Apex- [played by Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime]"I can't believe that the big three are meeting today. This never happens!"

Magnus- [played by Fall of Cybertron Ultra Magnus]"Well, it hasn't happened since we came online, bro. I'm pretty sure it's happened before."

Apex- "Still, isn't it awesome! All three Autobot Commanders in one place!"

Magnus- "Must be very important for all three to be here."

Apex- "Man, what I'd give to be a nanomachine on the wall in that room!"

Finally the door opens and out steps the three Autobot Commanders; Jazz [Fall of Cybertron Jazz], Prowl [Titanium War Within Prowl], and Optronix [War for Cybertron Optimus Prime]. They split up without a word and each bares a grim facade.

Apex- "Commander Optronix, sir! What are our orders from Zeta Prime?"

Optronix- "Our orders, Apex..." the commander sighs. "I am to take my unit off-world for a special assignment."

Magnus- "Off-world, commander? But the war has gotten intense. Every day the Decepticons gain more ground."

Apex- "Shouldn't our place be here, commander?"

Optronix- "I said my unit is leaving. You two are staying here to launch a new special project. You'll be trained by Zeta Prime himself."

The twins look at each other, unsure of how to react.

Apex- "That's cool and all, but what about you big brother? Where are you going?"

Optronix- "I've been deployed to a neighboring star system to investigate Decepticon activity on a densely populated planet. Apparently this world is very important."

Magnus- "Sounds like a wild rumor to me. The war is here, not in another solar system."

Optronix- "I agree, Magnus. I'd much rather stay here and put an end to this blasted war. But Zeta Prime was insistent, and he has the wisdom of the Primes behind him. I will trust in his judgment, for now."

The commander marches passed the two young Autobots but stalls just short of the exit threshold. Without turning, he says his final words.

Optronix- "Good luck, little brothers. May we meet again, soon."

Zeta Prime- [Armada Powerlinx Optimus Prime] "Are you sure about this?"

Vector Prime- [Cybertron Vector Prime] "Positive. I have consulted the time stream thoroughly on the matter. Your young Commander is, without a doubt, the reincarnation of Prima."

Zeta- "Optronix, all this time."

Vector- "It matters little now. Though he's inherited Prima's inspirational qualities and strong leadership capabilities, he has not yet realized them to their full potential."

Zeta- "And for him to do this I must send him to the Sol system? It would make more sense to just hand the Matrix of Leadership over to him now. I'm nothing compared to Prima."

Vector- "Optronix will reach his potential on Earth, but that is not the reason to send him there. There are other powers in this universe beyond the knowledge of even the Matrix of Leadership. The third planet in the Sol system is a potent nexus in the universe. The Decepticons are there now, and in their hands this power would be used to enslave the universe. Only Optronix can stop this, and only once he realizes his potential. This will be his trial, Zeta."

Zeta- "So I will send away by best soldier to save some organic world, and give Cybertron to the Decepticons."

Vector- "That is not yet set, Zeta Prime. There's a reason Alpha Trion took you and Senri in all those years ago. He saw the great potential in both of you. His Matrix of Wisdom can see things even my powers of Time are blind to. Your power, and the legacy you will leave, are both much greater than you know."

Zeta- "Your words are hollow, ancient one. Like those from a ghost to an empty grave. I will do as you ask, though I'm certain it will be the doom of my home."

The two Primes part in awkward silence.

Note added by Vector Prime: Alpha, brother, I know you read these old records. I think I know what you meant about him now. Senri, Sentinel Prime, he had the strong spirit you were looking for. He united the first of the Autobots against the Decepticons. But Zatron, Zeta Prime, had the soul. It took him a long time to find it. Thanks to him Cybertron survived the war.

Also I noticed another clever advancement of yours. Optronix served under both Senri and Zatron. He learned strength from Sentinel Prime, and learned his values from Zeta Prime. He became a much better leader than even Prima at his peak for that.

Episode 01 - The Ark

Thank you, here's another entry.

Optronix – “Are the preparations complete?”

Jetfire- [Titanium War Within Jetfire]”Affirmative Commander. All systems go.”

Grimlock- [Titanium War Within Grimlock] “Still can’t believe it’s come to this. Zeta wants us to take off just as the Decepticons are reaching the height of their strength?! This is the worst time to turn tail and run!”

Sideswipe- [Fall of Cybertron Sideswipe] “I have to agree, Boss. This smells funny.”

Optronix- “I don’t like it either, Autobots. But we have orders to follow.”

Jetfire- “Maybe it’s for the best. The fighting has gotten so violent that entire cities have been laid to waste. Crystal city alone was a great tragedy. We should all abandon Cybertron, before we destroy it.”

Grimlock- “What kind of pacifistic slag is that? Just abandon our home to a group of despots to avoid getting dirty? Ridiculous!”

Jetfire- “Home can be anywhere, Grimlock. It doesn’t have to be Cybertron. Your ego is blinding you to the damage we are causing!”

Grimlock- “I’d rather be blind than a coward. And I’ll be scrap before I leave my home in the hands of the Decepticons!”

Sideswipe- “I gotta agree with Grimmy on this one, Jetfire. Sure our battles have been pretty crazy of late, but we can’t just let the Decepticons win, can we? I mean, they wiped out my hometown. Everyone I know besides my brother is dead, and I made off better than most. And a lot of this was the Decepticons’ doing on their own, before the war even started. There’s no telling what damage they’ll do on their own.”

Jetfire- “Whatever they do, it can’t be as bad as what this war is doing. Nothing good ever comes from war.”

Optronix- “I’ve spoken to Zeta Prime many times about this. I myself had wondered if stopping the Decepticons was really worth all this Destruction. If we might not be better off leaving to start a new life in peace.”

Sideswipe- “And what did Zeta Prime say?”

Optronix- “It’s terrible that our time has fallen into such violence. But to leave the resources of Cybertron in the hands of the Decepticons is too dangerous. If we left them to their designs, then all the planets they enslave, all those who resist them that they destroy, that would be our fault as much as theirs. It is our responsibility, as children of Cybertron, to ensure this evil goes no further.”

Jetfire- “But Commander, do we know for certain that the Decepticons would attack other worlds?”

Optronix- “The inevitability of that is undeniable, Jetfire. I have personally battled each of the four Great Decepticon Generals. While Straxus is less aggressive than the others, and Galvatron is still an enigma, I have already heard of plans by both Megatron and Thunderwing to expand the Decepticon Empire, as they call it, throughout the cosmos. No planet, no system is safe. And honestly, I expect the Sol System would be the first target of the Decepticons should they take Cybertron, being that it is the nearest system with a living planet.”

Sideswipe- “Is that why we are being sent there? Because the war here is lost and we are to prepare to defend this planet from Decepticon invasion?”

Optronix- “I do not know for certain, Sideswipe. From what I understand there is already a Decepticon presence on the planet, but they have not taken it. Zeta Prime suspects that there are resources on that planet that the Decepticons plan to use against us on Cybertron. Our mission is to find out if there is a Decepticon garrisoned there, and if so, what they are up to.”

Grimlock- “Well, there you have it, Jetfire! Would the wizened-sage-pacifist like to flee and leave the innocent organics of the Sol System to suffer the wrath of the Decepticons? And what do you suppose your former Commander, Thunderwing, would do with a diminutive and less advanced organic species, eh?”

Jetfire- “I have no doubt that he would wipe them out. I never considered that the Decepticons might not cease their aggressions with conquering Cybertron. I suppose it really is our responsibility to stop them. I still hope that we can accomplish that without losing our homeworld.”

Optronix- “I think we can all agree on that, Jetfire.”

The ship rocks as the engines ignite. Slowly the ship rises from the hidden launch base and sails into the twilight sky over Cybertron. As it crawls towards escape velocity, several explosions on the hull set of the ship’s alarm system.

Sideswipe- “Sir! We’re under heavy fire! Arial units detected!”

Grimlock- “Bah! It’s Thunderwing’s energy signature! Looks like a couple wings of Obsidian drones and his personal command unit. If only he’d attacked before takeoff I finally could’ve slagged him!”

Optronix- “We can’t survive a direct assault for long. Divert auxiliary power to shields and raise weapons. Send a dispatch to all crew members to man nearby weapons and focus on suppressive fire. We just want to keep the enemy busy while we reach escape velocity. From orbit we can make a jump to the Sol System and evade further pursuit.”

Jetfire- “No offense Commander but that won’t be enough. I’ll engage the enemy directly and distract them. That should help buy you enough time.”

Optronix- “That’s a negative, Jetfire! You can’t handle them by yourself!”

The Commander’s orders fell on deaf audio receptors as Jetfire was already prepped for launch.”

Jetfire- “Don’t worry commander. I don’t have to beat them, just distract them. I’ll be fine.”

With a faint smile and a quick salute Jetfire his shot out of the deployment tube. He quickly transforms and scans for enemy units. He quickly finds the first wing of Obsidian drones [Universe Obsidian]. He blasts two to scrap as he rockets passed the unit. He pulls to the left and the three remaining drones give chase while the secondary unit contests with the defense turrets the ark deploys. Meanwhile the command unit sits back and evaluates the situation.

Starscream- [Fall of Cybertron Starscream] “Well, if it isn’t the ex-seeker turned preachy traitor! Who shall get the honor of reuniting him with the all-spark?”

Thundercracker- [Titanium War Within Thundercracker] “Who cares about that pacifist? Shouldn’t we focus on taking down the ship?”

Thunderwing- [Generations Thunderwing] “Silence, both of you! Our forces are stretched thin. While this ship launches, Zeta Prime engages our production factory, Prowl’s Emergency Response Team raids our central Energon store, and our main communication hub has been disable, most likely by that foul Jazz and his espionage unit. The Autobots have planned this escape well.

“Starscream, your task is to deal with your old friend. Thundercracker, you will lead what is left of the drones against the ship itself. I will deploy my drone to the Space Defense Station and negotiate backup from Galvatron’s fleet. Meanwhile I will engage the starboard side while Thundercracker and the drones engage the port side. Any questions?”

Starscream- “An ingenious plan, General!”

Thundercracker- “Works for me, Boss.”

Thunderwing- “Good. Now, attack!”

All three aerial warriors convert to jet fighter mode and engage their specified tasks. Thundercracker roars passed the Obsidian drones, who instinctively follow his flight path by predefined programming. With a series of sonic booms, Thundercracker scrambles the Ark’s targeting systems, earning him a slew of curses from Grimlock, while the drones barrage the vulnerable ship with their rockets. Thunderwing deploys his drone which rockets into the stratosphere while he moves into position on the opposite side of the ship.

Meanwhile Starscream wasted no time engaging his former best friend. When Jetfire turns to attack the Drones, now directed by Thundercracker, Starscream intercepts him by launching a cluster bomb that detonates directly between his allies and the Autobot. Jetfire partially transforms his feet and directs the thrusters to sharply adjust his course upwards. He then retracts his legs back into fighter mode and prepares to strafe with his former ally.

Starscream- “I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, Jetfire! You’ll pay for your betrayal!”

Jetfire- “You’re General is a lunatic, Starscream! And you’re mad to follow him!”

They exchange blaster fire as they rocket passed each other, singing their armor. They turn about and engage again, with much the same results. This continues over and over as the two fighters rise higher into the air each time, slowly keeping pace with the Ark.

On the starboard side of the ship, Thunderwing, in robot mode, zigs-and-zags between blaster fire while his combined quadlaser cuts swaths in the Arks hull. A platform opens on the ship and the warrior Grimlock steps out, blaster in hand. He takes pot shots at the aerial General.

Grimlock- “I’ve had enough of you, General!”

Thunderwing- “The Dynobots died out a long time ago, Grimlock! Time for you to join them!”

The ship began passing through the stratosphere, and no backup came for the Decepticons. Thunderwing grumbled at the lack of loyalty from his fellow General as he dove forward into fighter mode. He charges at the last Dynobot, and spins as he descends to avoid fire. On the platform the Decepticon General and Autobot Warrior clash in robot mode, exchanging blows and tearing off each other’s armor. Grimlock draws his sword and it ignites in flame. He drives it point first towards Thunderwing, but the crafty Decepticon wrestles the blade away from Grimlock and impales the warrior on his own blade. The flame of the sword extinguishes as Grimlock is brought to his knees. Thunderwing takes flight again and fires both of his blasters at the fallen Autobot, igniting the fuel of his weapon, now embedded in his chassis. A terrible explosion follows, and all that remains of the proud Grimlock is a scorch pile of rubble.

Jetfire, still engaged in a dogfight with Starscream, detects the fall of Grimlock. He hesitates, just long enough for Starscream to loose a pair of cluster bombs, surrounding Jetfire with small explosives, which are then detonated by one of Thundercracker’s sonic booms. A series of small explosions vibrates the Autobot’s frame and stuns him. The former seeker is left defenseless to the barrage of laser blasts from Thundercracker and Starscream, which rip right through his armor. The remains of Jetfire and Grimlock are collected by tractor beams and stored on the ship as the Ark finally reaches orbit and activates the light speed drive. The Ark disappears, but not unharmed.

Episode 02 - Among Ruins

Note: Sorry for the delay, work was Hell this week. Luckily I do have a lot of free time at work so I've got rough drafts for the next four or five episodes already done, so I should be able to churn up new episodes at a decent rate this week, as long as I have the time.

As much free time as working two part time jobs while also being on-call gets me, anway.

Location: Recently uncovered ancient temple at the southern base of the Tehachapi Mountains, along the border of the Mojave Desert in Southern California, along the Garlock Fault.

First, I’d like to object to being forced to relate this record! I was ready to purge my system of these disturbing files when the commander ordered me to do otherwise. I’m no file clerk! Anyway, here’s the record of the incident, as requested…

Sunstreaker [Universe Classics 2.0 Sunstreaker] and his twin brother Sideswipe [Universe Classics 2.0 Sideswipe] Race across the Mojave Desert just as the sun begins to set.

Sunstreaker- “These new configurations we downloaded aren’t too shabby, eh bro?”

Sideswipe- “They get the job done, most of the time. These rubber tires aren’t faring too well with this terrain, though.”

Sunstreaker- “Well, I hate to waste my time driving through an empty desert like this. But anything’s better than helping to set up the base over in the mountains.”

Sideswipe- “Yeah, Ironhide was getting so testy. When Teletraan picked up a Decepticon energy signature, I jumped at the chance. Even though it meant driving the whole way.”

Sunstreaker- “One good thing about the Ground Bridge not being online yet, even though we have to travel all this way, it still beats listening to Ironhide’s grumbling.”

Sideswipe- “For sure. We don’t need him or the commander to take on a rouge Decepticon! I could use some real action after being cooped up in that ship for so long!”

Sunstreaker- “And we’ll make them pay for what they did to Grimlock and Jetfire! Even if it isn’t Starscream and Thundercracker, it’d still be nice to take a shot at some Decepticons.”

Sideswipe- “Well, looks like we’re here, but, what in the pit?”

The twins arrive at the base of one of the Tehachapi Mountains. The base of the mountain has been steadily mined, revealing an ancient ruin buried in its roots. Scattered about the ruins are humans equipped for excavation.

Sunstreaker- “Hey, I thought Ironhide said there were no locals? Should we risk exposing ourselves?”

Sideswipe- “No risk of that, bro. Check your sensors. These terrans are all offline.”

Sunstreaker’s scans confirm his brother’s report. With thirty two life forms before him, there are no active vitals. Blood from the slaughtered humans stains the sand they lie in black, and many of them have been brutally dismembered or crushed nearly beyond recognition.

Sunstreaker- “Ick…”

Sideswipe- “Don’t get squeamish now, Sunstreaker. Look, tracks! They lead into the ruins. That must be where the Decepticons are. Quick! We can get the drop on them!”

Sideswipe rolls into robot mode and arms his shoulder mounted flare launcher. He sneaks up to the temple entrance, but turns to see his brother lingers beyond the human remains in vehicle mode.

Sideswipe- “Hey, come on! What’re you waiting for?”

Sunstreaker- “Are you insane?! If your scanners have detected half of the bacteria and organic matter you’re waltzing in, you’d have some sense and stay here! We can ambush the Decepticons when they come out!”

Sideswipe- “From way over there? Using what cover?”

Sunstreaker- “Um…Well, we could bury ourselves under the sand and pop out when they are close!”

Sideswipe- “And if they fly away instead? Or head in another direction? Of if they come out while we’re in the middle of digging a hole?”

Sunstreaker- “Well we could be done in the time it takes us to argue!”

Sideswipe- “Fine! Sit there and dig your hole! I’ll handle this.”

Sunstreaker- “ Sideswipe! Sideswipe!!!”

Ignoring his twin’s cries, the crimson clad Autobot sneaks into the ruins. Surprisingly, they seemed to be designed with Cybertronian proportions in mind, as Sideswipe doesn’t even need to duck to enter the great hall of the temple. Sunstreaker, not a historian himself, also notes that the symbols carved on the structure are reminiscent of Cybertronian, but he couldn’t recognize the form. It gave him a very uneasy feeling.

*Commercial Break*

Sunstreaker frantically scans the entrance to the temple, but keeps his distance from the ‘organic mess’. It isn’t long before he detects a slight tremor coming from the Garlock fault, but he is unable to confirm its origins. Suddenly, the entrance to the ruins belches a cloud of dust, smoke, and sand. Sunstreaker spins into robot mode. He waits for the dust to clear as he takes aim with his Electron Pulse Blaster. He never expects what he sees next. A monstrous hulk of a machine has his twin brother pinned to the ground with massive claws [Powercore Combiners Bombshock, Super mode].

Before Sunstreaker can even take a shot, he’s riddled by machine gun fire. He covers up to minimize damage. When the spray of gunfire ceases, he sees a pair of optics smoldering back at him from the shadows of the ruins.

???- “There aren’t supposed to be any Autobots here.”

Sunstreaker- “I recognize that voice. Bludgeon! Since when did Megatron let you off your leash?!”

Bludgeon [Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Class Bludgeon]- “I couldn’t care less about Megatron or the Decepticons. I will lead the Destructicons to galactic domination, and I won’t allow you to spoil my plans.”

Bludgeons voice is cold and stony. Before Sunstreaker can ready his blaster, a high-voltage electric cannon discharges from the Destructicon’s torso. The blast rips through the outer layers of the Autobot’s armor. Sunstreaker keels over, he looks up to see the metallic monster tearing his brother limb from limb. Before Sunstreaker can gather his wits, Blundgeon is on top of him with a violet Energon blade deployed from his wrist.

Bludgeon- “Prattling fool…”

Sunstreaker’s optics don’t catch the movement of the blade. There’s a flash, a slim purple line, and all motor function is lost. As he descends into stasis, Sunstreaker is witness to one final moment.

Bludgeon- “That’s enough, Bombshock. Leave the Autobot alive. I’m certain there are more where these two came from. If we kill even one of them, they will be all the more spurned to hunt us down. If we leave them crippled, they will spend their time assisting their fallen warriors. Power-down and aid your drones in transporting the cargo. We must return to base.”

The last thing Sunstreaker sees is Bombshock as it appears to fall apart. Each of its limbs reconfigures into a vehicle of various destructive make, and the core piece first turns into a smaller robot, and then into an artillery truck itself. Stasis finally takes hold, and the record ends.

The office is dimly lit. An older man, in his late fifties, sits at the desk. He nurses a glass of vodka while he pours over reports on his computer. Opposite stands one of his agents with a file in hand.

Special Agent- “We have a report, sir. Satellite surveillance has discovered an unsanctioned dig site, being visited by a military contingent that the army doesn’t recognize. Also, two civilian vehicles of similar make abandoned the dessert highway approximately fifty miles south of the site, and were headed directly for it.”

Director- “Yes, I’m fully aware of the situation Agent Adams.”

Adams- “Sir, it’s very strange. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s going on out there? Is this something to worry about?”

Director- “You did an excellent job by bringing this report straight to me, Jerry. I’ll handle it from here. Don’t lend these strange events a second thought. In fact, why don’t you take the rest of the day off. You’ve been working hard, and deserve a break to spend some time with your wife and son. What is Jeff now, twelve?”

Adams- “Ugh…Yessir.”

Director- “An important time for a boy to be with his Dad. Take my advice, Jerry. Forget about this report, and relax. Everything it well in hand.”

Adams- “Yessir…”

Special Agent Jerome Adams leaves the office with a disturbed look. He’s never spent a lot of time with the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He’s certainly never made mention of his family. Intelligence is the name of the game, but he didn’t like the Director’s tone.

Attachment: E-mail recovered from unknown source, originated from the Director’s office on the date posted for this record.

Original Message- I’ve attached all the files on the incident, as requested. The originals have all been erased, as has all footage and source material from their points of origin. It is as you stated. Derek found the site, did us the favor of purging it. Andrew found them. Derek disabled Andrew, and left.

Reply- Affirmative. Bury the site. Use the drones. No terrans are to be part of the operation. Do not reply to this message. I will contact you prior to the next meeting of Andrew and Derek with special instructions.
