer which is an added bonus. The head sculpt is good, but reminds me more of Brawn who I think was the original intent of this mold.
Gears' partner is a repaint of Swerves partner, and is by far my favorite of the mini-masters. His chest isn't as locked in as Flankers was which is another bonus. While is paint job isn't as dark as gears it's still good.
Overall: if you don't have swerve get this guy. I personally can't decide which is better. Both are great.

I just found one of these this weekend in a Texas Walmart. It was the first time I've seen it. Does anyone know how long it's been out in the wild?

Has any 3rd Party company come up with a face modification for Gears, to make it look more like the G1 cartoon?

Something like that photoshop picture on page 1?

They've been in Maryland and Pennsylvania since early September.
