Optimus Prime is without a doubt the most iconic character of the whole Transformers franchise. The problem with this is, he doesn't really seem to change much, save for a few instances like TFA. Optimus is always the stoic, noble paragon of justice and everything right in the world and blah blah blah. I wanted to take this stalwart hero and cut him down to size a little bit, give him more depth to his personality, so I decided to take the classic G1 episode "War Dawn" and put my own spin on things. I hope you'll all enjoy reading as you watch the flawed, imperfect Orion Pax slowly transform into the hero we all know today.

    Death of a Records Clerk

    "Amazing, simply amazing."

In the Cybertronian archives, young scholars studied the history of Cybertron. There were articles on the politicians and military leaders, the important historical dates, even some ancient records of the fabled Allspark!

    "Orion, what're you lookin at?"

The Cybertronian was so engrossed in his studies that he didn't even realize his friend, Dion, was calling for him.

"Hey, are you listening to me?" he said, grabbing Orion by the arm.

"What? Oh, yeah, sorry Dion. I was just reading this record on the Primes. It's really interesting. Here, take a look!" he said, shoving the record in his friend's face.

"Hey, hey! Calm down a little bit. Besides, if you keep studying all these old history records, you're going to miss your date with Ariel!"

    "Ariel, oh slag, you're right!"

"Slag? Wow, that's the first time I've heard innocent little Orion use such profanity!"

"Knock if off Dion. I got a little carried away studying the histories, I'll admit. You're right, we should get going."

Just then, the entire Cybertronian Archive began to tremble.

"Woah, what's going on?" Dion yelled, along with some profanities of his own.

An explosion caught both Cybertronians off guard, sending them flying backward. Orion lost a good chunk of his lower jaw, with Dion received a devastating blow to the torso. The two of them struggled to their feet and turned to see the source of the explosion. Standing there, terrifying and ominous as ever, was the evil leader of the newly formed Decepticon terrorist group, Megatron.

"Soundwave, download as many records as you can. Starscream, sweep the area for civilians," the imposing leader demanded.

"Lord Megatron, I must ask, are your optics failing you? There are two civilians right in front of your face!" the one addressed as Starscream responded.

In Megatron's defence, Dion and Orion were somewhat camouflaged among all the rubble.

"Well then, Starscream, are you going to stand there and point at them, or are you going to kill them as instructed?"

"My apologies, my lord. I will do as you request."

Megatron's Decepticons stormed the Cybertronian Archive and gathered as much data as they could. Dion and Orion were helpless, and Orion had desperately hoped that someone would come in to save them.

"You should consider yourselves lucky that you're about to die by the hands of Starscream, you two!"

"Wait!" Dion pleaded. "Let my friend go. You can kill me, but let him live!"

"Dion, you don't have to do this," Orion whispered hoarsely. It was tough talking without a lower jaw.

"And why should I go against the demands of my glorious leader, Megatron, and let him live?" Starscream demanded.

"Ummmm....he's got a date!" Dion managed to say.

"Well," mused Starscream, "isn't that just a shame?"

The Decepticon raised his arm and revealed what he called a Null Ray. He aimed it directly at Orion's forehead. That's when something in Dion snapped, and he did something that he never dreamed he would've done. He charged, full force, at Starscream. The impact knocked the Decepticon over on his back, and the shock caused him to fire his Null Ray, right through Dion's chest.

    "Dion, no!" Orion shouted.

"He wasted his life, really. Did he think he could really stop me from killing you?" Starscream said.

"I know I can," said a deep, commanding voice.

Starscream turned to see Megatron on his knees with a gun to his head. Orion, it seemed, had not hoped in vain. No one said the name of the Cybertronian who had humbled Megatron so. No one had to. It was Sentinel Prime.

    The Wrath of Megatron

The Decepticons weren't sure what to do. Megatron had a gun to his head, and one false move could mean the end of their leader, as well as the Decepticon cause!

"Come on now, Autobot," said the Decepticon called Thundercracker. "Let's not do anything hasty.

"I'll do what I have to to ensure the safety of the Cybertronian race. That bot over there," said Sentinel as he gestured to Dion, "is he alive?"

    "N-no," stuttered Starscream.

"You're all cowards!" said Megatron. "You outnumber this Autobot. Kill him! Kill him now!"

Soundwave stepped up and readied his gun, but he caught the look Megatron was shooting him. He had a plan already in progess. Soundwave didn't need to do anything.

"You seem pretty certain that you have me beat, Sentinel Prime. Your ignorance will be your--"

Sentinel cut him off with a sharp slace to the face. As he began to pull back his hand, however, Megatron grabbed him and flipped him over on his back. Sentinel had been taken off guard, and now Megatron had his cannon trained on him!

"You Autobots are all alike," mused Megatron. "You claim you want peace and harmony, yet you'll fight until the last drop of fuel is exhausted in you to get rid of the Decepticon cause, not even giving us a chance."

"I'll never give tyranny a chance!"

"Tyranny? Tyranny, my friend, is the only way to get things done. Cybertronians can be so simple minded at times, and it becomes rather obvious when divisions and dispute arise. Nothing gets done. Cybertron needs a strong ruler to lead it in its thinking. It will be united under my iron grip!"

At these words, Megatron did the unthinkable. He took his powerful Fusion Cannon and blasted it right through Sentinel Prime's torso. The leader of the Autobots, the fearless champion of Cybertron, had been killed.

"And now, I believe, that just leaves you, young one."

Orion Pax had nowhere to run or hide. Sentinel had just fallen, and with him, it seemed, all hope.

"Please, grant me mercy. I beg of you!" Orion pleaded.

"Mercy?" Megatron laughed. "Mercy is for the weak!"

At the backside of the Cybertronian Archive, another explosion blew away the entire wall. In all the smoke and debris, a figure came in and snatched Orion away. The Decepticons couldn't see a thing, but they all started blasting everywhere.

"The Archive! It's ruined!" cried Orion.

"But you aren't," said a gentle and reassuring voice. It was Ariel! She had come to save him!

"I...I guess this is what I get for being late to our date, huh?" said Orion, trying to shake off the image of Sentinel being shot to death.

Ariel was about to respond when a stray bullet hit her right in the forehead. She collapsed on the ground with a thud. Dion was gone. Ariel was gone. Sentinel Prime was gone.

"You won't get away with this, Megatron," Orion thought bitterly. "You'll pay for what you did to them all!"

    Please, no upside stuff here.

    Orion Questioned

"Destroyed. All destroyed. Imagine how much history we lost here!" said Fireflight.

It was approximately a week after the death of Sentinel Prime. The Autobot forces were dwindling without the guidance of a strong leader. The Cybertronian Archive was completely demolished, and Orion had extensive repairs done on him.

"Hey guys!" announced Skydive. "Come over here quick! I think it's a fembot!"

The four Autobots gathered around their friend and scanned the deceased fembot body.

"Any idea who she is? She's kinda hot," Fireflight remarked.

"That's enough. Come, we must bring her and the other to Alpha Trion. Perhaps he will know what to do," said the group leader, Silverbolt.

Orion's lower jaw was broken beyond repair, so when he answered the questions of the Autobot Elite Guard, he had to do so with the use of a mouthguard.

"Now, Orion, who was with you at the time of the attack?" questioned the old Alpha Trion.

"It was my friend, Dion. Oh, have you found him? And Ariel! She was shot down too!"

"I've already sent out a search party to find anyone else, but I'm going to need details on them, Orion."

"Well, the Archive was kinda empty. There was just me, Dion, this one purple guy...."

    "Purple guy?"

"Yeah. He had one eye, and he kept doing all this stuff like scanning the walls and doing calculations on a holo-board."

"Shockwave," the old bot said grimly. "No doubt he was acting as the Decepticon's signal to attack....but if it was information they were after, why didn't they just have Shockwave gather it all himself?"

"Well, sir, maybe it was a trap," Orion suggested. "And I guess one that worked."

"Sadly enough, that could be very true. Tell me, did Megatron take anything out of Sentinel after he killed him?"

"Take something? No. Why? Wait a second....you don't think Megatron was after the Ma--"

    "I'm afraid so. Magnus!"

A white bot resembling Orion walked in at Alpha Trion's orders with his hands full with holo-pads containing all sorts of information on Sentinel Prime.

    "Yes sir?"

"Do you know of the location of our sacred artifact?"

"Yes sir. Sentinel had apparently hidden it behind his own spark, in case an emergency such as the one he was faced with before ever arose. He didn't want Megatron to get his hands on it."

"So the Matrix is in our care then?"

"Yes sir, but we don't know to whom it should be passed on."

Through all of this, Orion sat quietly, gazing at this bot that looked so much like him, only far more powerful and confident.

"Magnus, how about you let me deal with Sentinel's successor, all right?" Alpha Trion kindly requested.

    "Yes sir. Anything else?"

"Actually, yes. We need to train Orion here."

"Him?" Magnus asked, completely ignoring the fact that Orion was sitting right there in front of him. "Why do we need to train him, of all people? And that is said with all due respect to you, sir."

"I have spent time meditating in the Oracle, Magnus. Primus himself has told me that he has plans for Orion here. Please, take him to Ironhide at once."

"Primus has plans for me?" Orion thought. "How can that be?"

"Come on kid, we might as well break you down now!" mocked Magnus.

Orion remained silent, unaware of the fact that Alpha Trion had plans of his own for him.

    The Meeting of Ironhide

"Give it up, Prime! The Matrix will be mine!"

Galvatron carelessly tossed a pair of cars out of his way as he charged, full force, towards his old rival.

"You and I both know how this will end!" proclaimed Optimus, slamming his fist into Galvatron's forehead, stopping his charge. "You'll lose, same as always."

Rubbing his aching forehead, Galvatron snarled. "Ah, but it's different this time, Prime. This time, I have the power of the Dark Energon!"

"You'll never learn your lesson, will you, Galvatron?"

"You're pretty fragging sure you're going to win this one, Prime. I don't like that."

Magnus hurried Orion along, not stopping to show him all the magnificent rooms in the Autobot Headquarters. One room in particular caught Orion's attention, and he figured he might as well ask about it.

"Magnus?" he quietly asked, barely keeping up with his new mentor.

    "Yeah, what?"

"That room back there, the one with the giant protoform, what was it?"

"It's called Operation O2, and that's all you need to know. Come, Ironhide is waiting."

As Orion looked ahead, he noticed a very impressive figure standing before him. He was brawny and had the look of experience. He was armed to the teeth, but it was clear that he could use his fists if the need to would ever arise.

    "Orion, this is Ironhide."

"So, you're Alpha Trion's special project-bot, huh?" he grunted.

    "Project-bot?"

"Yeah, he apparently sees big things in you, kid. You better not let him down," Ironhide warned.

"Oh, I....I won't! I promise!" he said, clearly intimidating. It made Ironhide laugh.

"Haha! Come on, you don't need to worry! You're here to be trained by me, remember? Magnus, tell our new friend here of some of the other bots I've trained."

"Well, let me think, sir. There's been Sentinel, of course, Dai Atlas, Saber, Blurr, me, that bot who went AWOL...."

    "AWOL?" asked Orion.

"Yeah, there was some guy named Brickhouse. He was a bit obsessive and ambitious. I was always a little suspicious of him, but we haven't seen him since the attempted assassination of Alpha Trion."

"Oh yeah, that was a rough day," thought Ironhide aloud. "Well, I guess we better get started. Orion, are you ready to run.....the Gauntlet?"

    The Gauntlet

"Sir? What's the Gauntlet?" Orion asked sheepishly.

"Magnus, how's about you show him?" Ironhide offered, a bit to jovially.

The white bot led Orion into the main arean where the Gauntlet was to take place. It seemed like a big hallway, and there was a big red button at the end of it.

"Okay, protoform," Magnus instructed. "All you have to do is go over there and push the big red button."

"That's all I have to do?"

"To pass the Gauntlet, yes. Just press that button over there, and come back to this starting line. That's all you have to do."

Orion figured it seemed easy enough, so he took his place at the starting line with confidence. Magnus walked into a control room and took hold of a microphone.

"Tell me when you're ready!" he announced, stifling a laugh.

    "I'm ready!"

    "Okay! hehehe...Go!"

Nothing happened. Orion looked around, but all was silent. He wandered over to the big red button, studied it for all of five seconds, and pressed it.

"All right!" he said happily. "Now to back and AGH!"

Orion was suddenly hit on all sides with a barrage of paint bullets. He was ambushed!

"What is this?!" he said, taking a blast in the face.

"Just get back to the starting line!" Magnus ordered.

    "GAAAAH!"

Suddenly the ground gave way from beneath Orion, revealing a maze with several traps. Orion fell down and landed on his back.

    "Owwwwwwwww....." he groaned.

As he looked up, Orion noticed that he was once again surrounded by Autobots with paint bullet guns. There was no backing out of this. He had to show Alpha Trion and Magnus what he was capable of! He stood up, gathered his wits about him, lifted his head high and.....ran off screaming.

"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!" Magnus laughed. "This is the bot Alpha Trion wants to deliver the M--"

    "Magnus?"

The bot turned around to see Alpha Trion himself, looking very angry.

    "What are you doing?"

"J-just putting Orion through the Gauntlet, sir."

    "On what level?"

"Oh, you know....that one level with the button and the stuff and the....ummm...."

    "Magnus."

    "Level 7 sir!"

"Level 7?! Magnus, he's not ready for that! That level is as intense as the Gauntlet gets without using actual ammo! Stop the exercise at once!"

    "Yes sir."

Afterwards, Magnus was strictly disciplined by Alpha Trion, while Ironhide apologized to Orion.

"I'm sorry, kid. I didn't think Magnus would crank it up to Level 7. The Gauntlet is designed to push yer skills, yer ability to think on yer feet, to the limit when dealin with an ambush."

"Well, I probably would've failed even on level 1," Orion said wearily.

"Nah, you were holding yer own pretty well, until that whole running away bit, that is," Ironhide laughed. "Now listen, kid, I'd understand if ya don't want me to train ya anymore, but someone has to if you're going to be doin the job Alpha wants ya doin."

    "And what's that?"

"Yer supposed to go n' find who the next holder of the Matrix will be!"

"Me?! And wait, Alpha Trion doesn't already know himself?" asked a very shocked and confused Orion.

"Vector Sigma, the living component inside The Matrix, won't tell'im. He says it's fer you to find out!"

"That's ridiculous! I wouldn't even know where to start! And what if the Decepticons come after me?!"

"If ya don't wanna worry about them Decepticons, I suggest ya keep trainin with me!"

"All right, I will. Thank you, Ironhide."

    "No problem, kid."

"Did you get all that, my Lord?" squaked a tiny bird.

"Yes, Laserbeak, I heard every word. So the Matrix is still with the Autobots. Fine. I shall send my troops to dispose of this Orion, and then nothing will stop me from getting the Matrix of Leadership!" cackled the Decepticon Commander.

    Dawn of the Arielbots

"Come on you guys, just a little bit further!" ordered Silverbolt.

The five Autobots had tried their best at transporting poor, dead Ariel safely, but they had other things from the destroyed Cybertronian Archive to carry as well.

"Why do we even need all this junk?!" questioned Fireflight.

"It'll give Alpha Trion a proper assessment of what needs fixing, and of what can even be repaired. We're also going to use some of this material for that Operation O2, I'm told," answered Silverbolt. "You know he can't just come out here and examine it himself. You never know when a Decepticon might come up and--GAH!"

Silverbolt was shot by a hidden Decepticon. His men dropped everything they were holding, including Ariel. It was a full on ambush!

"Keep firing!" ordered the imposing Decepticon tyrant, Straxus. "No mercy!"

The next few moments were all a blur for Silverbolt and his crew. One by one, they fell offline. Silverbolt was able see a crew of Autobots come to their rescue and fight off Straxus, but he couldn't recognize them.

"Don't worry, soldier," said the blue colored one. "You'll be okay."

When Silverbolt went back online, he realized he was on a hospital bed. His crew surrounded him as well. They had been rebuilt, but Silverbolt didn't know who was responsible for it.

"So, you're alive," said the blue one again, optimistically. "Took you long enough! Do you know how long you were out for?"

    "Who...who are you?"

    "You can call me Delta."

"Did you rebuild me? Rebuild us?"

"Yes, using those spare parts you were hauling around. Though I didn't do everything."

"The fembot? What happened to the fembot?"

"Her spark was still weak, but she managed to say a few words. Ariel was her name. Nice girl."

    "So she's okay?"

"Yeah, but she'll take a while to recover yet."

"Good. Wait, you said you weren't the only one to rebuild us. Who else did?"

"My crew, of course!" said Delta, ushering for his friends to come in.

Silverbolt was shocked to realized that the group who had rebuilt him and his team was none other than the Wreckers! Powerful Roadbuster, cunning Springer, lethal Sandstorm, and so many others.

"I take it you know us?" Springer asked.

"Of course! I'm honored to have been fixed up by you guys. You did an amazing job."

"Thanks," said Springer. "By the way, we took a few liberties when we rebuilt you. Hope you don't mind. What do you guys call yourselves?"

"A few liberties, huh? Well, if it's Wrecker approved, I'm sure I'll be okay with them! And my team? I guess we really don't have a name...."

The weak fembot groaned from the next room. She had been offline for quite some time, and it seemed like she was coming out of it again. Silverbolt looked at her happily and finally something came to his mind.

"Springer, these troops of mine, Fireflight, Slingshot, Skydive, and Air Raid, are going to be known as....the Arielbots."

"After the fembot?" Delta asked. "Interesting. Almost fits your new alt mode too."

"My new alt mode?" Silverbolt asked, confused.

"Of course!" Delta replied. "Springer said he took some liberties when the Wreckers rebuilt you. You guys can fly now!"

    "WHAT?!"

"You have something against flying?" Sandstorm asked.

"Long story, I don't want to talk about it."

"Well," Springer mused, "You guys are Aerialbots now, so you should--"

    "It's Arielbots, sir."

"Fine. Anyways, you and your Arielbots have a responsibility now, you understand. The Autobots, in case you haven't noticed, aren't exactly masters of the sky. We need you guys to change that. Do you think you can do that? For the Autobot cause?"

Silverbolt thought long and hard about this. He couldn't give Springer and answer just yet. He had worked so hard to repress his bad memories of that incident from so long ago. Delta went off to tend to Ariel, and the Wreckers went back to their own business. Slowly, the other Arielbots woke up and were informed of their situation. Then Springer reentered the room.

    "Silverbolt?" he asked.

    "Yeah?"

"It's time for your first mission. There's this guy, Orion, and he needs a chaperone to go with him."

Orion's name caused Ariel to stir a bit, and Delta had to settle her down a bit.

"Why would he need a chaperone?" snapped Fireflight."

"He has precious cargo," Springer answered.

"Oh? And what's that?" Fireflight shot back.

Yelling now, Springer answered, "He has the Matrix with him. Now shut up and get out there!"

    The Journey Begins

"Well, Orion, I think you're ready for whatever ol' Megatron has to throw at ya!" Ironhide said cheerfully.

"Thank you. Your training is really, umm, good."

"So you think yer ready to head out now?"

"I don't get why we had to wait until this guy was fully trained before we began searching for the next Prime!" interjected Magnus. "It's a waist of time if you ask me."

"Alpha Trion was told by Primus himself that Orion was to deliver it. You really wanna upset the big guy?" shot Ironhide. "Besides, Orion's more than ready. Isn't he getting an escort?"

"Yeah, I sent for the Wreckers, and they told me they had a new crew to help out."

    "A new crew, huh?"

"Yes, sir, the Aerialbots. Or was it the Arielbots? Gah, I don't remember. All I know is that these guys are flyers."

At the sound of Ariel's name, Orion's head perked up.

"Did you say Ariel?" he interrupted.

"Arielbots," Magnus corrected. "And don't interrupt me. Ironhide, shall I take him to Alpha Trion?"

"Yeah, he's probably waitin for ya anyways."

The two marched down to Alpha Trion's chambers, where they were met by the Arielbots and Alpha Trion, standing with the Matrix in hand.

"Orion," the old bot said, "these five are going with you on your journey. I'll let them introduce themselves."

"Hey there, I'm Silverbolt. I'm the leader of this group."

"Wow," Orion replied. "So you guys are all Wreckers?"

"Sure are kid! Name's Fireflight, by the way."

"Don't mind Fireflight. He's can be a bit of a fool at times. I'm Skydive, the group's strategist."

"I'm Air Raid. Fireflight may talk a big game, but he can't back it up like I can!"

"And I'm Slingshot, and I'm honored to be your escort in delivering the Matrix."

"Wow, it's nice to meet you--all of you. I have one question though. You're called the Arielbots. Why?"

Silverbolt glanced at his fellow teammates and decided that he would be the one to tell Orion the story. He had no idea that the fembot whose life he had helped save was Orion's girlfriend!

"So, she's alive then?" Orion said, full of hope.

"Indeed, but she's still recovering. Come, we should deliver that Matrix to its rightful owner as soon as possible!" Silverbolt replied.

"All right! Autobots, ummm....am I allowed to use Sentinel's catchphrase?"

"Don't even think about it," snarled Magnus.

    "Fine, Autobots, let's just go."

And so began the journey that would change Orion's life forever.

    Uraya

"Okay, where do we go first?" asked Silverbolt.

"Wherever the Matrix leads us, I guess," suggested Orion.

He and the Arielbots had stopped right outside of Iacon's border, and were unclear of to where, let alone to whom, the Matrix should go. There was a big argument over it between Fireflight and Air Raid on whether they should go to Altihex or Kalis.

"Altihex is probably the best bet, Fireflight! It's closer, and it has that military training facility. It's bound to have a few worthy warriors."

"You're wrong! Kalis has to be the way to go!"

    "On what grounds?"

    "Well, there's, umm,"

"Admit it. You just want to go there to see if the undead protoforms are still walking about!"

"How often do we get to see a zombie outbreak on this planet?! Other planets get them all the time! Do not deny me the chance to see zombies, Air Raid!"

All this yelling was getting on the rest of the team's nerves. Orion kept silent, for fear of getting in the middle of things. Finally, Skydive had enough.

"Quiet!" he yelled. "Look, how about we go to Uraya? It's the closest city to Iacon, and Big Bang lives there."

    "Big who?" Slingshot asked.

Skydive sighed. "Big Bang was the bot who turned the tide at the battle of Beta-Nine! Don't you remember? He's a legend!"

"Good thinking, Skydive! Orion, what do you say?"

"I suppose we could head there. Silverbolt, will you lead the way?"

Near by, Laserbeak hid in the shadows, listening to every word the Autobots said and transmitting them directly to Megatron.

    "Uraya, eh?" Megatron cackled. "Starscream!"

    "Yes, my lord?"

    "Deploy the Stunticons."

    "As you command, lord Megatron."

    Delta and Elita 1

“Here I am, lying in a ditch while my partner Elita 1 risks her life on the battlefield. I should be out there helping her, but my leg injury is too severe, according to her. Slaggit. Slag it all!”

The young Autobot just laid there for what seemed like an eternity. Then suddenly a Decepticon burst out from seemingly nowhere and aimed his blaster directly at Delta’s face.

“Go ahead, I dare you!” challenged the Autobot.

The Decepticon fired his blaster...and missed pointblank! With a look of disgust, Delta brought out his arm cannons and shot the ‘con right in the chest. He then got up and began to limp away.

“Guess I should expect that kind of crap from a Decepticon named Misfire…” he thought to himself.

As Delta was limping his way across the battlefield, he ran into his partner, Elita 1. She looked mad.

“What the slag are you doing out of the safety zone?!” she demanded. “You could’ve been seriously hurt!”

Suddenly, another Decepticon, Spinister, snuck up behind Elita1 and grabbed her. Delta merely smiled slightly and cocked his gun. With a loud blast, Spinister fell to the ground, and Elita1 was free.

“Yeah, yeah, the irony isn’t lost on me, Delta. Now if you’re going to be stubborn and not stay put, you might as well help me find those hostages.”

Ariel lay, weak and immobile on the surface she was placed on. She still had some head trauma that Delta was trying his best to fix, but he wasn't exactly the best mechanic. Her condition was critical, and it was a miracle that she had held on as long as she had.

    "Hnnn...." she moaned.

"Easy now," Delta said calmly. "You're quite the fembot, aren't you?"

    She smiled weakly.

"You know what? I may be in need of some tools I don't have here. Perhaps I can contact Wheeljack and see if he can give us a hand."

As if on cue, the bot Delta referred to as Wheeljack appeared on the computer monitor.

    "Wreckers? Anyone there?" he asked.

"Just me and Ariel," Delta answered. "What is it?"

"Delta, I need you to come down here at once. Trailbreaker here is working on a revolutionary new device that could create personal force fields!"

"What do you need me for?"

"I wanted the Wreckers to be his body guards. Where are they, by the way?"

"They left a while ago on the Xantium, searching for some bot named Slaughterhouse."

"So you're the only Wrecker available then? Don't get me wrong, it's just that--"

"No, I get it. You need all the help you can get, but the pressure has really been on these last few days, what with Sentinel's death and everything."

"Oh yeah, did you know they sent out a guy to personally deliver the Matrix to the new Prime?"

"Yes, Wheeljack. The Arielbots are escorting him in fact. Anyways, if I'm to guard Trailbreaker, I'll need some form of transportation sent here, so I can bring Ariel over as well."

"Thanks a bunch, Delta," Wheeljack said emphatically. "I'll send someone over ASAP to get you two over here."

    "Anything else?"

"Yeah, actually. I have a project I'm working on too, called the Accelerator Guantlet. Once you're over here, you'll have to check it out."

"Looking forward to it, Wheeljack. By the way," he added, almost forgetting about Ariel, "I may need to talk to someone about getting some more parts for Ariel."

"No problem. I'll see you shortly, Delta."

    Big Bang

Orion and the Arielbots were now in the center of Uraya, and there was still no Big Bang to be seen. One of the first things Orion noticed was the fact that Uraya seemed to be in rough shape. It was obvious that the city had been victim to a Decepticon attack, and its inhabitants were still in a frenzy about it. Had Megatron perhaps already gotten to Big Bang?

"Man, this place is a dump!" Fireflight said with little tact.

"Shh!" said Air Raid, striking Fireflight's head sharply. "We don't want to attract attention to ourselves!"

"Do you really think Decepticons would still be here? Look at this place! Whatever they came searching for, they've already found it!"

    "Not quite."

"D-did you say that, Air Raid?" Fireflight said, suddenly put off.

    "No...."

"Turn around, you fools!" said a booming voice.

From behind a building, five thuggish Decepticons crept out. These five were most likely responsible for the carnage all around Uraya.

"What do you want?" Fireflight asked with bravado.

"We want Orion," said the hulking black bot. Strange thing, this black bot actually resembled Orion a little bit.

"Why do you want me?" Orion asked with a tremble.

"You know perfectly well why, kid. You've got the Matrix, now hand it over before I chop your ball bearings off!" the Decepticon threatened.

Silverbolt stood in front of Orion and gave the leader of this group of Decepticons a hard glare.

"Who are you bots anyways?" he demanded.

"We're the Stunticons, and we've been called on to destroy your little buddy there. The name's Motormaster, by the way," he answered with a smirk.

"You won't lay a hand on him!" Slingshot objected.

"Dragstrip, please show these idiots how wrong they are, and be quick about it!"

In the blink of an eye, the yellow colored Decepticon, Dragstrip, apparently, knocked Silverbolt over and grabbed hold of Orion. He had one arm over Orion's neck, tight to his own chest, and he had his gun trained on Orion's head with his free hand.

"You see," Motormaster announced, "we mean business. Now, boys, let'm have it."

The other three Stunticons charged at the Arielbots with surprising speed. Although outnumbered, these Decepticons proved to be more than a match for the Arielbots. All five were quickly put into submission, while Motormaster stood there and watched.

"Well, that was entertaining. Now give me the Matrix, Orion!"

    "Never!" he struggled to say.

"Then I'll cut you a deal," Motormaster said slyly. "I'll keep asking you for the Matrix, and every time you don't give it to me, one of your Autobot buddies here will die."

    "No...don't!" he protested.

"Then give me the Matrix!" Motormaster shouted.

    "No!"

"Wildrider, you know what to do!"

The black and red Decepticon took a gun and put it right up to Fireflight's forehead.

    "Do it!"

With a big bang, Fireflight suddenly had a large hole through his head. He fell to the ground, dead.

"That was," said Wildrider with a sadistic grin, "very satisfying. I wanna kill more! I wanna kill more!"

"What's wrong with you?!" Orion screamed.

"You want to know what's wrong?" Motormaster asked. "I don't have the Matrix, that's what!"

"Neither do I, but you don't see me complaining," came a voice from behind Motormaster.

The Stunticon leader didn't react. He didn't have time too. Before he knew it, he was slammed to the ground by a brutal force. Standing over the knocked out Decepticon was none other than Big Bang himself.
