This thread will be used for a series of short stories that will relate in some way to my main story, Knightfall. To properly understand what is happening, it would be best to read Knightfall first, but these stories may also be read as stand-alone chronicles of Cybertron's history. The first story is self-explanatory. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to reading everyone's thoughts. Thank you.

Note: Some of my stories may be rather grotesque, and readers are warned now that there may be uncomfortably descriptive events that involve violence.

The intense heat from the smelting pits was almost too much for the young Transformer to bear. As a soldier, he was built for strength and endurance, but his mining cousins were better equipped for such conditions. What was a soldier doing in a smelting chamber? He was wondering the exact same question. The soldier had no recollections of how or why he had got to the chamber, only that he was presently tied upside down by the feet, suspended over a large barrel of red-hot metal. The soldier tried to lift himself up so that he could pry the carbon-fibre coils off of his ankles, but the combination of the heat from the barrel beneath him and a curious aching in his joints made the effort pointless.

“You may stop struggling, soldier.” A cold voice called out from the soldier’s left.

He turned his head to see an average-sized Transformer with rectangular wings on his back and a black and white colour scheme. A red crest adorned the Transformer’s helmet, clashing oddly with his cool blue eyes. By his side, he held a standard grey rifle with several odd attachments. The Transformer looked to be a law-enforcement officer of some kind.

“My name is Prowl, and I have brought you here on account of some troubling rumours that I have heard.” The Transformer explained to the soldier. “According to several contacts I have in Kaon, there have been many curious uprisings among the soldier ranks. Is that correct?”

The soldier knew exactly what Prowl was speaking of, because he was the one who was orchestrating the uprisings. But, of course, Prowl couldn’t know that, so he lied.

“There may be, but I have no knowledge of them.” The soldier replied confidently. “Now, is this really necessary? I am certain interrogations would be better if performed under comfortable conditions.”

“I have been in the Autobot Law Enforcement Division all my life. In that time, I have seen many prisoners interrogated in the manner you are suggesting.” Prowl recalled. “It does not change anything. Either way, the prisoner will always spill the information I need. For if they don’t, I have legal clearance to use any means I need to get it.”

Prowl pushed a lever on a console to his right. The coil suspending the soldier suddenly gave way, and he plummeted down towards a blazing metal death. Just before that, however, Prowl stepped forward and caught the soldier by his left shin. Prowl showed no signs of struggling, but the soldier’s considerable size would take its toll soon.

“What is your name, soldier?” Prowl demanded.

“I have no name, and you know that full well.” The soldier responded angrily. “My comrades are not even important enough for one, in the eyes of the Autobot command. They believe we will fight back like our ancestors did, so they restrict us. But in doing so, they make it more likely for us to follow in the footsteps of the past!”

“I know all of that.” Prowl said quietly. “But I must thank you. You gave me the reason for why the soldiers are rebelling, and that information will be invaluable to High Command. Perhaps I can talk them into eliminating the soldiers all together, so that no further complications will arise.” Prowl did not smile, but his tone sounded far happier than it should have. “You will come with me to the Kaon Prison, where you will spend the rest of your miserable life.”

“On what charges?” The soldier shouted, enraged.

“No charges whatsoever. But if my ideas do go through with Command, then I will be doing you a favour. You will escape the eradication of soldiers from Cybertron.” Prowl smiled that time, and pulled the soldier out of the barrel. He slapped a pair of statis cuffs onto the soldier’s wrists before he could escape, then stood him up. “So in a way, I am saving your life right now.”

The soldier growled menacingly, but stopped when Prowl pushed him the small of his back, and he was forced to walk forward across the bridge that crossed the smelting chamber. Prowl stayed silent the whole time, and the only indications of his presence to the soldier were further jabs in the back when he slowed down.

Prowl and his prisoner exited the smelting building after passing through another chamber and a main hall. Outside was Kaon, the mining capital of Cybertron that doubled as a convict facility. A thick haze blanketed the entirety of Kaon, so navigation was troublesome. But the soldier had lived there his entire life as a prison guard, so he knew his way around. He thought of the irony, that he would soon be captive in the very walls he had protected.

At the entrance to the prison, the warden came to meet Prowl. The warden was twice Prowl’s height, but still shorter than the soldier. He was very thin and lanky, with long arms like swords. The warden had no face, instead a visor took up the majority of the front of his head. Prowl looked fearless, but internally he always hated seeing the warden. Nothing was more creepy and mysterious than him.

“Warden, I have a new convict for you.” Prowl shoved the soldier forward violently. He moved to accompany the solider inside, but the warden blocked him with his right arm. “What?”

“I will take it from here, Autobot.” The warden said softly. His voice was deep and lifeless.

Prowl was deeply offended, but nonetheless turned and walked off without another word. The warden grabbed the soldier by the cuffs around his wrists and pushed him inside. When it was just the two of them, the warden stopped, then deactivated the statis cuffs. He looked expectantly at the soldier.

“He was curious about the uprisings.” The soldier explained. “But I doubt he will be a problem again. They are nearly ready, Soundwave, all we have to do is wait until Prowl returns to Kaon with more Autobots. Then we will have our revenge, and they will all know the glory that is the soldiers of Cybertron.”

After Prowl’s departure, there were no further visitors to Kaon for several weeks. The soldiers all grew restless as they awaited his return. Soundwave and the soldier leader were adamant that the attack would come soon, and without warning, but the rest of Kaon was unsure. At least, until the commanders were proven right.

In the early hours of the day that was exactly one month to the soldier’s ‘conviction’, a fierce roar split the silence of the sky apart. Five drop-ships hovered outside the prison, and multitudes of Autobot peacekeepers leaped out, their rifles raised and swords at the ready. Prowl had lied. The prison was to be the first target, so that all of the apparent ‘evil-doers’ would be eradicated as well as the soldiers themselves. But to the Autobots, evidently there was no distinction there.

The soldier and Soundwave stood at the ready as the Autobots arrived on the prison doorstep. One of them, a smaller-than-average scout, stepped forward. He was yellow and black, and had a head like a marshmallow with two small horns sticking out. Despite the scout’s size, the badge of the Elite Guard adorned his chest.

“My name is Bumblebee, and I do not agree with the sentiments my superiors have given.” The little scout called out bravely. “I do not wish for there to be bloodshed, but if you do not surrender peacefully, there will be!”

“Big talk from such a tiny Autobot.” The soldier stepped forward towards the scout.

“We outnumber you 10 to 1, and our weapons can level your buildings in a matter of seconds. I am not bluffing. Now stand down, and surrender!” Bumblebee pleaded.

“No.” The soldier said simply, before suddenly punching Bumblebee clean in the face, sending him flying back to his ranks.

Before the Autobots could react, the soldier was upon them. Though there were 100 of them and only one of him, the soldier attacked without fear. He grabbed the first Autobot he reached around the waist, then used him as a hammer to beat the others away. Heads were dislodged by the sheer force of impact, and Energon gushed out of bloody wounds from the soldier’s razor-sharp elbows and knees. In a minute, half of the Autobots were lying as corpses upon the metal ground, holes punched through their bodies or decapitated heads lying a few metres away.

The remaining Autobots desperately fired on the soldier, but he shrugged off their bullets and continued on his rampage. He grabbed two and smashed their heads together, then crushed three more with a single stomp of his foot. The Autobots dispersed in sheer terror, but they couldn’t escape. None escaped the wrath of the soldier.

When every Autobot lay dead around him, their Energon staining his armour and the ground beneath his feet, the soldier grabbed Bumblebee by the neck, and brought him close to his face.

“You have heart, young Autobot. It would be a shame to ruin something so valuable. So this is what we will do. You will look directly into my eyes, and remember everything I say. You will remember my face. You will store it in your memory, forever. Understood?” The soldier asked. Bumblebee nodded, trembling in pain and horror. “My people have been restricted for far too long. We demand equal peace throughout Cybertron, and we have no problems achieving that by force. If an entirely new leadership will have to be made, so be it. But remember this, Autobot.” The soldier forced Bumblebee to look at the corpses around him. “No one can escape us. No one can stop us. Everyone will yield eventually.” Bumblebee looked back at the soldier. “Everyone will bow to me. Everyone will bow to Megatronus!”

Megatronus suddenly closed his fist, snapping the Autobot’s neck. Bumblebee’s head rolled off, and Megatronus threw the lifeless body aside. He ignored the bodies all around him, crushing them beneath his feet and wiping the dripping blue liquid from them off his armour. He reached Soundwave.

“Make it happen.” Megatronus said simply, before entering the prison. The doors slammed shut behind him.

The next day, in the Autobot capital of Iacon, a metal box arrived at the Decagon from a mysterious sender. The Autobots retrieved it and brought it up to their commander, Ultra Magnus. Magnus, who was just a general at the time, sat the box on his desk and opened it. Inside, a metal plate covered the contents. On the plate, a message was scratched on:

“What has been seen, cannot be unseen. What has been heard, cannot be unheard.”

Ultra Magnus ignored the cryptic message and pulled the plate out. He nearly went into statis in shock. Inside the box was the still bleeding head of Bumblebee, covered in his team’s Energon, lifeless eyes looking up at Magnus. Knowing exactly what the message meant, Ultra Magnus carefully cleaned the head and retrieved the processor from inside it. He plugged it into a specially designed port in his tablet, and the last moments of Bumblebee’s life were relived.

Ultra Magnus heard Megatronus’s speech, cringing at every word, then gasped when the Autobot battalions’ bodies were shown. Magnus was speechless. The last thing Bumblebee ever saw, and the most troubling thing to Ultra Magnus, was the terrifying red glare of Megatronus.

Very well written story. It was a great idea to separate these kinds of stories from the original post. Looking forward to more :)

Thank you guys. I originially intended for Bumblebee to lose his voice as he has by Megatron's hand in the official continuities, but I thought it would be more symbolic if he lost his head. ;)

Here is the next story of Deceptive Beginnings, titled "The Mutineer" (the first story was titled "The Soldier").

A purple and grey Decepticon tank crashed over a weakened metal wall in the streets of Strebor. Autobots called out in panic as the tank fired upon them, blowing body parts and street debris every which way. Explosions from the tank’s rounds shook the ground, but the Decepticon relished the challenge and adapted his treads to compensate. He aimed a fire round at a weak-looking support for a nearby building, and it burst into flame. The fire ate away the metal in speeds that shouldn’t have been possible, and the building tumbled over. It crashed in the middle of the street, blocking the Decepticon’s path, so he shot it again, clearing a path.

It was the third day of the Decepticon Siege on Strebor, led by the warlord Galvatron. At first, there had been resistance, but before long the Autobots realised how hopeless their chances were, so they chose to flee their fortress. None had yet made it out alive.

The Decepticon tank crawled over an especially large piece of rubble, then transformed. Pieces of the tank violently popped out then span and pulled back together in new configurations. The cannon jerked out suddenly, and the treads pushed onto the ground, lifting the tank off the ground. A humanoid shape was distinguishable as the torso snapped into place and the treads disappeared into thick, powerful legs. Two arms reached out from the turret of the tank, the right taking the cannon with it, and slid noisily into the shoulders. The Decepticon’s head finally rose from the collar, showing three prongs before glowing orange eyes and a crazed smile.

“HAIL GALVATRON!” The Decepticon screamed out, curdling the Energon of every Autobot in earshot. “Come and meet your deaths, Autobots, and fall with honour, for there is no greater honour than to die by Galvatron’s hand!”

Galvatron leaped off the rubble and landed solidly on the surface below. Fires licked up at him and smoke shaded his vision, but Galvatron paid no attention as he continued to call for challengers. None came willingly, so he decided to look for them himself. After rounding a corner into the lower levels of the hollow shell of a skyscraper, Galvatron spotted the glint of the sun on a metal leg as it disappeared behind a pillar. Galvatron raised his right arm and fired at the pillar. Two voices screamed out, but were abruptly silenced as the pillar collapsed on them.

Galvatron laughed maniacally, then continued to search for more. He left the skyscraper and came upon a wide open courtyard. There was no debris scattered throughout it like the rest of the city, instead, Autobots were scattered throughout it. Galvatron’s eyes lit up evilly and he raised his cannon once again. In one shot, he completely obliterated a group of Autobots, then he picked off the rest as they fled. When two dared to come close, Galvatron punched straight through their spark chambers, retrieving their sparks in the process. He pulled his hands back out of the recently-lifeless bodies, and stuffed the glowing blue spheres into his mouth. Energon dripped off of his lips and the energy from the sparks flowed into Galvatron’s own.

Galvatron transformed back into tank form (in just as violent a manner as before) and drove off to the other side of the courtyard. The Autobot corpses that had escaped total disintegration crumbled like paper beneath his mighty treads. When Galvatron reached the opposite end of the courtyard, he paused and signalled his lieutenants. In a matter of seconds, a sleek, angular purple jet screamed through the morning sky, closely followed by a wide, blocky, blue and white bomber.

The jet transformed in mid-air. The wings slid smoothly to the back as arms and legs extended from the fuselage. The end-robot was majestic and elegant as he touched down on the ground in front of Galvatron, as light as a feather. His helmet was like a samurais, with two horns sticking out of the top. His face was entirely black, like a shadow, save for two small, intelligent red eyes. His body looked like an ancient warrior’s and two swords with dark grey blades were sheathed on his hips.

Behind him, the bomber also transformed in mid-air. His transformation was like a mix of the jet’s and Galvatron’s with an equal amount of violence and fluidness. His wings ended up forming a cape of sorts on his back, and his body shape was stocky, though he was slightly taller than Galvatron, and slightly shorter than Cyclonus. A moustache-like plate adorned his face, and his fingers ended in claws. A radar-like appendage stuck out of his head. His yellow eyes were proud and challenging. The bomber ended up looking like a robotic medieval king or pope.

Galvatron transformed himself, and the other two bowed.

“Rise, my brothers, we are equals here!” Galvatron smiled pleasantly. “Cyclonus,” he addressed the purple jet, “how is the East going?”

“The Autobots are pitiful, Galvatron. They hide like cowards, but I eliminated the last of them as I received your call.” Cyclonus reported, with a hint of disgust. He had a strong sense of honour and nobility. Galvatron nodded, then looked expectantly at Scourge.

“They fled immediately, and split up into pairs. Of course, this was no trouble for me.” Scourge looked very pleased with himself. He took great pride in his hunting skills. “What are we to do now?”

“Now that there are no Autobots on the surface to stop us from making it to the Temple, we can do so.” Galvatron explained. “I will meet you two there. Should you see any Autobot survivors, let none survive any longer.”

Galvatron’s lieutenants nodded and transformed, soaring into the sky and out of sight. Galvatron looked at a small building that had gotten by unharmed. Seeing it as a suitable way forward, Galvatron blew a hole in the building, then walked through it. He did not meet anymore resistance until he reached the Temple. It was a grand and beautifully crafted structure, with many arches and piers and buttresses and gargoyles, all made of gold and silver. The roof was domed and reflected the sun’s rays gorgeously.

In front of the Temple stood Cyclonus and Scourge, who each had an Autobot by the throat. They looked to be in the middle of an interrogation, so Galvatron stayed back. However, he quickly grew impatient, and blew the Autobots out of his lieutenant’s hands. They looked back in surprise.

“I almost had the ritual to open the Temple, Galvatron!” Cyclonus protested.

“We could just find another Autobot. I will have it done in a maximum of five minutes.” Scourge offered, keen to shows his skills again.

“There is no need for that, I’m right here!” A voice called out from the Temple walls.

Galvatron and his lieutenants looked over to see a well-built red and white Autobot pull out a rifle. Galvatron simply laughed, and motioned for Cyclonus to take care of him. Cyclonus nodded, and was off in the blink of an eye. He seemed to disappear into the shadows around the Temple as he moved, so the Autobot lost track. Suddenly, a dark blade slashed out from behind one of the pillars, sending a shockwave into the Autobot. The Autobot was thrown into the pillar, snapping his back. It was painful, but not lethal.

“What is your name, soldier.” Cyclonus, who had seemingly teleported to the Autobot, asked as he pushed his sword against the Autobot’s throat.

“Red Alert.” The Autobot confessed. “But you won’t be getting into the temple, I can guarantee that!”

“Yes, we will.” Galvatron said from behind Cyclonus. He pointed his cannon at the Temple and fired, sending the beautiful construction crashing down to the ground.

“No! That is a sacred Temple, Decepticons!” Red Alert tried to get up, but Cyclonus sent him crashing down with a simple kick.

Galvatron and Scourge climbed over the rubble and into the Temple, leaving Cyclonus to deal with Red Alert. Cyclonus looked into the Autobot’s red visor, and felt no hesitation, no pity. Instead of taking his life, however, Cyclonus turned and started to leave. Red Alert jumped up and tried to tackle him, but Cyclonus whirled around and sliced his left hand cleanly off. It dropped onto the ground, convulsing, and Energon and circuits leaked out of the wrist. Red Alert collapsed in pain, and Cyclonus left him there.

Inside, the cavernous main hall stretched high, the ceiling decorated with intricate markings of ancient nature. In the centre of the hall was a grand metal tomb: the tomb of Nova Prime. There hadn’t been a Prime since Nova, and that was millennia ago. Galvatron, with no hesitation, walked up to the tomb, and effortlessly slid the top off. Inside, the peaceful body of Nova Prime lay. Galvatron grabbed the Prime by his neck and threw him out of the tomb. Beneath him was a chest. Galvatron bent down and carefully lifted it from the tomb, then set it down on the ground. He opened it apprehensively.

A purple glow illuminated Galvatron’s face and drew Cyclonus and Scourge nearer. Inside the chest, a single, glowing purple Energon crystal was the only contents. Cyclonus pointed out that lettering along the sides of the chest spelt a warning, but Galvatron ignored him. He lifted the crystal out of the chest and pulled it into his torso. His body absorbed the crystal, and Galvatron began to shake uncontrollably. His eyes glowed brighter than before, and a purple glow could be seen in the gaps between his armour. The glow of his cannon changed from orange to purple. After several seconds, Galvatron stopped moving.

    “Galvatron?” Scourge stepped forward.

“No, Scourge. Lord Galvatron!” Galvatron corrected as he turned to see his lieutenants. “Do you know what this is?”

“It is the Blood of Unicron, Dark Energon.” Cyclonus answered in wonder. “I thought it was non-existent until now.”

Galvatron smiled widely, then pointed his cannon at one of the Temple walls, and fired. A continuous blast of pure energy buffeted the wall, knocking it down, sending smoke and dust everywhere. Galvatron cackled loudly.

“This…this is the edge the Decepticons need to win the War!” He remarked. “No Autobot would dare challenge me in this state!”

“Shall I alert Lord Megatronus?” Scourge asked.

Galvatron backhanded him, sending Scourge into the debris. “Megatronus is a weakling, and a coward. He would rather make plans and co-ordinate attacks! This attack wasn’t co-ordinated, and look what has become of the great Autobot city!”

Galvatron and Cyclonus both looked out of the gaping hole the former had left in the front wall. The city was a smoking ruin, every building was either a hollow shell or collapsed. Fires flickered everywhere, sending smoke high into the sky and casting soft glows onto the darker parts of the city.

“This is what we accomplished as a trio, with no outside aid.” Galvatron grinned. “Now imagine what we could do with the power of the Dark God himself on our side! Decepticons, we head for Kaon. Megatronus’s leadership is reaching the end of its days.”

Cyclonus transformed and shot out of the Temple and into the sky. Scourge rose from the rubble and transformed, then hovered so that Galvatron could grab onto his wings. When his leader was safely secured, Scourge burst out of the Temple, following Cyclonus into the midday sky. They flew for several hours, all the while with no strain on neither Scourge nor Galvatron. When the tall, angular structures of the Decepticon fortress came into view, Galvatron laughed maniacally.

The Decepticon trio landed just outside the gladiatorial arena of Kaon, which had been constructed over the spot where Megatronus defeated 100 Autobots single-handedly. They transformed into their robot forms then walked inside. In the centre of the arena, Megatronus was standing across from a hopeful challenger. The challenger charged at Megatronus, but he simply dodged and used one of his swords to swipe the challenger’s head clean from his shoulders. Megatronus smiled, then his smile faded when he looked up to see Galvatron.

“What brings you here, Galvatron?” Megatronus called out.

“The time has come for a new Decepticon leadership, Megatronus. Stand down now, or I will take you down myself.” Galvatron warned.

“I will never willingly stand down, Galvatron. You will have to take my position from me yourself.” Megatronus unsheathed his other sword. His expression was deathly serious.

“So be it.” Galvatron smiled widely.

Galvatron charged at Megatronus, but just as the Decepticon leader made to use the same tactic as before, Galvatron rolled along the ground and kicked Megatronus’s legs out. He fell onto the ground, and Galvatron placed his own sword against Megatronus’s Decepticon emblem on his chest. Galvatron thrust forward, but Megatron batted the blade aside with his bare hand, then he shot Galvatron point-blank with his fusion cannon. The other Decepticon was pushed back, but no damage showed on his armour. Ordinarily, a blast from Megatronus’s cannon meant certain death.

Galvatron shot Megatronus with his cannon, blowing Megatronus’s right arm clean from its socket. In shock, Megatronus hesitated, and Galvatron used this opportunity to leap into the air, and aim a flying punch straight into Megatronus’s jaw. The Decepticon leader collapsed, and Galvatron picked up Megatronus’s own sword, then stabbed it straight through Megatronus’s chest. The Decepticon fell onto the ground, and Galvatron stood victorious above him.

    “All hail Galvatron!” Galvatron roared.

The Decepticon spectators were terrified. They had never seen such power from anyone, and that power had destroyed their leader. The Decepticons were in the hands of a madman now. Galvatron walked over to the edge of the arena opposite the entrance, where a massive statue of Megatronus was erected. With a single blast from his cannon, the statue was blown into smithereens.

The reign of Megatronus, which had lasted barely two hundred years, was over. The reign of Galvatron, however, was just beginning.

Who said Megatron's dead? ;)  Thanks guys. I don't have an update, but I do want to give some voices and appearance notes for the characters.

Megatronus: less stylised Animated Earth design (same colours); voiced by Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from the LOTR trilogy)

Galvatron: imagine Cybertron Galvatron but a lot thicker and with a tank alt-mode and a fusion cannon (colours are the same, with a little purple); voiced by Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort)

Cyclonus: Animated design with MTMTE proportions (dark purple); voiced by Alan Rickman (Professor Snape)

Scourge: G1 design with not-hot-pink nails and instead of bat wings, a cape (blue and white); voiced by Jason Isaacs (Ra's Al Ghul, Lucius Malfoy)

Soundwave: Prime design, no changes whatsoever; voiced by Paul Bettany (sinister version of JARVIS)

That's all for now, I hope this helps with the visualisation when reading my stories. Also, please note that these stories do not happen right after one another. There is a 200 year gap between The Soldier and The Mutineer.

This is awesome! I like Megatronus' epic pwnage of EVERYONE in the first part, including poor Bumblebee, and Galvatron's subsequent uprising, including the defeat of Megatronus. And Prowl must be tough; Soundwave's twice as tall, Megatronus even more so, but Prowl still held up the latter over a melting pit without much effort! :D

You've done a good job, my friend! Keep up the good work :D

Thanks for the kind words everyone! :)

Here is a story involving a personal favourite of mine. It is the first of a two-parter, and is written so that a non-Transformers fan could also enjoy it whilst getting the information they need. If I accomplish this, please let me know. Enjoy!

    The Seeker

In the starry sky above the metallic planet Cybertron’s equatorial area, a flash of sunlight reflected off a fighter jet. The jet was easily cutting through the sky using its sleek, aerodynamic frame. The jet banked sharply, displaying its simple red, black and white paintjob, as well as a set of three missiles beneath each wing. A pointed purple emblem was proudly displayed in the centre of both wings. Though its purpose was a mystery to any onlookers from the surface, everyone knew what the jet was.

It was a Seeker, the legendary aerial warriors of Cybertron. The Seekers were widely known for their flying skills and air superiority, as well as their typically gentleman-like personalities. Though not all Seekers were educated or of noble descent, they all had some degree of formality about them. Seekers were well-respected citizens of Cybertron, and always returned this to the general populace, as well as their superiors.

The Seeker jet dipped into a steep dive, and started to accelerate. Three dozen or so metres from the surface, the Seeker suddenly rolled vertically and its entire frame began to shift. The nose flipped a full 180 degrees down against the underside of the fuselage, and the air intakes flipped 90 degrees with the nose. The wings split into two halves, the forward halves much smaller than the rear ones. The forward wing pieces turned and slotted into place against the air intakes, then the rest of the wings folded up against the top of the fuselage. Two arm-like appendages popped out of the fuselage and snapped into sockets beneath the air intakes. The rest of the jet morphed into legs, with the two engines ending up as heels. A head rose from the body.

By the time the jet reached the ground, it had completely transformed into a giant robot. The robot had the same sleek silhouette of the jet, as well as the same colouring. Its head was black and almost box-like, with an intelligent grey face and two proud yellow optics. The robot landed softly in front of a tall hangar. Its mouth curled into a smirk as it opened a panel on its forearm and clicked a button. The massive hangar doors hissed and folded in on themselves.

Inside the hangar, several similar robots were walking around performing their everyday duties. One was tinkering with one of the engines on a blocky purple drop-ship, another was observing an acid eat away a metal plate while recording its observations in a tablet-like device. The whole hangar was littered with various objects, but upon inspection it was all very neatly organised. All of the robots were Seekers, and they all had academic hobbies like engineering and science.

The red, black and white Seeker robot entered the hangar and approached a similarly shaped purple and black Seeker, who was shooting targets with a long sniper rifle. The sniper Seeker stopped as the other reached his side, and saluted respectfully. The red, black and white Seeker nodded and spoke.

“Thank you, Skywarp.” It said. It had a male voice with a soft but cold edge. “I have come to check on the new equipment that I ordered in the last deca-cycle.”

“Of course, Commander Starscream.” Skywarp replied. His voice was deeper and more brutish than Starscream’s. “Swindle just delivered the order a couple clicks ago.”

Skywarp laid down his sniper rifle on the table beside him, then led Starscream over to a pile of crates. Skywarp’s steps were much heavier than Starscream’s light ones, despite their similar body-type. When they reached the crates, Skywarp effortlessly lifted the top one off of the others and placed it on the ground. He typed a series of numbers into a keypad on the crate’s lid, and the lid opened like a chest.

Inside the crate, three racks of spear-looking weapons were neatly stacked. Each rack had four of the weapons, each identical to one another. Starscream delicately grabbed one of the weapons and examined it closely. He then snapped it onto his right bicep and aimed it at the target Skywarp had been previously aiming for. With a simple flex of his index finger, a beam of energy shot out from the weapon and impacted in the exact centre of the target. Starscream smiled, impressed.

“Most impressive.” Skywarp remarked appreciatively. “What are they called?”

“Null rays.” A sophisticated-sounding male voice answered from behind Starscream. It was the third of the Seekers who shared Starscream and Skywarp’s body type, the one who was testing the acid before. He was red and blue, and had yellow eyes like the others. But unlike Skywarp’s challenging eyes and Starscream’s proud ones, the third Seeker had soft, almost kind eyes.

“Welcome, Thundercracker.” Starscream nodded to the third Seeker. “I presume your tests were successful?”

“Quite so.” Thundercracker replied simply. “I have already inspected the null rays, and I believe they should be standard-issue for all Seekers.”

“I agree.” Starscream nodded as he mounted another null ray from the crate on his left bicep. “They are weapons for civilised and skilled folk.”

“Pass us some, Starscream, I want a try!” Skywarp said eagerly. In his excitement he knocked Starscream over and the impact triggered one of the null rays. The resulting laser blew a hole in the roof of the hangar.

“Skywarp, you imbecile!” Starscream stood up and whacked Skywarp across the back of the head. He was quite different from the cold commander he was before in his embarrassment. “You could have gotten me killed!”

“I-I’m sorry Starscream, it won’t happen again!” Skywarp frantically apologised.

“Enough!” Starscream yelled viciously. “Go back to your target practice, and try to hit something that won’t want to rip you apart!”

Skywarp hurried away, feeling quite ashamed. Starscream shook his head slightly, and regained his composure. He turned to Thundercracker, and found that he had been joined by two more Seekers during his outburst at Skywarp. They both had the same body-type, but it was different to Starscream and Thundercracker’s. It was bulkier, and more heavily built, whilst still being streamlined. The wings were set on the back and jutted out like an isosceles triangle on the back. One was orange and yellow, and the other was a dark and light shade of green. There were already null rays mounted on the newcomers’ arms.

“Starscream, that was quite the commotion!” The orange Seeker remarked. His voice was very formal, almost snobbish.

“Yes it was, no we will not be discussing it further!” Starscream snapped. “Where is the third Rainmaker, I need to see Ice Storm immediately.”

“Why?” The green Seeker asked curiously.

“Because, Acid Storm, I need to see him!” Starscream answered cryptically. He was becoming quite flustered by all the events happening in such quick succession.

“Okay, okay Starscream!” Acid Storm held up his hands and backed away. “I’ll go have a look for him!”

Acid Storm turned and walked off, leaving the orange Seeker behind.

“I was just working on the drop-ship, Starscream. It is absolutely superb!” The orange Seeker said proudly.

“I’m sure. Now contact the Combaticons and let them know at once Sunstorm.” Starscream waved him away, then turned back to Thundercracker. “Finally! Now that I have some decent company, we have some things to discuss.”

“I’m flattered, Commander.” Thundercracker smiled slightly and nodded.

“The Autobots are starting to push down from their northern fortresses, Thundercracker. I just returned from Kaon, and our fearless leader Megatronus,” Starscream spat the word like a curse, “is ordering us to hold them off. Why I chose to ally the Seekers with that ‘bot is starting to fade from my memory, but I am adamant that we will soon be giving him the orders!”

“Why is that?” Thundercracker asked innocently.

“Soon the Seekers will be the ones with the power over the skies!” Starscream clenched his fist and swished it into the air above him. “But for now, we have to lay low and carry out the orders as Megatronus gives them.”

“What is your problem with him, Commander?” Thundercracker looked like he agreed with Starscream’s words, but asked nevertheless.

“For millennia it was us with the high standing and the respect among all of Cybertron’s citizens. Now he has delegated us to being simple guardians. I have no delusions of grandeur or greedy motives, Thundercracker, I only wish to restore the noble Seekers to their deserved position. Like the Combaticons, the Decepticons and Megatronus have ruined our duties. But their motives are relatable, so we will not make any move on the cause itself. Only the leadership.” Starscream explained quietly, pretending to inspect his new null rays.

“I agree with everything you are saying, Commander, but I do not understand why you have singled me out among the others.” Thundercracker conceded. He was a very humble Seeker, and perhaps the most honourable of them all.

“Skywarp, while still my third lieutenant, is a cowardly fool. The Rainmakers, I trust them as far as I can throw them. Do NOT get me started on Slipstream!” Starscream emphasised the last sentence with a snarl. “You are the most intelligent and loyal of them all, Thundercracker. Do not disappoint me by betraying my trust.”

“I will not, Commander.” Thundercracker promised.

Just as Thundercracker finished, an ice blue Seeker came rushing over, screaming something all the way. It took Starscream a couple seconds to register what he was saying: “Get out!” The look on the Seeker’s face told Starscream that he wasn’t playing a joke or anything of the sort, so he jumped and transformed back into his jet form. He shot out of the hangar, narrowly dodging the more towering stacks of equipment. Thundercracker was close behind him in his own jet form, which was the same model as Starscream’s. Just as all of the Seekers had similarly followed them, the entire hangar blew apart in an explosive inferno of orange flames.

The heat reached Starscream even as he continued to fly away, and it sizzled his tailfins. He could only imagine what it was like closer to the blast. Starscream continued flying until he couldn’t feel the heat anymore, then he dived sharply and transformed. He landed on the ground and heard the similarly soft landings of six more Seekers. They all turned to look at the hangar, which was still ablaze in the distance.

The Seekers had landed in the middle of an old ruin, presumably a temple of some sort long ago. The temperature had dropped considerably, so the Seekers were freezing instead of burning.

“What in the name of Primus was that?!” Skywarp demanded, flabbergasted.

“An Autobot attack.” The seventh Seeker answered. She had a cold voice, almost like a female version of Starscream’s. Her body-type was a slimmed down combination of the male Seekers’ bodies. “I don’t think they’re finished yet though.”

The Seeker pointed at a cluster of shapes approaching from the direction of the inferno. They were closing in quickly, but the Seekers still had time to spare.

“Retreat into the ruins, we can ambush them when they arrive.” Starscream ordered urgently.

The Seekers branched out and hid amongst the ruined structures of the old temple. The Rainmakers all took positions behind fallen piers, whilst Skywarp and the female Seeker moved into sniper-friendly lookouts on the roof of the temple. Thundercracker and Starscream hid amongst some fallen rubble close to the entrance. There they all waited for what felt like a hexa-cycle, but was in reality only one cycle.

The sound of tires screeching to a halt outside the outer walls was magnified in the silence. The soft sounds of the objects transforming into robots was quieter, but just as distinct to the Seekers. Six robots with bright white colouring walked inside the main entrance. They were all of the same body-type, not unlike the Seekers. They were Auto-troopers, the police force of the Cybertron capital Iacon turned cannon fodder. They were clinical and precise in their execution, but their slightly decreased processor activity made them ineffective against more skilled opponents. However, six of them were still a force to be reckoned with.

“Commander Ironhide said they landed in these ruins. Spread out and don’t hesitate to make some noise if you’re engaged.” One of the Auto-troopers ordered.

The Auto-troopers immediately panned out. They made the mistake of going off by themselves, so the moment one of them was out of sight of the rest, Skywarp blew its head to pieces using his sniper rifle. The female Seeker took another out similarly. Within a matter of seconds, only one Auto-trooper remained, with its fellows all executed by Skywarp and the female Seeker. The Auto-trooper had taken the hint, and was making sure not to leave cover. Unfortunately for it, it was easier for the Rainmakers to approach him undetected.

Sunstorm reached the other side of the fallen pier that the Auto-trooper was taking shelter behind. He placed his palms flat against the pier, and focused. The metal around his hands began to turn red from an intense heat generated by Sunstorm, and it started to melt away. Before long, the pier was scolding hot on the other side. The Auto-trooper jumped back in surprise, right into a peculiar ice wall behind him. The ice shattered, then reconstructed itself around the Auto-trooper, leaving only his head free. The blue Rainmaker, Ice Storm, stepped out from behind the ice.

All of the Seekers gathered around the Auto-trooper as it spluttered and coughed and yelled out in protest. Acid Storm broke off a chunk of the ice, revealing the Auto-troopers left hand. Acid Storm touched it lightly, and it began to smoke. The Auto-trooper screamed in pain.

“Enough, Acid Storm.” Starscream called him off, then stepped forward to look the Auto-trooper in the eye. “Consider that a taste of what will happen to you should you fail to cooperate to my satisfaction. Now, tell me everything you know about the attack on the hangar.”

The Auto-trooper shook its head in defiance. Starscream nodded to Acid Storm, who reached out and grabbed the Auto-trooper’s hand tightly. The acidic touch ate away the Auto-trooper’s hand effortlessly.

    “Start. Talking.” Acid Storm hissed.

    “NEVER!” The Auto-trooper screamed.

“They’re built not to divulge anything in interrogations, you scrap-heads.” The female Seeker finally burst out. “You won’t be getting anything out of him.”

Starscream turned and looked hatefully at her. “You didn’t think to mention this earlier, Slipstream?”

“I enjoyed watching your stupidity.” Slipstream replied with a shrug.

Starscream roared angrily, and pulled the section of wing on his right shoulder off of its mount. The wing flipped out into a sword, and Starscream used it to behead the Auto-trooper. The blade cauterised wounds, so no internals spilled out.

“There could be more Autobots coming, we should get out of here.” Thundercracker remarked to end the resulting awkward silence.

    “Too late for that, traitors.”

The Seekers all whirled around in unison to see the speaker. It was a red, bulky, muscular-looking robot with cannons mounted on its forearms. A red face-like symbol was proudly displayed on the robot’s chest. Its fearless blue eyes bore into the Seekers. Behind the robot, several more robots joined him. The red robot smiled gruffly.

    “It’s wrecking time!”

Note: Yes, I know that last line is cliche and cheesy. But it sounds cool in context to me.

Ooooh, nice! I'm liking these good old Seeker shenanigans. Starscream having to put up with fools like Skywarp and snarkers like Slipstream must certainly be a rather negative experience, but at least he has his buddy TC :D

The takedown of the Autobots are swift, I'm liking the different Storm guys (heat/ice/acid) and Slipstream made me laugh with her comment on watching everyone be stupid :lol

And now, more Autobots to fight! Time for wrecking! :D

Great update, Ironhide. Keep up the good work :D

Thanks guys! I'm still working out the second part, but I thought I might add a little wors-based scale guide. If I had photoshop, I would do a image one, but alas. Anyway:

    Megatron - 45 feet
    Soundwave - 36 feet
    Prowl - 18 feet
    Ultra Magnus - 30 feet
    Galvatron - 40 feet
    Scourge - 42 feet
    Cyclonus - 44 feet
    Starscream/Thundercracker/Skywarp - 40 feet
    Sunstorm/Acid Storm/Ice Storm - 42 feet
    Slipstream - 38 feet
    Ironhide - 26 feet

For some reason I love the idea of the Decepticons being MASSIVE in comparison to the Autobots. Let me know what you all think!

Holy Meta, the tallest Autobot, Magnus, is 30 feet tall.

The tallest Decepticon, Megs himself, is 45 feet tall.

My gosh. Magnus is brave as heck to fight something 15 feet taller and certainly bigger than him 0_0

Now for an actual update. I will leave the second half of The Seeker for a different time (which I hope will be interesting to you all). In the meantime, please read and enjoy this new installment featuring my favourite combiner team!

    The Combatants

In the five years since Megatronus’s first message to the Autobot High Command, the Great War had completely broken out, utterly destroying many Cybertronian colonies. Ordinary civilians were forced to pick sides between the Autobots and Megatronus’s Decepticons. The support for the latter was overwhelming as citizens from all over Cybertron pushed for equality and peace from the corrupt government.

The soldiers of Cybertron were also avid supporters of their brother’s rise, and most joined without hesitation. Among those soldiers who joined not out of a sense of loyalty, but of a lust for organisation and a fair empire, were the Combaticons.

There were five Combaticons, all with unique strengths and abilities. The leader, Onslaught, was a genius strategist and hand-to-hand fighter. His lieutenant Blast Off was proficient in the use of melee weapons and demolitions. Vortex, the team’s interrogator, was lightning fast and boasted an unusual ‘shockwave’ ability. Swindle was greedy and a cheat, but his no-how of all forms of munitions was invaluable. The final Combaticon, Brawl, was little more than a brute, but a near-indestructible brute at that.

The Combaticons were dispatched by Megatronus on missions that were deemed too dangerous for others. Most of the time, these missions were little more than training exercises for them. It was that record that led Megatronus to approach the Combaticons with a seemingly-impossible goal.

It was a dark and silent night in Kaon, and the Combaticons were taking a rare moment to relax in their personal quarters. They shared a complex with many of the other Decepticon soldiers, but their high-standing with Megatronus meant they had the entire top floor to themselves. A shadowy shape flew swiftly through the night sky above the complex and landed quietly on the roof. The shape transformed slowly into the imposing form of Megatronus. He opened the door to the stairwell, and descended into the building.

Megatronus left the stairs at the first floor he came to, and typed a passcode into the keypad beside a thick blast door. The keypad blinked green and hissed open quickly. Megatronus stepped inside, and was almost immediately greeted by a proud Blast Off. Blast Off was smaller than his leader, but not by the same large margin as most other Cybertronians. The Combaticon saluted respectfully.

“At ease, Blast Off.” Megatronus nodded, then continued further into the Combaticon quarters. “Where are your teammates?”

“They were just resting, sir. I saw you land so, being the most respectful of the Combaticons, I wanted to be the one to welcome you!” Blast Off boasted. “Shall I rouse them?”

    “Yes.” Megatronus said simply.

Blast Off left down the first corridor on the right and started knocking on doors. As he did so, Megatronus observed the main hall of the floor. It was rectangular, and took up the middle third of the floor’s area. On either side of it, corridors branched off into side rooms. In the exact centre of the main hall was a circular-based holographic computer display. At that moment, it was projecting a hologram of Cybertron, with Autobot-controlled sectors highlighted in red, and Decepticon-controlled ones in purple. Megatronus smiled at how small the former was.

“Lord Megatronus!” A voice called out from behind him.

Megatronus turned to see the Combaticons lined up perfectly, with all but Blast Off saluting. The speaker was in the centre of the line. He was the largest of them all in mass, but he was still just shorter than Vortex and Blast Off, who he was standing between.

“Onslaught.” Megatronus replied. The Combaticons dropped their hands and became relaxed. “I have a mission for you and your team that is indescribably significant to the Decepticon cause.” Onslaught nodded expectantly, so Megatronus continued. “You are no doubt all familiar with the Decagon, in the Autobot capital of Iacon. From it, the Autobots are able to co-ordinate against whatever move we make against Iacon or the surrounding region. Your task is simple: the Decagon must be eliminated. Permanently.”

“Of course, my Lord!” Onslaught accepted without hesitation. “We will have it done within the week.”

“Good. However, I must stress to you that this is not a goal to be underestimated. The Decagon was, after all, the centre of Cybertron’s entire defence network. It still retains its former security, and getting in at all will be a formidable undertaking in itself.”

“We will find a way, Megatronus, you need not worry!” Blast Off assured confidently.

“I certainly hope so, Blast Off. For if you do not, on the dwindling chance that some of you return, your heads will adorn my trophy room. Understood?” Megatronus’s tone was ice cold, and the Combaticons knew exactly how literal their leader was being: very.

“Yes, sir!” The Combaticons all said in unison.

Megatronus simply nodded, pleased, then left out of the blast door that he had entered from. The door shut loudly, and the team was left in silence for several seconds. Finally, Vortex spoke up.

“Personally, I’m quite looking forward to this!” He remarked cheerfully.

“You heard him, Vortex, you fool! This is not to be joked about!” Brawl slapped Vortex’s shoulder in anger. “The Decagon’s defences are impenetrable, we will need something even more so to stand a chance!”

“About that, I have had an idea for a certain joint effort that could significantly improve our already formidable skills. Perhaps now is a suitable time to try it out?” Swindle offered shiftily.

“Explain it, Swindle, and if there aren’t any better options I’ll consider it.” Onslaught ordered warily. Even he was not always sure of his comrade’s motives.

Swindle gestured for Onslaught to follow him to the hologram terminal, then he opened a file. The hologram switched from Cybertron to another image, one that was blocked from the other’s field of view by Onslaught’s back. The Combaticon leader scratched his chin, deep in thought, then nodded.

The next morning, the Combaticons were piling onto their drop-ship after a medical check by the Decepticon doctor Flatline. Blast Off climbed into the pilot’s seat of the ship, and gave a thumbs up to the others in the back. They returned the sign, and Blast Off powered up the engines. Soon after, the drop-ship lifted lightly off the ground, and flew off into the direction of the rising sun.

The trip was uneventful and surprising swift for the travellers. So much so, in fact, that by the time they touched the ground on the border of the nearest Decepticon territory to Iacon, all five were itching to join a battle. The Combaticons climbed off the drop-ship and they all transformed into their alternate forms. Blast Off and Vortex, the two fliers, jetted off in the direction of Iacon to scout a way for the others.

They returned half an hour later with news of a safe path along the outskirts of the Autobot city. On their preliminary mission, they were attacked by Autobot guards, but were able to take them out with little effort. So all five Combaticons set off along Blast Off and Vortex’s suggested route. They didn’t meet any real resistance until roughly 4 kilometres from Iacon’s outer wall.

It was there that the Autobots had set up a blockade. The guards that the fliers had eliminated must have sounded an alarm, for the Autobots were there in the hundreds. Six anti-aircraft turrets were just rolling into position when the Combaticons arrived. The Autobot infantry was lined up in four rows of 75, completely blocking the road ahead. They all raised their weapons, save for one, who instead raised a microphone-like device.

“Turn back now or be fired upon!” The Autobot shouted through the device. “You have five seconds to retreat!”

The Combaticons didn’t slow down whatsoever, instead they accelerated. The Autobots started firing, but their lasers bounced off of the Combaticons’ tough armour. The Decepticon team transformed together and withdrew their own weapons, then engaged their enemy.

Onslaught leaped into the air, wielding a massive broadsword. He swung it surprisingly quickly, severing seven Autobot heads from seven Autobot necks. He blocked the incoming lasers with the blade, then charged at the second line. Behind him, Vortex was using his back-mounted boosters to grab Autobots and lift them high into the air. Their fellows would either shoot Vortex’s hostages by mistake, or he would drop them down onto the lines of soldiers. Brawl had changed back into tank mode and was effortlessly squishing Autobots beneath his mighty treads. Swindle was using dual pistols to pick off fleeing Autobots before they could call reinforcements. Blast Off had bypassed the infantry altogether, and was heading straight for the anti-aircraft guns. One targeted him and fired, but the bolt of energy missed and vaporised a cluster of Autobots running from Brawl instead.

Within two minutes, the Combaticons had thinned down the blockade to less than 10 soldiers and only one turret. Onslaught grabbed an Autobot and threw it into the turret’s thick barrel, and the entire gun exploded violently. Vortex dropped down from the sky and crushed three Autobots upon landing. Brawl finished the rest off with a single blast from his tank turret.

As if nothing had happened, the Combaticons returned to their vehicle forms and continued on their way to Iacon. They ploughed through the main gates as if they were made of paper, and transformed to their robot modes to meet the Autobot resistance. The Decagon rose up in the distance, but the open field before it had to be crossed first. Unfortunately, the Autobots were arriving in the tens of hundreds, and would soon overwhelm the Combaticons. Onslaught punched a hole through an Autobot scout’s chest, then looked to his teammates. He nodded at them, and they fought their way to each other.

When all five were back-to-back, fighting waves of Autobots on every side, Onslaught suddenly leaped into the air above the other four, and he began to transform. But not into vehicle mode. His body manipulated itself until it shifted into an oddly-shaped object. Almost like a torso. Before Onslaught could fall to the ground, he fell onto Brawl and Swindle, who had similarly transformed into legs. Blast Off and Vortex jumped up and attached themselves to Onslaught as arms. A head rose up from Onslaught’s chest, and its eyes switched on.

The Autobots fired on the combination in terror, but nothing could harm it. The being lifted its arms and its red eyes glowed.

“KNEEL BEFORE BRUTICUS!” The combiner roared.

The Autobots fled in horror, but Bruticus shot them down like flies, and stepped on them like ants. Compared to him, they were nothing. The crushed Autobot corpses littered the field between the gates and Iacon itself, and glowing blue Energon lit up the darkening environment. Bruticus engaged thrusters in his heels, and he flew straight towards the Decagon. Several rounds from anti-aircraft cannons hit him, but it didn’t deter the massive gestalt whatsoever.

Bruticus landed just outside the Decagon, taking several Iacon skyscrapers down with him. They collapsed as his powerful arms ripped out their supports, sending Autobot citizens falling to the ground. Bruticus shrugged off more rounds from the Decagon’s cannons, and readied his own cannons that protruded from his back. He aimed them at the Decagon’s base and fired with a mighty roar.

Two continuous beams of pure red-hot energy blasted into the Decagon, and its first floors exploded spontaneously in great balls of blazing blue flames. The heat burned the Autobots, but Bruticus was unfazed as he walked into the inferno and pushed the rest of the structure down. It crashed into the ground, sending ash, smoke and debris flying everywhere. Autobot soldiers cried out in terror from all over the area as Bruticus laughed maniacally. The fire licked up against his legs, starting to burn Swindle and Brawl, but Bruticus as a whole didn’t care. The mission was done, quickly and cleanly, just like Megatronus had wanted.

“LONG! LIVE! THE DECEPTICONS!” Bruticus shouted. His voice shook all of Iacon, sending every Autobot into panic mode.

The smoke had become so thick that any onlookers were unable to make out exactly what it was that had destroyed the Decagon. They could see a massive silhouette, thrashing around in the bright blue lights of the flames. Suddenly, the creature stopped, and every bystander was paralysed in fear as it turned to face them. The creature did not move towards them, instead it simply stood there, ignoring the heat of the flames. The inferno cast a soft glow onto its body, but the thick grey smoke still made it hard to distinguish exactly what it was.

After barely ten minutes spent within the walls of Iacon, Bruticus engaged his thrusters once more and flew away from the smouldering wreck of the Decagon, his mission complete. Not for the first time, and certainly not for the last, the Decepticons had cruelly, and undoubtedly, won.
