Spoiler alert - Bright slapped him too hard and ended up breaking his neck on accident.

That's right, he survived a close-up nuclear explosion, only to be killed by a well-placed Brightslap.

When he mentioned the decommissioned base I started getting ideas, then I checked a map and it's nowhere close to Nevada.

    In a way, that's a good thing.

Considering a nuclear explosion went off inside it.

    Story 01 - NEWTYPE
    Log 05 - Amuro's Journey

EARTH! A tiny sphere in the swirl of lights that forms the Milky Way Galaxy, the sun it orbits a star in itself. It supports billions of people, at one point 7 billion. Now a mere five billion remain, many killed in the vicious assaults of the Destrons and more caught in the crossfire of the Autobot-Decepticon war, one that has to be covered up by New Earth Revolution Ventures. This story follows one piece in this endless game of chess, Amuro Ray, who was at this moment…

"BEING TRANSFERRED?!" Amuro shouted with incredulous surprise.

"Temporarily," Gendo replied, "NERV Britain needs a few new pilots to help with a little operation. I've elected you, Lara Sune, and Charles Allister to assist them."

"Oh, right, because working with CHAR makes things so much better," Amuro replied.

"Professional," Gendo replied in this deadpan that was only subtly different from his normal voice, "Also, I've had NERV Britain's commanding officer come over here to introduce himself."

At that moment, the door flew open, and in entered a (17-year-old) man who would play an important role in the downfall of a certain organization.

"Yeah, I think I broke your door," Commander Lelouch Lamperouge noted.
    ---
One flight to NERV Britainia, and Amuro felt like he was in another weird universe. The base was not subtle or industrial, but extravagant and ornate, like a government base that was trying to be a grand castle lined with brass.

Needless to say, it was not exactly comfortable to look at.

"Welcome to New Earth Revolution Ventures Britainia," The guards welcomed the three pilots.

"Um, thank you," Lara was the only one to reply. The other two nodded.

"Don't mind the guards," Lelouch commented, "They're just a little on edge after what happened a few days ago."

    "Really?" Charles noted, "What happened?"

"Best not to talk about it," Lelouch looked around, "Now, where is he?"

    "Who?" All of them asked.
    ---
Meanwhile, a young man of about Amuro's age was calmly walking to NERV.

"Well, Yesterday was very trying, but maybe today will be different," Suzaku Kururugi thought, "Like a beautiful girl would fall into my arms or something."

And low and behold, a young woman with long pink hair fell into her arms.

"Well, that suicide attempt failed," the woman noted, "Hey, I owe you one. You're free today, right?"

"Thank god!" Suzaku thought. Then he spoke, "Yes, just not right now. Meet me outside NERV Britannia at noon."

    "Okay, thanks!"

And Suzaku continued on his way…
    ---
"Okay, I have to ask a few things about your ranking system," Amuro noted.

    "Yes?" Lelouch responded.

"'Knight?' 'Bishop?' 'Rook?' Why the hell is 'Princess' a military rank?" Amuro asked.

"Carry-overs from our last commanding officer," Lelouch noted, "I tried to get it revoked and replaced by a more formal rank, but apparently removing a title others have worked hard to obtain is frowned upon."

"I see," Amuro noted, "So… what happened yesterday?"

"I'll give you a report tomorrow," Lelouch answered, "However, I can give you a basic gist."

    "I'm listening," Amuro replied.

"Okay, so there's this terrorist calling himself Zero," Lelouch began, "And he doesn't like this whole monarchy thing Britain has going on, even though the Queen's doing a pretty bang-up job. So during an operation to show the general public how the Armored Knights can defend their cities from invaders of the extraterrestrial kind, Zero managed to kill several soldiers, 2 pilots, and one stuntman. Because of what happened, many in the city and other surrounding areas remain on high alert. In fact, the only reason Zero didn't managed to hurt more people was the actions of one of our stunt pilots, Suzaku Kururugi…"

    Footsteps interrupted their conversation.

"Speak of the devil," Lelouch smirked, "Suzaku, you're a bit late."

    "Apologies, my Lord!" Suzaku replied.

"No fault, Suzaku," Lelouch replied, "You're not a professional pilot, so you're not as familiar with the grind that is being a professional Armored Knight pilot."

    "Yes, my Lord!" Suzaku replied.

"And that includes using the term 'Lord,'" Lelouch noted, "the term 'Sir' will do just as fine."

    "Yes, Sir!" Suzaku replied.

"Now, Suzaku, this is Amuro Ray," Lelouch gestured to Amuro, "He'll be working with you in developing your combat style."

"Pleased to meet you," Suzaku extended his hand.

Amuro looked at the hand, uncomfortable.

"I must've forgotten to mention he's a Newtype," Lelouch noted, "So he's not exactly comfortable with social interaction."

"I see," Suzaku lowered his hand, then saluted, "Apologies, Sir!"

"At ease," Amuro replied, "Now, shall we begin your training?"

"Sir, I highly suggest you further explore the base so you can find a good training field," Suzaku suggested.

"…Very well then," Amuro nodded, then walked off to explore the area.

Suzaku departed as well, earning a raised eyebrow from Lelouch.
    ---
And right outside the gate, she was waiting.

"Okay, listen, before we go any further, I think there's something you should know," Suzaku warned her.

"Oh, I already know you're that stunt pilot who managed to defeat Clovis' murderer," the girl replied.

    "How did you know that?"

"It's all over the internet, Mr. Kururugi!" the girl noted, "Also, Kururugi's a fun word to say."

"Japanese language does have a certain melody to it."

    "Yeah."

    The two stood in silence.

"By the way, I never got your name," Suzaku noticed.

"HEY CHECK IT OUT!" A pilot that was entering the compound noted, "It's Princess Euphemia Heartsford!"

"WHAT?!" Suzaku shouted, "You're a princess?!"

"THANKS FOR RUINING THE SURPRISE, ASSHOLE!" Euphemia shouted at the unfortunate pilot. Then proceeded to kick said pilots ass. In a skirt.

"Well…" Suzaku asked himself, "Would this make me her knight in shining armor? I did save her and all."
    ---
MEANWHILE, a little argument was escalating.

"WHY COULD YOU?!" Amuro shouted in frustration.

"Simple, I asked Lara out and she said it was okay," Charles noted nonchalantly.

"But how?!" Amuro asked, "I was planning on getting the courage to ask her out!"

"Like you can talk to a girl," Charles replied, "They speak a slightly different language then most men do."

"OH THAT IS IT!" Amuro shouted, frustration giving way to anger, "Charles Allister! I challenge you to a duel!"

    "The terms?"

"We fight using the Armored Knights that we brought, in the old downtown arena that's been abandoned and that been planned for demolition later this week."

"Fine by me," Charles replied, accepting the terms, before turning to the technicians, "Ready our Armored Knight units!"
    ---
A short time later, and the Arena became a miniaturized war zone. Beam Saber against Beam Saber. Mass Production Evangelion vs Prototype Origin Gundam.

"Oh dear!" Euphemia noticed, "Those massive machines are destroying the arena!"

"I don't see how that's bad, considering how this was going to be demolished anyway," Suzaku pointed out.

"But what if the fighting and violence goes out of control?"

"You're right, we have to contain the violence the best way to do so," Suzaku ran off.

A minute or two passed when SOMETHING landed between the fighting machines.

"WITH MORE VIOLENCE!" Suzaku shouted, "Lancelot, Engaging!"

Suzaku's white-and-gold mech whipped out a pair of massive swords coated with some sort of energy conductor, when…

"OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH!" Euphemia shouted through a megaphone, "END THIS FIGHT NOW! I, PRINCESS-RANK EUPHEMIA HEARTSFORD, COMMAND YOU!"

"WHAT?!" Suzaku shouted, "You're a princess?!"

"And how is that even a rank?!" Amuro added.

"You guys are all on the same team!" Euphemia shouted back, "You should be fighting WITH each other, not against!"

    "…Fine for now," Charles noted.

"But we'll settle this later," Amuro muttered.
    ---
    "Lara's gone."

    "Yes."

"You know, you have a real problem with authority above your position."

    "Yes."

"Are you sticking with that answer?"

    "Yes."

"…You, Gendo Ikari, are a true form of idiocy."

"Ye-" Gendo paused to process the inane question, then got out of his chair, raising his hands in a dramatic fashion, "RIBBONS!!!!!!!"

"Yes, yes, I'm an evil bastard," a certain Green-Haired Amuro clone sighed.

So I have decided on a name for this series.
    Nexus: Infestation

So now we have a short teaser to peak your curiosity.
    Chapter 2: Growth

Following reports of a nuclear explosion in Wyoming, Unit 4-2 was sent in to investigate.

“What could have happened to cause all of this?” The pilot asks to no one.

The EVA kneels down and picks up a piece of white metal, then radios the Nevada base.

“Guys, can you get a sample of this and analyze it?” A wide red beams emits from 4-2's visor, scanning the object.

“We'll see what we can do.”

He turns his attention back to the wreckage, combing it for anything that could be of value.
And he finds it, a com server that survived the blast.

Connecting it to his EVA, he discovered it housed security camera footage, damaged in the blast it was nearly unrecognizable. However, he was able to make out the blurred shape of the Origin Gundam.

“Just what are you up to this time Ikari...”

He is about to move on when something grabs his attention, a metal panel that still had in markings.

“RX 78-2...Gundam....Oh, quite the development we have here.”

Finding nothing further of interest, he begins the return flight to base, leaving behind a small amount of red material unintentionally, which falls onto the metal panel., then begins to grow, spreading to other parts and pulling them together, within moments the Gundam's head was mostly assembled, it's eyes glowing a deep red color.

As the EVA returns to base, the remains of what wasn't used from the original Unit 4 could be seen lying in the corner, as 4-2 lands a similar piece of red material falls into the pile, slowly spreading within, rebuilding the EVA.

    Coming soon to Nexus Astray:

-"After a decade of hibernation, Godzilla, a mutant of the once extinct Gojisaurus race has awakened and began what can be described as the worst attack on Japan since the original Godzilla invasion of 1954."

-"We care no longer what has forced you to pull this stunt, but you best put an end to this before we are forced to bring this act of yours to an end...permanently."

-"This is the epic rematch two decades in the making, and this time, We won't go easy on you for the sake of entertainment..We'll rip your scaly head off if it means we can defend Japan."

    What? Ghidorah is protecting us?!

    The "Astray" Daikaiju rumble.

A.K.A, UM84's writes a Nexus version of Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.

(I had the first page typed up, then I accidentally switched pages and lost it. So have a promo in the mean time.)

    *Blows dust off thread*

Is anyone here still alive? Does anyone remembers this being a thing that existed?

HOW THE FIGHT WITH PIRAHNACON SHOULD'VE GONE. OR: WOOP WOOP WOOP IS THE SOUND OF THE NAUTILATOR.

Defensor and Superion stood outside the Autobot base, staring at the massive Portal before them. It has been open for a few minutes, but nothing had come out thus far. They didn't know what was going to come out. It could be an invasion force, Megatron, or cake for all they knew.

    The reality was far worse.

A roaring Gestalt came at them very fast(for a gestalt). It was Pirahnacon. Defensor and Superion had never seen it before, nor heard of it. They were slightly caught off guard when it charged forward. It slammed into Defensor, sending the gestalt crashing to the ground. Superion charged forward and punched Pirahnacon in the face. Pirahnacon stumbled back a bit, just as Superion threw another punch. Pirahnacon however, caught the other Gestalt's fist in its hands.

Superion used its other fist to try and throw another punch, but it was caught too. Pirahnacon them pushed forward, knocking the gestalt to the ground. Pirahnacon crouched down and began to pummel Superion until he was shot from behind by Defensor. Pirahnacon turned as Defensor charged forward. Defensor rammed into Pirahnacon and punched him in the face hard enough to shatter an optic.

Pirahnacon countered with a swift punch to the torso, followed by him smashing his fists into the sides of Defensor's head. Defensor punched Pirahnacon in the face twice before Pirahnacon was grabbed from behind by Superion. Superion attempted to drag Pirahnacon to the ground, but Pirahnacon instead turned the tables and flipped Superion over his back, sending him crashing into Defensor and the Autobot base.

Defensor staggered to his feet and picked up a large, blunt piece of debris from the wreckage of the small wing of the base they has crashed into. He swung it at Pirahnacon. The debris was bashed against the Gestalt's face. The force of the blow snapped the debris in two. Pirahnacon roared as he tackled Defensor. Defensor fell to the ground, pinned. He looked to his right to see Superion on the ground, damaged and struggling to get up. Pirahnacon picked up the two pieces of the shattered debris and drove them through Defensor's shoulders. The debris kept him pinned as Pirahnacon stood up again and limped towards Superion.

Superion weakly looked up at the imposing figure of Pirahnacon. The gestalt stared back at him with one, still functioning, very menacing optic. Pirahnicon tore a piece of metal of the base. The rudimentary weapon was somewhat sharp, and was positioned above Superion's head.

Just as Pirahnacon was about to end Superion, a few red lights began flashing on the Gestalts joints. Suddenly, and without warning, Pirahnacon fell apart. Pirahnacon's combination safeguards protocols had kicked in. If power levels were below 25%, and the Gestalt had been active for more than ten minutes, the combination was immediately aborted and the gestalt was forcibly disassembled.

Superion, though still weak, now had the upper hand. All he had to do was simply crush the Seacons with his fist. However, they suddenly teleported away, leaving nothing but a wrecked base, and two damaged gestalts in their wake...

    END
