Since SPLIT LIP decided to post her own designs and stories for her own fan continuity, I decided I'd finally get around to writing mine. *ahem* This first part is kinda about how the token human gets roped into working with the Autobots.

    --------
It was a calm, balmy night in Progress City. The Florida sun had set in the West only a few hours ago, and the Summer heat had given way to a cool sea breeze. It was a perfect night, Cole thought, for taking his custom street racer – something he’d been working on ever since he managed to piece together enough of his own money to buy an old garage – for a test drive out on the causeways surrounding the biggest and most futuristic city in Florida. As he got into the gold-and-cyan two-seater, he opened the door to the garage and went out into the city streets. He made his way towards the causeway that crossed the various islets in Progress City’s inlet.

Cole smiled to himself as he saw that, just as he had hoped, there wasn’t any traffic out on the causeway at this hour.

“Not a soul around. Just miles and miles of blacktop for me to take a nice joyride on.” he thought, as he pressed his foot on the gas pedal. Seems all those parts he cleaned up and fixed to make this thing work were perfect; it handled the corners of the road like a dream. After a good ten minutes or so of smooth driving, Cole saw a pair of headlights coming down the causeway from the mainland.

“The hell? Who’d be out on the causeway at this time of night?! Well, other than – WHOA!” Cole slammed on the brakes and steered out of the way as the car – at least, it LOOKED like a car – drove past him in a flash! “It… It didn’t have a driver.” Cole felt a cold sweat stream down his face as the “car,” which looked too futuristic even for the advanced tech usually seen in Progress City, made a swift U-turn and drove by him.

Cole brushed his auburn hair out of his eyes in disbelief – this car didn’t look like anything he’d ever seen –“ it looked like something out of a bad sci-fi movie,” he thought as the “car” revved up its engine. Was it challenging him to a race?!

“Do you think I’m crazy?!” Cole yelled at the strange vehicle. “Maybe I am crazy if I’m yelling at some tech geek’s idea of an RC car.” Cole motored off towards the mainland, hoping that the phantom car wouldn’t follow him. Unfortunately, it was still tailing his car, and Cole began losing his cool. He swore under his breath repeatedly as the vehicle kept tailing his car, even as he accelerated well beyond the speed limit! In a panic, Cole slammed on the brakes, which proceeded to lock up and he went careening off the road into one of the islets the causeway was built on. In a stroke of luck, he managed to unbuckle himself and throw open the door before his car – his pride and joy – careened right into a mangrove tree!

“Dammit, dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!” Cole gritted his teeth as he dusted some sand off of himself and tried to ignore the stinging pain across the many scrapes on his body. He then saw the other car’s headlights “staring” right at him.

“You think this is funny?! You could have killed someone, you idiot!” Cole was fuming with anger as the “car” drove over to the flaming wreckage of his customized racer and emitted a beam of light. “Oh, so you’re taking pictures to laugh at later?!” Cole ran over to the trunk of his car, and grabbed a socket wrench. He lifted it over his head and charged at the car… And ran straight into a metallic leg.

“Son of a-“ Cole clutched his forehead as he looked up and saw a fifteen-foot-tall robot standing above him – he was rendered silent in shock as the mechanical giant leaned down and spoke to him from an oddly human face.

“Wait… You WEREN’T a Decepticon?! Slaggit, Optimus is gonna kill me when he finds out I ran a human off the road!” The yellow creature’s glowing blue eyes widened as it realized it had just made a really, REALLY big mistake.

“You… You’re not even… Human…” Cole’s eyes were just as wide as the robot’s, and he brandished his wrench as it extended a metallic finger towards him. “Stay back or I’ll… I’ll dent your doors! Got it?!”

“Geez, relax, would ya?!” The yellow-and-blue robot smiled. “I’m not gonna hurt a human! … At least, not on purpose.” It scratched the back of its head, an oddly human gesture for a giant robot. “Name’s Hot Shot. I’m an Autobot, and… Uh… I don’t exist. You aren’t gonna tell anyone about me, or… Uh… Slaggit, how did Override put it?!”

“Hot Shot!” A blue-and-white police cruiser glided down from the road and transformed into an fourteen-foot-tall robot – this one had strangely feminine proportions compared to the larger robot. “You idiot, you blew our cover!”

“Hey, you were out riding around without a holomatter avatar, Override!” Hot Shot crossed his arms, as Cole tried to slowly walk away from the arguing robots.

“That’s only because I bothered to wait around for First Aid to scan an alt-mode for me! You shouldn’t have been so impatient!” Override placed one hand on her hips and pointed her other hand at Hot Shot’s face. “Not to mention you could have killed this organic!”

“Hey, I thought he was a Decepticon!” Hot Shot shrugged. “And I decided to scan his car since it was fragging awesome.”

Override sighed and placed her servo on her face. “Well, at least you have a disguise. Of course, you know this means you’re going to have to replace his car, right?”

“WHAT?!” Hot Shot and Cole both shouted at once.

“Well, considering it was a one of a kind custom, and it got trashed… And it would just be courteous to do so after nearly killing him…” Override smirked. “It just would be the Autobot thing to do.”

“Fine.” Hot Shot shrugged and extended his hand to Cole. “Shake.”

“Yeah, I’m already doing that because you almost turned me into – Oh, I get it.” Cole extended his hand and grabbed Hot Shot by his fingertips, and the two shook. “I still don’t trust either of you. And I can’t tell anyone you guys exist?”

“Right.” Override nodded. “It’s to keep the rest of your species as safe from Decepticons as possible.”

“Well, what the heck’s a Decepticon?” Cole tilted his head and furrowed his brow. “Are they like you guys?”

“Slag no!” Hot Shot crossed his arms and frowns. “We’re Autobots! We’re the good guys!”

“Let me explain, Hot Shot.” Override knelt down to get a closer look at Cole. “You know how you humans have wars? Like the one you refer to as ‘World War II’ had the Allies and the Axis?”

    “Yeah?” Cole nodded.

“We Autobots are the Allied Forces – and the Decepticons are the Axis.” Override continued. “Is that a good enough explanation?”

“Yeah.” Cole nodded. “So who’s the FDR of this outfit?”

“Well…” Override tapped her fingers together anxiously. “He’s not on this planet.”

“He’s dead?” Cole said, puzzled by her statement.

“No. He thinks WE’RE dead.” Hot Shot said in a huff. “Wheeljack and First Aid haven’t been able to re-establish communications with New Iacon ever since we re-activated about three solar cycles ago.” Hot Shot than transformed into car mode – it was a perfect replica of Cole’s racer in its former glory. “Well, partner, I guess it’s you and me.” He opened the driver’s door to Cole, who cautiously stepped in. “You probably know traffic rules on this planet better than I do, anyway.”

“What, you don’t want to run anyone else off the road?” Cole smirked.

“No, it’s that I don’t want Overide on my case all the time.” Hot Shot intoned through the radio.

“I heard that!” Override had already transformed into her police cruiser mode. “We’ll have to report back to Optimus. Spark knows how he’ll react to this human…” Override drove off after creating a holomatter avatar of a policewoman, and Hot Shot and Cole followed after her.

As a bonus, here are some tech specs for the two Autobots introduced in this little drabble.

    Override

    Gender: Femme
    Allegiance: Autobot
    Alt-mode: Police Pursuit vehicle
    Function: Security Officer

Motto: "Do you have any idea how fast you were going?!"
Bio: "Man, Override's waaaaaaay too uptight. Seriously, all she ever seems to do is get on my case for speeding. That said, she graduated at the top of her class at the Autobot Academy, and is one of the best snipers I've seen. But seriously, she never stops nagging me about 'responsibility' and 'rules of the road.' I mean, she's not much older than I am! Why does she have to act so stuck-up, huh?!" - Hot Shot

Abilities: "Overrider's pretty slaggin' fast in vehicle mode, and has jump jets she can access in robot mode for limited flight, which is pretty slaggin' awesome. She's also a crack shot with her sniper rifle."

Weaknesses: "She's not very strong, though. She's shorter even than me!"

    Hot Shot
    Gender: Mech
    Allegiance: Autobot
    Alt-mode: Race car
    Function: Scout

    Motto: “Well, let's go!”

Bio: "Hot Shot is the most irresponsible mech I've ever seen in my life! He has absolutely no regard for the rules of the road - oh, sure, he obeys traffic signs and lights, but I've busted him for illegal street racing fifteen times back on Cybertron! All those fumes from racing must have gone to his head - he thinks he's the fastest thing on wheels." - Override

Abilities: "That said, he actually is pretty fast - actually, he's the fastest Autobot on the team. He also can transform his engine into a pair of arm-mounted flamethrowers."

Weaknesses: "Do I really have to spell it out for you?!"

This is a pretty good introduction to what I hope will be a great story. I didn’t notice any grammatical foul ups, and your descriptive voice works quite well.

I like how there wasn’t a single Decepticon involved in the intro, which is a change from the usual intros, which go: human stumbles into Decepticon, Autobot rescues human from Decepticon, human is introduced to the Autobot cast. Here, you have the reckless hotshot make a mistake, have the responsible Autobot call them out on it, and provide a reason for the reckless Bumblebee/Hotrod character to partner with the human: to replace the car that Cliffjumper wrecked; very original, especially for this franchise. Great job.

    Characters:

Speaking of the characters, I like how you used the introduction scene to firmly establish Cliffjumper as the reckless, irresponsible speedster, and actually show why that is a bad thing. I also like that you had him acknowledge that he made the mistake in question, which is something Miko and Animated Bumblebee could learn from. One final note on him, I like how you made him orange, which isn’t usually a color you see in the main Autobot cast. I know that’s a minor detail, but it’s one that stood out.

Windrazor was great as well, especially given that she’s got a lot of common sense and has no patience for Cliffjumper’s nonsense. She makes a good, responsible foil and straight man to Cliffjumper’s antics.

I don’t have a whole lot to say about Cole, other than that he’s a gearhead and that he reacts believably to someone nearly getting him killed, i.e. get pissed. I do like that he was smart enough to ask questions and figure out the big picture without needing to have it spoon fed to him.

I like how you namedropped the rest of the Autobot cast and hinted at their roles. I take it that Optimus isn’t the leader of all the Autobots, similar to Animated. In that case, I have to wonder who the Autobot leader is. Magnus, perhaps? Sentinel?

The leader's Ultra Magnus. The big inspirations for this series are Transformers Animated and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, so... Expect craziness.

I'll try and have the next part up by tonight :)

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. I have only hearsay about Tenga Toppen Gurren Lagann, but what I've heard leads to definte craziness.

Now that you mentioned Animated, I noticed a resemblence between Windrazor and Prowl, and Cliffjumper and Bumblebee.

Thanks, guys! Here's the next part.

    --------

As the two Autobots and their human cohort drove along to their base, Cole was still coping with the fact he was driving an alien life form.
“So, your secret base is where, exactly? The northern part of Merritt Island is still mostly government facilities. I mean, they may not have any launches any more, but the Kennedy Space Center’s still kept around as a museum.” Cole rolled down Hot Shot’s window and took a look outside. He was shocked to see that the Autobots were heading towards the open waters of Mosquito Lagoon! He frantically rolled the window back up and took a deep breath as Hot Shot and Override started to drive into the ocean, when suddenly, a portal opened in front of them – when Cole opened his eyes, Hot Shot’s door was open, and the trio were in what appeared to be… “A building?!” Cole got out and looked out the windows of the structure – it was a spaceship that had crashed underwater.

“Hey, Cole!” Hot Shot transformed to robot mode and gestured at Cole to follow. “Don’t just stand around gawking, Rider-”

“Don’t call me that!” Override snapped at the bigger Autobot, because she wasn’t very fond of Hot Shot’s nickname for her. “Let’s just get to the bridge. Good thing First Aid managed to get the bridge working.”

“It’s a good thing indeed!” A crimson-and-white mech stood at the controls, a visor flipped up onto his forehead. He had the sidepanels of his vehicle mode – a high-speed ambulance, by the looks of it – hanging off his sides, giving him the look of a surgeon in a labcoat. “Wheeljack and I were working for megacycles just trying to get it to open up a portal only three hics from the shore!”

“Yeah, and the slaggin’ thing could conk out any second! I tried ta tell Optimus that we should set up shop somewhere where a single crack in th’ windows won’t lead to some sorta liquid rustin’ our afts!” A green and white robot with a beard-like faceplate smashed an oversized – even by Cybertronian standards – wrench against the ground bridge. “Either that, or we get this ship operational and risk bein’ spotted by organ – AUGH!” Wheeljack recoiled at the site of Cole. “GET THAT THING OFFA THE SHIP BEFORE IT SPEWS ACID ALL OVER US!”

“Relax, Wheeljack. He’s harmless… Well, mostly harmless.” First Aid said after scanning Cole with his visor.

“Hey, do you mind warning me before a sudden scan like that?” Cole scowled as he turned away from the window. “Hot Shot, Override – these guys friends of yours?”

“I personally wouldn’t consider Wheeljack a friend as much as I consider him a crewmate.” Override rolled her optics.

“Well, you can just bite my rusty metal –“

“Wheeljack!” First Aid cut off Wheeljack’s retort. “Ahem. My name is First Aid. I’m the medical officer on this ship, the Axalon. And this over here is Wheeljack, our engineer.”

“Why do you sound like you’re British? And why does Wheeljack sound like he’s from New York?”

“What th’ slag is he talkin’ about?” Wheeljack scratched his head.

“Well, I’m from the planet Paradron, and he hails from the colony of Junkion.” First Aid continued. “It seems the Junk and Paradronian accents correlate to certain accents of your 'English' language! How fascinating!”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, can we just report back ta Prime so’s we can ground bridge this meatbag offa our ship?” Wheeljack eyed Cole cautiously regardless of First Aid’s reassurance. “I don’t exactly want this thing ta lay eggs in my engine, ya know what I’m sayin’?”

“Wheeljack,” First Aid chuckled, “That’s a male of the species. They don’t produce eggs.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Wheeljack transformed into his alternate mode, a tow truck, and motored over to the bridge. Hot Shot and Override transformed and followed behind him, leaving First Aid and Cole to chat.

“Please excuse Wheeljack,” First Aid stated after transforming into vehicle mode and offering Cole a ride. “Many of our kind have a phobia of organics.”

“Sure, whatever, can we just get this over with so I can get back to dry land and rest?” Cole got into First Aid’s passenger side, and the Medibot motored off towards the bridge.

“Optimus! Hot Shot and Override –“ First Aid let Cole out and transformed into robot mode.

“I know, First Aid.” A tall red-and-blue robot stood before the others, flanked by an even bigger gunmetal robot. “Welcome to the Axalon, human. My name is Optimus Prime. I’m what you’d call the captain of this vessel.”

“And I’m Ironclad.” The bigger robot intoned with a deep baritone. Cole noticed Ironclad’s left leg appeared to be a makeshift replacement leg he had to make from emergency parts, causing him to walk with a limp. “I always hoped I’d land on an organic planet," he added with a smile. "There's nothing more beautiful than seeing the sun rise over a sea full of life."

“Yeah, yer hope’s my worst nightmare, ol’ buddy.” Wheeljack leaned against his giant wrench like a cane – he and Ironclad were obviously the oldest robots on the ship, while First Aid and Optimus seemed to be only slightly (well, slightly by Cybertronian standards) older than Override and Hot Shot.

“So, why are you here?” Cole asked. “Are there Decepticons?”

“He already knows about Decepticons?” Ironclad asked Wheeljack, who merely scratched his head.

“Well, we crashed here around fifty Earth years ago when we found this solar system. It’s rich with Energon, our fuel source.” Optimus had First Aid put up a display showing an Energon crystal. “Unfortunately, we were being trailed by a ship helmed by the Decepticon leader, Megatron.”

“It was a pretty awesome fight! Optimus kicked his thrusters!” Hot Shot pumped his fist in the air, and both Optimus and Override shot him a look.

“But not before Megatron did some serious damage to our ship. We crashed here, and we have no idea where Megatron is currently.” Optimus continued.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure that piece o’ slag burnt up on re-entry. There’s no way he could survive without a ship, right?” If Wheeljack had a mouth, he’d be grinning.

“Well, hopefully. But we were about to leave behind the Axalon until the time's right for us to reveal ourselves to your kind.” Optimus looked away. “Since it’s possible humans might mistake us for a threat.”

“Well, if you guys need a new home base, I can enter the coordinates to my garage. If one of you is staying there,” Cole said as he pointed to Hot Shot, “I think all of you should stay there. There’s fuel, spare parts, and you can take whatever else you need with you through the ground bridge.” Cole booted up the internet on his phone, and loaded the address. “First Aid, you think you can get the ground bridge to work? I’d really like to not worry about running out of fresh air.”

“I certainly can!” The medic smiled, transformed into his ambulance mode and motored off. “Allons-y!”

“Autobots,” Optimus stated, “Transform and roll out!” Optimus began changing shape into a monster truck, and had Wheeljack and Ironclad move the central computer console into his truck bed. The other Autobots soon followed suit; Windrazor morphed into a police cruiser, Hot Shot transformed into Cole’s street racer, Wheeljack into an old muscle car, and Ironclad into an armored van. After Optimus opened his driver’s side door, Cole climbed in and the Autobots went towards the “ground bridge…”

    --------

And here are the tech specs for the remaining four Autobots.

    Optimus Prime
    Gender: Mech
    Allegiance: Autobot
    Alt-mode: Monster truck
    Function: Energon Surveying Vessel Captain

Motto: “While I function, Earth is under my protection.”

Bio: "Optimus Prime has some of the greatest potential in the Autobot ranks I've seen in my long life. After graduating from the Elite Guard Academy, Optimus was placed in charge of an Energon surveying vessel, the Axalon, to scour the galaxy for more Energon. Optimus is an idealistic and naive leader, yet is surprisingly responsible and mature. I predict that he might just succeed his mentor, Sentinel Prime, as leader of the Elite Guard - and maybe, just maybe, become the next Magnus. I'm extremely proud to have him as my commanding officer." - Ironclad

Abilities: "Optimus utilizes a Solitarium Ion-Axe as his primary tool, but has been known to use it as a weapon if need be. In his monster truck alternate mode, he can traverse rough terrain at relatively high speeds."

Weaknesses: "Optimus is a bit too naive compared to other Primes I've worked with. He needs a little more experience, is all."

    First Aid
    Gender: Mech
    Allegiance: Autobot
    Alt-mode: High-speed ambulance
    Function: Medic

    Motto: “All life is precious.”

Bio: "First Aid has been my closest friend ever since Basic Training. We went our separate ways when he went to the Cybertronian Medical Academy and I went to the Elite Guard. Funnily enough, he was assigned as the medic on the Axalon! Even though our team often has to fight Decepticons, First Aid would much rather take the duty of evacuating humans from the battle zone. Regardless, if he's forced to fight, he can and will use his medical knowledge to stun his foes. Also, if you get him started about the subject of medicine, he'll prattle on for megacycles." - Optimus Prime

Abilities: "First Aid is a skilled medibot - due to his almost-obsessive research of organic medicine through the human 'internet', he's even able to successfully repair - er, heal humans through the use of the equipment in his vehicle mode. If he's forced into a fight, he'll use arm-mounted laser to blast enemies."

Weaknesses: "As I've stated previously, First Aid hates fighting. I hope he realizes how dangerous it is for him to not aid in combat maneuvers."

    Ironclad
    Gender: Mech
    Allegiance: Autobot
    Alt-mode: Armored van
    Function: Warrior

Motto: “Wisdom is forged through experience.”

Bio:"Ironclad and I go way back. Back durin' the Great War, me and the big lug were members of the Wreckers. Thing is, while I still love bustin' Decepti-chops, Ironclad's kinda zenned out. Ya know, he's one of them peaceniks or somethin', but not to the extent of that numb-noded medic. Back durin' the war, he lost a leg, so I built him a new one out of whatever spare parts I found on the battlefield." - Wheeljack

Abilities: "Ironclad's the biggest 'Bot I've seen - he's even bigger than Ultra Magnus himself, and he's got thicker armor, too. He still has rivet guns in his arms from his days as a construction 'Bot, but I tweaked 'em so he can use 'em as weapons! Bam!"

Weaknesses: "The guy's really slow - in 'bot mode, he's got a limp 'cuz of his bum leg, and in his vehicle mode... Well, he ain't built for speed."

    Wheeljack

    Gender: Mech
    Allegiance: Autobot
    Alt-mode: Tow truck
    Function: Engineer

    Motto: "For science!"

Bio: "Ever since I've been assigned to the Axalon, I've been on pretty bad terms with Wheeljack. This surly, boisterous old mech seemingly has taken a few too many dents to the cranial casing from the explosions I regularly hear emanating from his workshop! It seems all he ever does is guzzle oil by the barrel and blow things up - he spends almost as much time in the medical bay as Hot Shot!" - First Aid

Abilities: "Wheeljack is a genius inventor - supposedly. Most of what he builds just explodes!"

Weaknesses: "Wheeljack consumes far more oil than he actually needs, considering we all scanned hybrid vehicles on Ironclad's request. This causes him to have even worse judgment than the impulsive Hot Shot."

I really like the idea of Ironclad as a wounded war vet with a artifical leg made by Wheeljack.

Again, a pretty good chapter. You had the unavoidable introduction to the cast scene, but you managed to spice it up by introducing another set of foils: the rude, cantankerous Wheeljack and the even-tempered, polite Red Alert. Ironclad's makeshift leg is a good little detail that both highlights the war and the Autobots' situation in terms of resources. Optimus seems to play the straight man to the other Autobots, but that's nothing new.

I also like how you had Cole offer the use of his garage as a base; his willingness to help out is definitely admirable.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm aiming for the first Decepticon attack to happen, featuring everyone's favorite Seeker leader... But it's not Starscream as you know him.

    Unless you watched Armada

Great story so far Spin-out. I'm especially looking forward to how your autobot crew interacts. You have the impulsive Cliffjumper vs. rule follower Windrazor, and the (I steal "cantankorous from Honourbound because it fits perfectly) Wheeljack vs. both the logical reserved Red Alert and the shell shocked veteran Ironclad. I still want to see more of Optimus, but that can wait. Your crew seem ragtag and crazy but sometimes, crazy works.

The sun was rising over Progress City – Cole had managed to get in a few hours of sleep in between all the noise the Autobots made taking all of the hardware they needed – a Ground Bridge transmitter, a CR tank, and a Teletraan unit – and unloading it in his garage. “Couldn’t they try to be quieter?!” Cole covered his head with his pillow, since Wheeljack hadn’t yet finished putting the Ground Bridge back together.

“Communications are back-up!” First Aid cheerily stated. “Well, to an extent.” He frowned as he found that communications still weren’t able to leave the Solar System. “Well, if any other Energon patrols come along, we could easily radio them… Once they make it past the belt of icy dwarf planets and comets that surround this star system.”

Cole, still in his sweatpants after trying to sleep, stepped out of his room. “Wait, you guys navigated past the Kuiper belt and the Oort cloud?!”

Ironclad chuckled. “Actually, Cole, the comet and asteroid belts in your solar system aren’t very densely packed at all. There’s usually a good amount of hics in between those space rocks.”

“And you better believe what the big guy says, meatbag – Back when he and I were in the Wreckers, I had to drive us through an asteroid belt where the space rocks were almost as densely packed as the buildings back in Old Iacon.” Wheeljack paused as he took a swig of oil from the barrel he kept on his belt like a hip flask. “We almost got cratered!”

“If it wasn’t for Wheeljack’s flying, he and I would be pieces of debris floating through the cosmos.” Ironclad said with a morose tone. “We’re two of very few Wreckers who weren’t lost on a mission.”

“What do you mean, ‘weren’t?” We’re lost on this dirt clod right now!” Wheeljack used his magna-wrench to secure some of Ironclad’s rivets in place after the old soldier fired them into the wall. “Hopefully we can get off here sooner than –“

“No can do, Wheeljack.” Optimus sighed as he eyed the Energon scanner on the Teletraan unit with a mix of trepidation and excitement. “Or did you forget that this planet has almost as much Energon as Cybertron did?”

“Yeah, but we ain’t miners, Prime!” Wheeljack crossed his arms. “We don’t have enough equipment to dig it all up –“

“I never said we’d have to dig it up.” Optimus smiled, and continued. “It seems humans, led by the ReedTech faction –“

“Wait, ReedTech? The company that discovered the clean alternate fuel they call Furmanite? The same kinda fuel that powers Progress City?!” Cole looked shocked, as if he had finally figured something out.

“Well, yes. Your Furmanite is our Energon, Cole.” First Aid grinned. “And it seems you humans are capable of producing incredible amounts of it.”

“It’s not just that. The CEO – or 'Prime' of ReedTech – is my father, Walter Reed.” Cole stated, and showed them a picture of his father on his cell phone – A skinny man with graying hair and a fine mustache stood next to a lean teenage boy with messy brown hair and a young girl with whitish-blonde hair. The young man was obviously Cole at around the age of thirteen, and the other two were his father, Walter Reed, and his younger sister, Lyra. “I’m… Not on the best terms with him. Mainly because he isn’t my real father.”

“I don’t get it.” Hot Shot shrugged. “So this guy wasn’t your actual protoform batch initiator. Big whoop.”

Cole glared silently at Hot Shot.

    “What?” Hot Shot said defensively.

“Way to be sensitive, Hot Shot.” Override elbowed Hot Shot in his side. “You don’t even know how human families work, Hot–“

First Aid looked panicked. “I’m picking up strange signals in the sky – I think the Decepticons may be after the Energon!”

“Autobots!” Optimus raised his Ion Axe. “Transform and roll out!” The six Autobots motored out, leaving Cole at the garage.

A fighter jet soared above Progress City, accompanied by a helicopter. “I don’t understand, Lord Shockwave. Why should Cyclonus and I attack these primitive creatures?! They don’t have any real way to defend themselves! Master Cruellock would –“

“Master Cruellock is gone, Starscream. This is what Megatron would want if he was alive.” A voice crackled over Starscream's commlink. “Would you want to have disappointed Megatron, Starscream?”

“No!” Starscream exclaimed, anger apparent in his voice. “You know it would be a dishonor to go against his wishes… Even if he is offline.”

The aassault chopper cackled madly. “Psssht, if Lugnut was with us, there's no way you'd have the servos to say Megs is offline!”

“Cyclonus, shut up!” Starscream sped up and dashed towards a power plant on a barrier island. “And stay out of my way – It would also be dishonorable to put too many inferior organics in danger.”

“Yeah, sure, dishonorable.” Cyclonus soared after him, and the two of them landed right across from the power plant. “Don't worry - I'll try and keep quiet, but if any of these fleshbags shoots me, BANG! BANG! BANGBANGBANG!”

Starscream transformed into his robot mode – a wiry-looking robot armed with swords formed from his jet-mode wings, and with a mouth full of razor-sharp, sharklike teeth - and proceeded to shoot Cyclonus a look. “I want to minimize potential casualties… Not that I care about organics or anything. It's simply to avoid making too much trouble.”

Cyclonus then transformed into his robot mode - a slightly bulkier robot with various guns all over his body. “Yeah, sure. Or did ya forget why ol' One-Optic sent me to watch ya, 'Screamer?”

“Yes, I know.” Starscream frowned. “Because he doesn’t trust me enough to think I wouldn’t follow through on this errand because of my honor.”

“There ya go, spoutin' off about honor again!” Cyclonus smirked. “Hell, if Megatron hadn't sent Cruellock packing, you'd be just like the Autobots - “

“SHUT UP!” Starscream whipped around and glared at Cyclonus. “I’ll prove it to Shockwave that I’m worthy of being named his successor as Air Commander!”

“Roger, roger!” Cyclonus chuckled as he stowed away his guns. "Let's get some Energon! Gyahahahaa!”

“...” Starscream used his jets to surge forth towards the power plant, attempting to frighten as many humans away from the plant as possible. “PREPARE FOR EXTERMINATION, NAKED APES!” Starscream grinned widely, revealing his terrifyingly sharp teeth as he removed his wings and transformed them into twin Proton Sabers.

"We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!" Cyclonus deployed his gatling guns and began firing wildly, cackling like a madman. "Actually, scratch the peace part! This Energon's OURS!"

“Everyone! Evacuate the plant! I don’t care if Progress City is gonna lose all power, but there're giant metal monsters attacking!” The foreman led his employees out in a frantic rush.

“Excellent!” Starscream cackled to himself. “Looks like we’ll have all of the Energon we'll need, and they didn’t even fight for it. Cowards.”

“The only coward I see is you, Decepticon!” THWACK! Optimus’ ion axe connected with Starscream’s head, knocking off his helmet.

“My… My helmet!” Starscream used the boosters in his feet to surge towards Optimus, but soon felt an invisible force holding him in place! “What kind of trickery IS this?!”

“It’s called magnetism. I could explain how dey work, but I’m usin’ ‘em to kick yer sorry tailfin!” Wheeljack used his magnawrench to direct a wave of magnetic energy at Starscream, sending the seeker hurtling back into the building!

Hot Shot picked up Starscream’s helmet and removed Optimus’ axe from it, tossing the weapon back to his leader. “Hey, look! It fits!” Hot Shot then sent out a blast of fire from his arm-mounted welding torches, causing the Decepticon to swiftly dodge to the right.

“You dishonorable, weak AUTOBOTS!” Starscream flew towards Hot Shot and skewered the smaller Autobot on one of his swords! “Now… GIVE ME MY HELMET BACK!”

“HOT SHOT!” Override took aim at Starscream with her rifle and provided cover fire as Hot Shot limped away, a nasty stab wound in his shoulder. “GET AWAY FROM HIM!”

“First Aid! Take care of Hot Shot!” Optimus transformed into vehicle mode and charged towards Starscream, but he was forced to dodge Cyclonus' cover fire.

"Peek-a-boo, I SEE YOU~" Cyclonus was back in helicopter mode and providing cover fire for Starscream from above.

“Hey, Doc-bot…” Hot Shot grinned, despite the fact that he was bleeding Energon from his shoulder joint. “I’m just glad he has terrible aim when he’s ticked off, you know?”

“Please hold still! I’m trying to patch you up before he can come back for another strike!” First Aid deployed numerous medical tools from his back-mounted repair kit. He quickly welded the wound on Hot Shot’s shoulder closed, and gave his Spark a bit of extra energy with his shock paddles. “There. Now you need to get out of the combat zone. Understood?”

“Leave?!” Hot Shot got back up and adjusted his arms. “If anything, you should do more than just sit around patching ‘Bots up!” Hot Shot then transformed into vehicle mode and raced towards Starscream, deploying his welding torches as makeshift turbo boosters. “C’mon, Red! You could do somethin’ with those shock paddles!”

First Aid thought for a moment, and then adjusted the dials on his shock paddles to a higher voltage. “If I have to fight, it’s only to prevent any unnecessary loss of life…” He then ran towards Starscream, and slugged him with an electric punch!

Starscream growled and grabbed First Aid by his throat. “A sneak attack?! You Autobots really don’t have any sense of honor, do you?!” Starscream then tossed First Aid back towards Wheeljack, who used his magna-wrench to catch the medibot in midair and guide him down safely. “Even as you Autobots outnumber me, I refuse to flee! I’ll die here for the Decepticon cause if I must! I will –“

“Starscream. I order you and Cyclonus to retreat. Soundwave has informed me of your miserable failure.” A monotonous voice spoke over Starscream’s commlink. “You will be punished for your weakness when you return to the base.”

“No! Lord Shockwave!” Starscream flew out of the reach of the Autobots so their attacks couldn’t interrupt his argument. “I can defeat them and get the Energon if you just give me the chance –“

“No.” Shockwave tapped his fingers on his computer terminal. “You will obey your leader’s commands. Understood?”

Starscream growled and transformed into jet mode, flying off without a word. Cyclonus followed behind him, cackling because he had managed to stay out of the Autobot's range.

“Well… That was anti-climactic.” Hot Shot placed his new trophy on his head. “Told ya it fits.”

Override, of course, was furious. “You idiot! Was that helmet worth almost being offlined?!” Override paced back and forth in a huff. “Are you even paying attention to me?!” She then glared at the taller Autobot – he was still adjusting his helmet. “IDIOT!” She pummeled the helmet with a karate chop, causing it to ring around Hot Shot’s head like an oversized gong.

“Hey!” Hot Shot placed his servos on the helmet to stop the ringing, and then posed heroically. “I make this look good!”

Optimus slapped his servo to his face. “Could you two stop arguing? We have to retreat before we're noticed. Autobots, transform and roll out!"

Override nodded, but not before she backflipped behind Hot Shot and yanked the oversized helmet off of his head, lobbing it towards Optimus. She then transformed into her vehicle mode and motored off in a huff.

"What'd I do?" Hot Shot then transformed and motored off after her, and he was followed by Wheeljack and First Aid.

"Prime? You coming?" Ironclad had already transformed into vehicle mode, but he was waiting for his commander.

"In a minute." Prime threw the helmet up in the air and transformed, and it landed neatly in his truck bed. "Roll out, Ironclad!" Optimus then sped off after the rest of his crew, with his mentor close behind.

I miss him too. Unlike Bumblebee he was a real charecter with real personality.

So what does the helmet Starscream have look like (is it like the G1 design) and what does he look like without it (like the Prime design)?

Okay, now that I've got the opener out of the way (probably the least fun part, honestly), it's time I said it officially.

TRANSFORMERS IGNITION IS COMING BACK! And we're gonna have a psychotic mad doctor hearse, three robotic swamp monster robots, and a nerdy Asian girl! AND SOME OTHER STUFF TOO YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
