CAU TFW Adventures

Hello transfans, fellow board members and guests, everywhere. Welcome to the Cybertron Alliance Universe Adventures. This thread will be for an open fic, similar to a text based RPG, but a lot simpler and with no points and such. It is purely for fun, for creativity, and as a demonstration of what the Cybertron Alliance Universe is all about. The end aim is to have compiled a completed TF fanfic based on this thread. Anyone willing to give this a try may join, but if you are not sure, you are welcome to just watch it first. If you are interested further, please check out our main RPG, currently active at the CAU forums.

Ok, Obliterator and I will start, and if anyone else wants to jump in, please do so!

Here are the rules:

1. It must follow the CAU guidelines. These may be viewed here. Other than that, any continuity and/or characters are allowed.

2. If you wish to participate, select one or more characters that you would like to stick with and write for them only. They can be canon, CAU featured, or Original. If you use your own OCs here, you are automatically consenting to their use in an edited version of this thread, which will be posted on the CAU forums and other sites.

3. It MUST be in story format, so only honest writers should contribute, or at least anyone that is willing to give this a serious try.

4. Different posters contribute different bits of the story as it is continued. You CANNOT post two times in a row.

5. Your contribution must make sense, and be a direct follow on from the previous posts. Use common sense here, if you feel the previous post does not make sense to the story, then it may be ignored. I will make the final decision when the story is compiled, and edit it as required to put it together into something coherent.

6. It is up to you how the story develops, and you can create anything you want. Again, use common sense. I don't want a silly fic, but use humor if it fits.

7. In a single post, you may contribute as much or as little as you want (i.e. from just one line, to an entire page of story.)

8. You may switch back and forth between different scenes, and/or create new ones. They just have to be relevant.

9. If you are unsure of anything, then please ask me before you post.

Introduction

The atmosphere on Cybertron was abuzz with activity and life. The planet was peaceful. The streets bustled with Transformers - Autobots for the most part - and visitors, of all shapes and sizes, going about their daily business. And the parties. The parties were endless.

But at Cybertron's main Command Center, situated in the heart of Iacon, it was quite the opposite; orderly, quiet and largely unpopulated. In the control room, on this particular day, nothing much was happening. Due in large part, I suppose, to the fact that the war with the Decepticons - a rogue faction of Transformers that had almost succeeded in taking over the planet many centuries ago - was over.

Which was just as well, because the last thing anyone expected right now, was for something unexpected to happen.


Episode 1: A Day on Cybertron

Just outside of Cybertrons 3rd moons orbit, a small vortex opened, then expanded into a swirling cloud of gasses and light particles. Suddenly, a small ship appeared, and departed the cloud, which then collapsed upon itself.

The ship was nothing spectacular, barely larger than a small shuttle. The only remarkable thing about it, was it’s condition. It looked like it had traveled from one end of the galaxy to the other, and encountered every hostile civilization on the way. It was battered, scorched, bent, broken, and, if you looked closely, in the right place, you might have been able to read its name, once.

On board this small wreck, for it was too far gone to be called a ship anymore, were seven stalwart Autobots, and one Decepticon, their prisoner. These Autobots were part of a team, whose primary mission was to travel the galaxy, and put down disturbances caused by Decepticon insurgents. Their current mission, which was almost over, had lasted seventy years, and they were weary as they finally returned to their home.

"An unknown ship just appeared in orbit around Triluna!" A control room assistant shouted across the Communications Center at Jazz and Soundwave.

Jazz looked up from where he was catching up on reading the entertainment section of Cybertron's Daily e-News, and jumped across to the monitoring station.

"What unknown ship?" Jazz asked.

"I... don't know, sir. It's unknown. It's name appears to have worn off. Plus, it looks like it's just been to the Pit and back. A hundred times - maybe more," replied the assistant.

"Hmm. Get some fighters to intercept it - just in case it's hostile," Jazz ordered.

"Right away," the mech replied, then paused while he opened a private channel. When he was done, he reported back to Jazz. "Starscream and his aerial unit are on their way as we speak, sir. They've launched some fighters to intercept the ship."

"Ok. Now we wait and see what happens," Jazz said, watching the monitor.

On board the battered ship, a tall white mech turned towards the captain, and reported. “They’ve launched fighters, sir. What shall we do?” Turning towards the mech, the captain, a tall gray mech, designated Top Gun, answered, “Why does everybody respond to our presence by launching fighters? Just once, I’d like somebody to call us on the radio and say “Hi”. Is that too much to ask?”

“Do you want me to hail them?” asked another mech, this one green and black in color, designated Grave Digger. “Sure, why not,” replied Top Gun, “Maybe this time, they’ll invite us to tea.” Another mech entered the bridge, just in time to catch the captains last statement, and responded, “This is Cybertron, right? Why would they attack us, isn’t our Autobot logo still showing on the side of the ship?”

“No,” replied the white mech, designated Dust Off, “The ship lost all its external markings when we traveled through that asteroid field, along with most of our long range communications arrays.”

“It’s also been 70 years since we left,” stated Top Gun, "For all we know, the Decepticons run the planet now.”

“I’ll hail the flight leader of the fighters,” stated Grave Digger, the communications officer, “Maybe I can talk him out of attacking.”

Activating their remaining communications system, Grave Digger hailed the approaching fighters, “Attention incoming fighters, this is the Autobot shuttle, Lone Ranger. We are returning from a long and dangerous mission and would appreciate not being blown up. Do you copy?”

OOC: Welcome Titanic X!

As the Cybertronian interceptors approached the tattered ship, Starscream, leading the fleet, brought his fighter to a stop as he was hailed by the wreck.

"This is Starscream. The Lone Ranger...?" he repeated back, as if he had just received word about the discovery of the mysterious Planet X. "...Grave Digger, is that you? We thought you had all been sucked into a wormhole! Oh, and before you ask - no, Decepticons do not run the planet." Starscream then relayed this information back to headquarters, and after a short pause got an all clear. "Landing clearance granted, Lone Ranger. Welcome home."

A lone femme stood on top of the main command center in Iacon City. She was a very pretty femme, but her color scheme said otherwise. She was pure black on most of her body and she had a black helmet. Her face was white and her optics a very pretty golden color. She had what appeared to be a large flat plate of metal on her back and on that were what resembled engines, but also served as funnels for her alt mode. Two "wings" stuck out from the sides of this flat plate, also black, but with a white edge. Her lower legs were white and her lower arms were yellow with black hands. On her chest plate was the Autobot sigil.

In her hand she held a double staff and a fourth funnel, which served as her gun.

"Shroud? You there?" a male voice asked.

The femme, Shroud, raised her head. "Yes, I hear you, sir," she said calmly.

"Any sign of the Decepticon spy?" the voice asked.

"Not yet, Prime. I'll keep my optics peeled. But I don't understand why you want me to do the job when others can."

"You're the only one I can trust to do the job right, Shroud. Don't you forget that."

"I won't, sir. Just one more thing."

"Yes?"

"Are you certain that the spy is on board the Lone Ranger?"

"Yes. I'm sure of it."

"I'll keep my optics on it."

"Good. If the spy attacks, don't hesitate to take them out!"

"Understood. Shroud out."

Shroud eyed the shuttle for a moment before she spread her great hull wings and took to the skies in a great burst of flame from her three funnel engines. She drew her wings close to her body as she followed the seekers to the shuttle's landing platform.

As the ship came in for a landing, members of each faction scrambled to move out of the way. One such seeker was Mach Dart, a mech famous for the capture of thousands of Decepticon spies over the course of the Great War, and the only seeker to have joined the Autobots willingly.

Upon seeing the ship, he knew what he had to do. He hopped into his own fighter and took off to guide the ship back. "Mach Dart to Lone Ranger. I have been told to guide you back to the planet. We already have Autobots waiting to take the prisoner, so once you guys land, be prepared to hand him over."

A few kliks later and he was guiding the damaged shuttle into the landing bay, where armed Autobots and a repair team were waiting. Mach Dart landed his fighter and hopped out, just as the door opened. Grave Digger emerged, holding a battered Decepticon prisoner. "Good to see you again, Grave Digger." Mach Dart said.

He saluted, for Mach Dart was of a higher rank than he was. "Good to be back sir." Grave Digger said with a smile. Mach Dart nodded. "The prisoner will be escorted to Cybertron Command for questioning and possible charges of attempted overthrow of the leaders." he said as the prisoner was taken from the lower officer. However, they were unaware of what was about to happen within the next few days...

Shroud landed silently amongst the milling Transformers. No one, save for one Autobot, noticed her appearance. Top Gun, an old friend from the days during the war, smiled when she folded her wings and powered down her engines.

"Hello, Shroud. It has been a while," he said.

"Seventy years, Earth time, to be precise," she said calmly.

Top Gun nodded.

"Anything new regarding your mission?" she asked.

"Nothing new. Same old same old. We stopped another Decepticon uprising, but this one seemed a bit more unusual."

Shroud's optics narrowed.

"How so?" she asked.

"Well, our prisoner, who was taken by Mach Dart, I might add, seemed to be a bit bolder than normal. He actually attacked our ship, blowing about half our name off. He kept saying that the Decepticons would return and reclaim Cybertron, but I don't see how because their leader is long since dead," Top Gun explained.

Shroud nodded silently.

"Anything else?"

"No, aside from the fact that he blurted out something that doesn't make much sense."

"Such as?"

"Well, I can't say exactly what he said, but it had something to do with the Legendary Vessel of the Star Drives."

Shroud's optics widened. "Are you serious?" she asked.

"Yes. He said that they would stop at nothing to get it, but according to our records, no such vessel exists."

Now things were getting interesting. Shroud nodded. "Okay. I'll report this to Prime immediately. He may need to know."

"Understood. Oh, and Shroud?"

"Yes?"

"The sparks flicker in the night."

She nodded, having received the coded message. The spy had been there, but had left as soon as the crew had departed.

"Thanks."

Turning she walked away, glancing at the name on her hull wings. She wondered if the time was right to tell Prime what had happened to her years ago. She shook her head, deciding against it. She would tell him when the time was right.

Just an OOC: Please don't write for other people's characters. This is an RPG based story.

Top Gun, Grave Digger, Dust Off, Obliterator, Macgyver, Time Out, and Darkstar are my characters, and I have plans for them. Including proper introductions down the line.

Oh, the first 6 mentioned are not the spy. The 7th member of the crew can be, though.
And Darkstar is the Decepticon prisoner.
