Chapter 3: Pursuit New chapter. Hope you enjoy! Prowl, Autobot Military Strategist and Chief of Security, taps into the central security terminal. There he runs simultaneous calculations of recent developments including the effect of the demise of Zeta Prime on the Autobots’ effective military strength, potential defenses against local organic weaponry, and the probability of victory against Decepticon forces on Earth while accounting for Terran variables. Multiple displays flash and cycle through each other and cast a dim glow on the Autobot in the otherwise dark and silent room. Light suddenly bursts through the entrance to the chamber as a fellow Autobot enters. “Dark and depressing, suits your style.” “Is there a reason to interrupt me, Jazz?” The head of Special Operations chuckles at his comrade’s cool demeanor. “I just figured I’d check on in you. Now that we know the Decepticons have crashed the party, the Boss wants my team to feel it out.” “A logical procedure,” Prowl accessed, still focused on his work. “I dig, but I know that super-computer in your cranium can hit on things others can’t. I was wondering what your take was.” “My assessment is that your investigation is fruitless,” Prowl stated with a static voice and a stoic expression. “The Decepticons are aware of our presence and are also clearly exercising the same cautions as us with the local population.” “Ah,” Jazz answers with a grin. “Then what’s your call?” “Interceptions of local communications have proven useful. The most effective solution is for me to deal with this myself. According to my calculations I’m the only one who can infiltrate the Terran population without alerting them to our presence. I will handle the situation.” “Sounds like a plan, Chief” Jazz concurs. “Though you won’t mind if I continue to follow my fruitless efforts all the same, right?” “It is logical to follow procedure, though I know the outcome.” Jazz smiles at he thinks that Prowl hasn’t changed at all. Others tend to take offense to the officer’s cold behavior, but Jazz knows Prowl better then most.
update on draft Thought I should let my readers know (I know you're lurking here ) That I'm going to hold off on posting any more updates of this story for awhile. Reason being that I haven't been too happy with the past couple of chapters so far. I think it would be better that I finish the rough draft before I continue work on the first draft (which is what I've been posting here). I expect that doing so will improve the first draft considerably, to a point I'm happy with. Thus far I've been writing each chapter of the first draft after I complete the said chapter in the rough draft. But now that I will focus entirely on the rough draft instead of splitting my attention, I should be able to finish it that much quicker. Hopefully it won't take more then a couple months to finish it, then I'll return and resume updates. I figured I would toss up a few hints to hold you guys over in the meantime. Also feel free to message me if you have any questions or want more details. Not only do I have the rest of this book planned out already, I have an entire series of books planned out. A rather extensive story that will ultimately span years, take place throughout the galaxy, and involve over three hundred characters. So if you just want to know what happens, I can fill you in. Hints: Spoiler Jetfire and Grimlock will be repaired and upgraded, each with a unique technology. Spoiler Cliffjumper will show up and join the scout team (so he can tag with 'Bee). Spoiler Bludgeon, with help from an outside source, uses the container to create a clone of Optronix (yes, Nemesis, who's origins are in fact much deeper). Spoiler Megabolt returns as Megastorm (beast wars megs) and laucnhes a rivalry with Grimlock (T-rex vs T-rex). Spoiler Thunderwing arrives with a couple of cybertronian mercenaries; Lockdown and Lugnut. Spoiler The constructicons and Devastator will be featured, and they will kick ass. Spoiler Simultech is delved into in much of the book. They are a shadow investor in every single major company in the United States, and through their lobbyists they control the entire US Government as well. They are headed up by a rouge Cybertronian who will make a major impact.
